After his difficult and deadly advancent, Jace slumped on his bed contemplating things.
'This won't work,' Jace thought.
Even though he had digested the potion completely, his advancent had truly been difficult.
And this was only Sequence 7; what was he going to do for the next sequence ?, as they will likely be more difficult than this one
He recalled that a Psychiatrist from the Spectator pathway could use Placate and prevent a Beyonder from losing control.
Sa went for a Sequence 6 Soul Assurer.
'Perhaps I should call Sarah when advancing next ti,' he thought.
But this required relying on soone; he thought it would probably be best to find so other solutions as well.
Now that he was feeling better, he decided to check out his abilities.
As he had expected, he had gained the mystical knowledge about his abilities when he consud the potion.
And it was exactly as he was expecting; there were 9 abilities total. In addition to that, there were so physical changes as well.
His hands were far more nimble now to perform tricks naturally; other than that, now he could perform divinations and other ritualistic magic more easily.
The abilities were:
Flaming Jump, He would be able to teleport out of sparks or fire in the range of 30 ters, which would improve as the potion is digested.
Damage Transfer, Moving fatal wounds to a non-fatal location; one wound can only be transferred one ti. It can be used for other people as well.
Air Bullet, With this Jace could point at soone or sothing with the gesture of a gun, and make a sound of a gunshot, and a bullet of air would shoot out; the effects would be like that of a real gun.
Paper Figurine Substitutes, These can be used to avoid life-taking wounds by creating a substitution and exchanging places with it; they also had so other interesting uses.
Fla Controlling, This can be used to manipulate flas or ignite sothing combustible within the range of 30 ters, which again would improve with potion digestion; this can be used with respect to flaming jump very well.
Illusion Creation, With this Jace can influence the environnt, creating illusions with colors, sounds, and slls that would be close to reality, allowing them to pass off the false as true.
Bone Softening, Soften bones to escape binding or other tricky situations; can also be used to take blows with less damage.
Underwater Breathing, Create a thin, invisible air pipe which would allow them to breathe freely underwater; only 5 ters, this would increase with digestion.
Paper Weapons, This is an evolution of paper daggers; now he can shape papers into batons, canes, swords...etc. and use them as real weapons temporarily.
A Magician indeed.
This was likely one of the better Sequence 7s out there, giving such a vast arsenal of spells.
Jace, who was still lying on the bed, lifted his one arm up and held the hand above his face.
The hand instantly burst into flas; this was the Illusion Creation ability. Jace created an illusion of his hand burning.
It also had the sound of burning flas; Jace focused and changed the color of flas into red, blue, and then into white flas.
It was a bizarre ability. The illusion faded away as he put his hand back down.
It took more spirituality than he imagined; it was best to stick to minor illusions for now.
The stress and tension brought by the difficult advancent mostly disappeared due to the fact that Jace was now powerful and had many interesting tricks.
Now there was no reason to stay here in the East Borough, so Jace got up and decided it was ti to leave this god-forsaken, depressing place.
It was mid-afternoon, so he started packing his things into his bag. After he was done, he just left without anyone knowing, just as he had co here.
After getting out of the area, Jace hailed a carriage right to Cherwood.
But he decided otherwise; he had just spent the most depressing month and a half of his life and now he was just going to his apartnt and sleep? Nope!
There was nothing particularly fun to do in this world—at least for Jace—so he decided he would go buy so suits and clothes.
As a Magician he would need a completely different wardrobe, and his current clothes weren't exactly very good.
So he had the carriage driver drive him to the most expensive tailor shop in Cherwood instead.
——
The shop was the best indeed.
When Jace arrived he was imdiately greeted by people there.
They took his asurents first; instead of just buying ready-made clothes, he decided he would have them made for him especially.
He then went through the long process of what he wants and how he wants it.
After he was done, he showed them his identification and paid them, and told them to deliver these to his address.
After he stepped out of the shop, instead of going back to his apartnt in Crimson Lane, he decided he would stay in a hotel for a day or two.
He had spent over a month in a shabby apartnt; the last thing he wanted to do was go to another apartnt, and besides, he had never been to one—even in his previous life.
So he hailed another carriage and made his way to a known hotel.
Jace currently had lots of money.
If he was in his world he would have bought a MacBook or sothing, perhaps a bike, but then he would also need to learn it.
But then again, that was not his world anymore; the realization soured his mood again.
——
The Golden Lion Hotel.
This hotel was in North Borough near the border of Cherwood; it was a fairly luxurious establishnt.
The entrance was large and welcoming. The interior was lively with wooden floors, comfortable sofas, and seemingly attentive staff at the front desk.
Jace walked to the desk, showed his identification, and asked for a single bedroom place for 2 nights.
It cost about 16 pounds: 12 for the room and 4 for the food here.
Jace paid without restraint, and a staff mber decided to show him the room..
