Now reading: Chapter 145: ch 145 his pride wouldn’t allow it from Legacy of the Void Fleet, a Action novel by Drakethedestroyer.

If he was the one who gave Kallus these abilities, then it was also his responsibility to forge worthy opponents — challenges that would push Kallus to his limits. That would break him if he wasn't careful. That would shape him into what he was ant to beco.

Challenges — yes, the Supre Being admitted to himself — they were sothing he should have introduced from the very beginning. And yet, he hadn't. That was his oversight. But even so, that wasn't the full picture.

Yes, Kallus was growing complacent. Yes, the absence of true adversity had begun to dull his edge.

An edge that has only just begun to take shape — raw, untested, and lacking adversaries worthy enough to force Kallus to tap into his true power. Without true challenges — not re trials, but real threats that demand growth — he risks stagnation. What he needs is pressure. Sothing that can sharpen the edge, not just temper it

But this… this was only the beginning of his journey. For Kallus, the path had just begun. His mistakes weren't final — they were simply lessons waiting to be corrected. With a bit of pressure, a little hamring here and there — which the Supre Being was more than willing to apply — Kallus could still be forged into sothing far greater.

But what truly needed to change was the gift itself — the Universal Plane.

Not its existence, but its function.

Because as it was now, it offered too much, too easily. For both Kallus and his fleet, it was becoming a trap wrapped in the illusion of paradise. Any resource they needed could be found there. All they had to do was look. No struggle. No sacrifice. Just abundance.

And abundance without cost breeds stagnation.

If anything was to change — truly change — the nature of the Universal Plane would have to evolve. It could no longer be a realm of unlimited giving. It would have to beco a place that tested those who sought its gifts. A place that demanded effort. That punished arrogance. That mirrored the very universe Kallus sought to master.

Now, many would argue — shouldn't the best course be to cut off the resource-giving function of the Universal Plane entirely? Shouldn't it return to what it was originally ant to be — a sanctum for Kallus's personal growth, a crucible for his training?

That argunt had rit.

But the Being's focus wasn't solely on Kallus — it was on his subordinates. They were the concern. Not the empire Kallus dread of building. Not the grand ambitions born from instinct and drive. After all, even if that dream stemd more from impulse than reason, at least Kallus had started sowhere. That was sothing.

And because of that… the Supre Being had no intention of interfering in that choice. He respected the fact that Kallus had chosen a path — even if it wasn't perfect. He would not undo that decision.

But the Universal Plane, as it currently stood, was undermining that very path. For his subordinates — the soldiers, scholars, engineers, and leaders Kallus would one day rely on — it was turning into a golden cage. They were growing too comfortable, too dependent. They didn't bleed. They didn't strive. They only asked, or rather, find— and they will find it on the universal Plane.

That… had to change.

Back to the core question — why not simply cut off the Universal Plane's ability to endlessly regenerate and provide resources? Wouldn't that be the most effective and imdiate solution?

Perhaps. But that wasn't how the Supre Being operated.

The truth was simple — his pride wouldn't allow it.

Once he gave sothing, he would not take it back. Not even if it was the wisest or most efficient path. Not even if it was clearly necessary. That was a line he would not cross. To do so would be to admit that his original gift had been flawed — and he would not tarnish his own judgnt so easily.

So instead… he would walk the longer path. The harder path. The slower path.

Where others might choose to correct a mistake with a single cut, he would correct it with pressure, challenges, and careful design — bending the situation without ever retracting what he had given. That was just his way.

And truth be told, any solution for him was no more than the flick of a finger — a thought, a whim, and it would be done. But even so, he would often take the winding road. Not because he had to… but because he chose to.

If anyone questioned the effort, if anyone dared to suggest that it would cost him great ntal strain, the Being would probably smirk, lean back on his throne, and scoff with a smug grin:

"ntal power? Please. You really think this trivial thing drains ? Don't insult ."

Back to the core question once more — how would the Being solve this dilemma, if he refused to take the convenient and easy way out?

To answer that, we must first understand what the Universal Plane truly was.

It wasn't just so artificial realm stitched together with divine power. No, the Universal Plane was a universe in its own right — complete with its own galaxies, its own starlit skies, its own governing laws, and even its own form of life.

That had always been the intent.

And because it had been seeded and powered by the purest sources of energy — Origin Mana, Primordial Qi, Immortal Essence, and other foundational forces — the Universal Plane had evolved in a unique way. These energies didn't just empower those who entered. They infused the plane itself, enriching its rules, shaping its laws, and steadily pushing the very fabric of the realm toward a divine perfection.

Over ti, this created a profound effect.

Just like any true universe, the Universal Plane had developed zones of balance and imbalance. In so regions, the ambient mana was rich and overwhelming — a paradise for cultivators. In others, it was sparse and volatile — a desert for the soul. These fluctuations weren't designed; they were ergent, born from the very living nature of the plane itself.

Just like any true universe, the Universal Plane had begun to form zones of balance and imbalance.

In so regions, the ambient mana was rich — overwhelming, even — creating a haven for cultivators. These were places where the air shimred with pure Origin Energy, where the ground pulsed with Immortal Qi, where even the void between stars seed alive with potential.

But not all places were equal.

Elsewhere, the mana was sparse, fragnted, volatile — a desert for the soul, where progress slowed, and survival demanded grit. These variations hadn't been crafted; they were ergent, a natural evolution of a universe infused with such pure foundational energies.

And as the energy pooled and fluctuated across the Plane, it birthed more than just opportunity for cultivation.

Wherever ambient mana reached critical density, it shaped the land, forged superior resources.

These enriched zones did not just nurture rare materials — they also gave rise to the Beasts of the Universal Plane, entities forged from the very essence of mana and other primordial forces.

And that... that is where the being's answer lay.

Confused? That's natural.

What answer? And why ntion the Beasts of the Universal Plane — weren't they the creatures Kallus dealt with easily back on his original planet, the Core World of the Universal Plane?

The answer is yes — to all of that. But there's more to it.

Those earlier beasts were re shadows, remnants of sothing greater. Their true purpose had not yet begun. The real Beasts of the Universal Plane were never ant to be ordinary enemies. The being's intention was simple — wherever powerful resources existed, they would be guarded by these beasts. Not just any guardians, but beings of imnse strength, far surpassing Kallus in raw power.

And they would stay that way — invincible and untouchable — until Kallus or his subordinates completed a series of grueling challenges and trials. Only then would the beasts' growth be halted, giving Kallus and his team a real chance to defeat them and claim the treasures they protected.

In this way, the Universal Plane would act as both a deterrent and a crucible, forcing Kallus and his forces to evolve, to strategize, and to understand that nothing worth having would co easy.

The Supre Being never intended for these trials to be straightforward. Quite the opposite — each task was designed to be hellishly difficult, so much so that Kallus and his companions might one day look back and think… "Resources in the real world were far too easy to obtain."
