Now reading: Chapter 38: CH-36 The Frustrated Kallus from Legacy of the Void Fleet, a Action novel by Drakethedestroyer.

He hadn't ntioned these thoughts during the eting—because even he wasn't entirely sure. But his gut told him he was right. There's so connection between the Imperial Commander of the Void Fleet and Earth...

"Oh well, I'll find out soon enough," he muttered to himself.

Turning his attention forward, he called out, "Falcon."

A mont later, the ship's AI materialized in her holographic form within his chamber. "You called for ?" she asked.

Bai's expression was serious. "Start gathering information on Kallus. Cross-check all available data across the world. We need to find out whether my suspicions are correct. If they are, then we might not need to worry too much about the Void Fleet itself—but we will have to adjust our plans accordingly." Falcon nodded, acknowledging the command before her holographic presence flickered and disappeared, leaving Chancellor Bai alone in his quarters.

With a tired sigh, he moved toward his bed, finally allowing himself so much-needed rest. He had been awake and engaged in back-to-back etings ever since the arrival of the Void Fleet—nearly a full day without sleep.

While the *Gene Unlocking Serum* had enhanced his physiology, allowing him to function without rest for extended periods, old habits were hard to break. Twenty years of routine had ingrained the need for sleep into his body, and besides, a well-rested mind was always sharper.

As exhaustion settled in, Bai let himself relax, knowing that tomorrow would bring even more challenges. While Chancellor Bai rested, aboard the Void Fleet's Obliterator-Class Dreadnought, Kallus finally returned to his private suite after a long day of discussions with various senior fleet mbers. However, his work was far from over.

Once his eting with Head Researcher Tyler concluded, he imdiately teleported to the office of Minister of Resources and Industry, Evans Patle. There, they had a detailed discussion regarding the two Antere-Class Battleships that had been under construction for nearly two days within two of the fleet's inbuilt shipyards.

Kallus inquired about their progress.

Evans responded confidently, "The construction is proceeding according to schedule. Barring any unforeseen delays, both battleships should be completed and ready for deploynt within five days."

Satisfied with the report, Kallus shifted the conversation to a far more critical topic—the nature of this universe. He explained the existence of cultivation, the various forms of supernatural energies, and their profound effects on everything. With their arrival in the Solar System set for three months from now, it was imperative that Evans understood the implications of these newfound forces.

He continued, detailing his prior discussion with Tyler about the urgent need for orbital shipyards. Fleet expansion was a necessity, and their current infrastructure was insufficient for large-scale production. They needed to begin constructing orbital shipyards imdiately to facilitate fleet manufacturing and expansion.

In addition, Kallus issued a direct order:

"Deploy all available mining vessels and reactivate the refineries. We need to maximize resource extraction and processing as soon as possible."

The minister replied enthusiastically, "Imperial Commander, you don't need to worry. Since our arrival, my team and I have been restless—we haven't had much to do. Only about 300-400 of our 1,500 mbers are currently working, while the rest of us have been growing bored. Honestly, I would have co to you myself if you hadn't arrived first.

Now that you've given us a briefing and ti is of the essence, I'll go straight to my team and begin deploying the mining vessels. After that, I'll et with Head Researcher Tyler to discuss the construction of the orbital shipyards. He can determine the scale of the operation, how much resources we need to extract, and other key considerations."

With that, he hurriedly stood up, saluted Kallus, and rushed off to carry out his tasks. Kallus, now alone in Evans' office, stood motionless, montarily stunned by the minister's sudden departure. The room, once buzzing with conversation, now felt eerily quiet.

His mouth twitched, and he inwardly cursed. What the hell is going on with these people? First Tyler, then Tessa—though she always does this—and now even Evans is acting like this. Damn it!

He stomped his foot and teleported to his suite. Once there, he had Red Empress send all the ship-related details to Fleet Admiral Ezra, leaving it up to him to decide how to coordinate the fleet. Whether he deploys 8 or all 15 different fleets—it's his problem, not mine.

