Now reading: Chapter 189: Ch 186 Comprehending Laws (Last) from Legacy of the Void Fleet, a Action novel by Drakethedestroyer.

Just like finding a treasure in a forest after you’ve stopped looking. The more you desire it, the more it slips away. That’s the nature of the Laws — impartial, unyielding, and impossible to cheat. In the end, whether you’re born a genius or a nobody... it makes no difference.

And that was the cosmic irony of it all: the deeper your comprehension of the Laws, the more power you could hold in your hands. But the further you went, the harder it beca to move forward. Even for those fortunate enough to comprehend a Law, progress could slow to a crawl — or worse, vanish entirely. Many beca impatient. Frustrated. So even broke.

But the mbers of the Void Fleet were lucky. They had already reached the threshold. With Kallus’s guidance and the unique support of the system surrounding him and his family, they weren’t facing the full bitterness of that reality — not yet. But soon, they would. That reckoning was coming. Not tomorrow. Not in so distant future. But soon enough.

For now, back to the present.

Ti passed.

Everyone focused — not with desperation, but with clear minds and firm intent. Minutes beca an hour. Then two. And then... sothing remarkable began to happen.

One by one, mbers of the Void Fleet started slipping into a rare state — the State of Enlightennt.

It was not sothing you could train for. It could not be forced. It was a phenonon few ever experienced in their lives. In the vast, ancient universe, 99.99% of cultivators never even saw soone else enter it — let alone achieved it themselves.

And yet, here it was. Happening. To all of them.

The enlightennt was triggered by witnessing William’s breakthrough — or as they called him, the Imperial Father — and being caught within the flood of Laws that had erged in its aftermath. It was like receiving a second opportunity layered over an already extraordinary event. A double blessing.

Those who had been struggling just to sense their Laws suddenly found themselves understanding. Not mastering, but connecting. Like one cultivator aligned with the Law of Fire — soone who, monts ago, couldn’t even feel a spark of it. Now, he was beginning to question fire. What is fla? What is heat? What causes it to burn? What is fire, truly?

It was like reading the first line of the first page of a great book. His questions pulled answers toward him — not complete, but enough. Enough to guide him.

And he wasn’t the only one.

Others felt it too. Whether their Laws were elental, spatial, or sothing more abstract, sothing that had once felt impossibly distant now sat within reach — not easy, but finally visible. The effort was still there, but it flowed now, instead of fighting back.

Ti passed strangely.

It slipped by without notice. Hours felt like seconds. It was as if the universe itself had quieted, holding its breath for those within the Law field.

And then... slowly... the web of Law that had filled the sky — a radiant structure woven like a spider’s web, yet born of the very Will of the Universe — began to fade.

Its work was done.

Bit by bit, it unraveled, withdrawing its presence. At exactly the twelfth hour since William’s final tribulation, the manifestation of the Laws vanished from the sky. Within another thirty minutes, even the residual energy dispersed fully.

And yet — not a single person stirred.

Not one soul awoke.

They were still deep within their enlightennt. Suspended in a mont beyond ti, learning truths that could change them forever.

They were still deep within their enlightennt — suspended in a mont beyond ti, imrsed in truths that could change them forever.

They didn’t forget what was happening outside. They simply ignored it.

They could feel the shift — the fading of law energy, the slowing of their insights — but none dared to awaken. Not yet. Because every one of them had co to understand just how rare this state was. To wake too early, to break that flow for any reason, might an losing sothing they could never recover. A critical realization. A turning point. A truth they might regret missing for the rest of their lives.

So of them understood even more: that the State of Enlightennt wasn’t sothing they could maintain by will. It didn’t obey desire or effort. It ca when it ca — and left just as easily. That’s why it was called a sudden enlightennt. It was never under their control. It was a gift, not a tool.

So, no one questioned the sudden slowing of their progress. No one panicked. No one spoke. The only thing on their minds was the Law — pure and absolute.

And just like that... more ti slipped by.

Another twelve hours passed. Then, one by one, so began to wake.

First one. Then two. Then four. Slowly, carefully, the senior mbers of the Void Fleet began to return from their trance-like states — but even then, they were different.

Though their eyes were open, their minds were still swimming in the divine currents of Law. Even in wakefulness, they were adrift, absorbing lingering traces of insight like ripples from a fading dream.

They had questions — many of them. They wanted to speak, to share, to compare their discoveries with their comrades. But no one dared to break the silence.

No one even wanted to make a sound.

They remained seated where they were, unmoving, honoring the stillness, unwilling to disturb those still locked in enlightennt. Even with a flicker of envy in their hearts, none of them dared to interfere. They all knew how rare this was. How sacred. An opportunity like this... to rob another of it, even accidentally, would be unforgivable.

And so, ti continued to move.

Two more hours passed.

More and more mbers of the Void Fleet gradually awoke. So with smiles. So in quiet awe. Almost everyone had returned from the depths of that state — almost everyone.

Except Kallus and his family.

They were the only ones still locked in their deep states of enlightennt — the very states they had entered at the start of their comprehension. While the rest of the Void Fleet had begun to awaken, Kallus and his family remained utterly still, untouched by ti.

The other mbers of the fleet waited patiently. No one moved. No one spoke. They understood: this was the Imperial Family — and their commander, Kallus, above all. They would not interrupt their process. They would not risk shattering that silence for anything less than divine necessity.

Another two hours passed.

Then — about eight minutes later — a shift.

Imperial Mother Alia opened her eyes.

Slowly. Gradually.

Everyone was watching. Every eye subtly drawn to her, though none dared make it obvious. And as her gaze lifted, sothing extraordinary happened.

A pulse of pure green light flickered across the room — cold, clean, and elental. For a brief instant, her once-blue irises turned a luminous green, before fading back to their usual color. It happened in a breath, but none of them missed it.

Whispers stirred in their minds — no one spoke, but they all wondered the sa thing.

What was that?

They didn’t understand it, not exactly, but they knew what it ant: sothing had changed. Sothing deep. So believed it was a sign that Alia had fully comprehended her Law — perhaps even mastered it. No one could say for sure.

Alia didn’t offer answers.

Her eyes moved quietly — first to Luna, still ditating in stillness, then to Kallus, and finally to her husband, William. Seeing them all still subrged in their enlightennt, she chose to remain silent. Like everyone else, she waited.

She closed her eyes once more, reflecting on her class and the transformation brought about by her deepening understanding of the Law of Life.

While she waited for her family to wake up naturally...

Two minutes later— William finally opened his eyes.

William smiled at his wife the mont he opened his eyes. A sudden yellowish gleam passed through him, briefly tinting his eyes a golden hue before they returned to their original jet-black color. Those nearby who noticed it exchanged glances, silently speculating.

So believed it might be a sign of his mastery over a particular elent, though they weren’t certain—they’d wait to ask after the Imperial Princess and the Imperial Commander awoke.

anwhile, William turned his gaze to his daughter and son, both still with eyes closed. He realized he had awakened before them, despite being the one who had struggled the most during the breakthrough. For a mont, he was taken aback—not entirely surprised, of course.

He had always known both were more talented—perhaps even monstrously so. He wasn’t far behind them, just as Alia hadn’t been. But still... it stung. After all, he was their father. The head of the house.

And yet now, he—the father, the leader—was being left in the dust. Just a speck behind, perhaps, but even that felt like an arrow lodged deep in his chest, piercing straight through his heart.
