This is all your fault.

We got caught last ti in Fairbanks.

The abalone we poached was confiscated by the police, and we had to pay a fortune for bail.

The Black man, who was clutching his head, gave an embarrassed grin. His smile held a hint of ingratiation and guilt. He once again revealed the gold tooth set in his mouth, which glinted under the sun, looking particularly gaudy.

"Competition in Anchorage has been fierce lately," he explained. "A bunch of new gangs popped up, and those guys are bad news. We really couldn’t beat them, so we had no choice but to co out here to find so new business."

"Did you injure the chief of the Bear Tribe?" Feng Shan’s eyes sharpened in an instant, and he pressed the entrenching tool tightly against the man’s cheek.

The atmosphere tensed at Feng Shan’s question.

Everyone’s gaze focused on the man, waiting for his answer. Nash raised his handgun.

"No! What injury? We didn’t do anything!" the man said, panicking. He instinctively stood up to defend himself, but before he could finish, the dark muzzles of several guns were pressed against his shoulders and back.

This made the man freeze instantly. He could only crouch back down, his body trembling like a leaf.

"Yellow-skin... no, sir, we didn’t do anything! The few tis we ran into the Indigenous People hunting, we just chased them off."

"You didn’t do it?"

Feng Shan frowned, his eyes filled with suspicion.

He stared intently at the man cowering on the ground, trying to find any flaw in his expression or eyes. But the man just kept shaking his head, muttering over and over that he was innocent.

’Could it be that Nash’s father’s injury was really an accident?’

’I was so sure these gold prospectors were the culprits. I was dead set on confronting them and getting justice for Nash’s father.’

But now, Feng Shan was suddenly at a loss.

It was as if he had suddenly lost his target, leaving him feeling empty inside. The rage he had been holding in felt like a punch thrown into cotton.

Beside him, Nash also lowered his handgun.

Feng Shan turned to Jeff. "What now?"

Jeff shrugged. "Since they didn’t do it, we’ll send them to Anchorage and hand them over to the state police."

"No, not the police station! Sir, it has nothing to do with ! I was just following White Ghost’s orders." Hearing they were being sent to the police, the man scrambled to his feet again, only to be knocked down with a rifle butt by one of the watching tribal officers.

The man scrambled back up, dropped to his knees, and grabbed Feng Shan’s legs, begging pitifully with tears and snot streaming down his face.

"Mr. Chinese Man, the last bail already cost White Ghost a lot of money! If I go to jail again, he’ll definitely kill ! Please, I’m begging you!"

Feng Shan kicked the man away and looked with disgust at the filth sared on his pant leg.

"That has nothing to do with . Look at the ss you’ve made, coming to the reservation to pan for gold and ruining a perfectly good river. Jeff, they’re all yours."

"Get up, buddy. Save it for the judge!" Jeff hauled the man up, pulled his hands behind his back, and took a zip tie from a tribal officer, binding his thumbs together.

The tribal officers weren’t as rough with the remaining miners.

They just had them carry their injured companion and follow the escort party.

"Wait," Feng Shan called out suddenly.

The group stopped, and Jeff looked back.

Feng Shan pointed at the Black man. "Rember to pull out that gold tooth. That gold belongs to the Bear Tribe’s reservation."

The Black man was speechless.

「Back at the Bear Tribe’s camp.」

Chief Welta had already finished discussing the migration with the mbers of the Bear Tribe.

In the next few days, a plane would be arranged to take Nash’s father and the other tribe mbers to the Crown Territory.

Seeing that everything was settled, Feng Shan breathed a sigh of relief.

He was about to leave—after all, a crowd of clamoring tourists was waiting for him back at the Crown Territory.

He couldn’t afford to linger here for too long.

Just then, a sudden phone call completely derailed Feng Shan’s plan to return to the Crown Territory.

The caller was Frank. Her slightly hoarse but excited voice ca through the line.

"Feng, you need to co to Anchorage right now."

"Why?" Feng Shan asked, confused.

"You’ve been nominated for the Alaska Award for Excellence!" Frank explained quickly over the phone. "It’s an event held in Alaska during the first week of December every year. It’s to grant an honorary title to people who have made outstanding contributions to the state."

As for why Feng Shan had received this nomination...

It was related to his actions over the past while.

He had resolutely flown his plane into a raging Blizzard to successfully rescue Susan from Kevik Camp.

On the Far North Tundra, the Super Wolf Pack Fenrir had brought great panic and danger to the locals. But with his superb marksmanship and extraordinary courage, Feng Shan successfully hunted it down, restoring peace to the Tundra.

In the Bering Sea, when the fishern of the *Hollywood* fell overboard, he had extended a helping hand without hesitation, successfully snatching them from the jaws of death.

It was precisely because of these heroic and fearless deeds that Feng Shan had been nominated for the Alaska Award for Excellence back in 2017.

However, according to Frank, once you were nominated, winning the award was practically a sure thing.

Feng Shan held the phone, feeling both surprised and gratified.

It just ant his original travel plans would have to be changed again, and he needed to get to Anchorage as soon as possible.

Nash had to stay at the Bear Tribe’s camp to help with the migration.

Feng Shan told Chief Welta about his travel plans. To his surprise, the Elder Chief, who had overheard, smiled and said he had received a similar notice as well.