With that thought, Kallus jumped into his bed, ready for a good sleep. He didn't feel physically or ntally exhausted—thanks to his Awakened Soul and enhanced physique, he was always in peak condition. But he still wanted to rest, preparing himself for the third day of his 3,000-day cultivation in the Universal Domain, which he would begin tomorrow.

I deserve a good sleep, right?

With that final thought, he closed his eyes, his consciousness drifting into dreams. While Kallus drifted into the realm of dreams, he unknowingly set off a chain of events that disturbed the sleep of a certain soone—soone who had only just fallen asleep themselves. And that person was none other than Star Fleet Chancellor Bai Zong qi.

As he had just settled into his well-earned rest, a sudden alert shattered the silence of his chambers. His eyes snapped open, irritation flashing across his face. What now?

Grumbling, Bai Zong qi sat up, already sensing that whatever had just happened was sohow connected to Kallus.Because as soon as the minister left, saying he would imdiately deploy the mining vessels and begin extracting resources from the asteroid, he wasted no ti. True to his word, within half an hour, all 300 mining vessels aboard the Obliterator-class Dreadnought began their deploynt.

This sudden large-scale operation triggered a chain reaction, one that didn't go unnoticed by their neighboring friendly Star Fleet. Sensors detected the abrupt activity, and with no prior warning, concerns quickly escalated. Protocol demanded they wake their Chancellor, Bai Zongqi, from his well-earned rest.

Annoyed and groggy, Bai Zongqi scowled as he processed the situation. Damn Kallus! he cursed internally. He had barely closed his eyes, and now he had to deal with this.

Without wasting ti, he ordered his subordinates, "Investigate imdiately. Find out what those Void Fleet vessels are doing." anwhile, in the Void Fleet's Research & Developnt Sector

Minister Evans teleported directly to the R&D Level, where he found Head Researcher Tyler in his office.

Without wasting ti, he got straight to the point

. "The Imperial Commander has instructed to et with you regarding the orbital shipyard. We need to discuss the necessary details and scale of the project."

Tyler nodded, already familiar with the topic. He had previously discussed the matter with Imperial Commander Kallus and had even been the one to propose the need for an orbital shipyard in the first place.

Before he could respond, a sudden knock at the door interrupted them.

The door slid open with a quiet hiss, revealing none other than Fleet Admiral Ezra.

Both Tyler and Minister Ezra were surprised by the sudden arrival—though they had expected Fleet Admiral Ezra to join them, his arrival this soon was unexpected, at least for Tyler.

In unison, they both acknowledged him, "Fleet Admiral Ezra."

Ezra gave them a brief nod. Since he , Tyler and Minister Ezra held the sa rank, there was no need for excessive formality between them. Still, he called out to them, "Minister Evans, Head Researcher Tyler," and nodded.

Fleet Admiral Ezra stepped forward, his expression composed yet authoritative. "I'm here under the Imperial Commander's orders," he stated.

"I need to review the designs for the various ship classes that Tyler has already presented. After that, I am scheduled to et with Minister Evans to determine the exact number of each ship type needed for fleet formation." His tone was direct, reflecting the importance of the task at hand.

As the overseer of resources and industry, Ezra was directly responsible for fleet production, making his involvent crucial to the project's success. The unexpected convergence of all three n in one place only underscored the sheer scale of the operation that Commander Kallus had set in motion.

Tyler looked to Admiral Ezra, nodding as he understood both his and Minister Evans's reason for visiting. Unsure of which matter to address first, he hesitated, glancing between the two n with a confused expression.

Finally, with a resigned sigh, he said, "I'll begin with the orbital shipyard. It's vital to our fleet's operations—without it, we can't even begin producing the required vessels at the pace needed to et the three-month deadline."

Finishing his statent, Tyler turned toward Admiral Ezra, seeking his input. Ezra replied,

"I have no problem with that. After all, we don't yet have enough facilities to build those ships anyway. What's the point of knowing all the details? You don't have to worry—just focus on the orbital shipyard and the related tasks. I'll simply listen in.

"Tyler nodded and said, "Shall we find a place to sit and continue our discussion?"
