Chapter 1265: Chapter 1265: Killing Soone with a Borrowed Knife

In this world, there exists a type of people known as the fawning dogs.

And within the realm of fawners, there are supre fawners.

Solaris Grove, was a king among fawning dogs.

Half an hour ago, he was drinking sullenly alone with Princess Baylor Davenport’s photo, and swore to forget this woman.

In fact, a year earlier, Solaris had once relayed a marriage proposal through the Right Minister.

On one side was the great General of The North Sea, known for his archery, the adopted son of the Right Minister.

On the other side was the clever and sweet-faced Princess of The North Sea.

A truly gifted man and a beautiful woman, they seed a match made in heaven.

Even King Everton Davenport of The North Sea wanted to help facilitate this marriage.

However, Princess Baylor Davenport seed uninterested in matters of the heart, and after her gentle refusal, she wrote a letter bluntly telling Solaris to get over it.

Yet a year had passed.

And Solaris Grove, instead of forgetting Princess Baylor Davenport, had fallen even deeper in love.

Now, upon hearing Devlin’s words, his heart, which had grown quiet, began to stir once again.

“You’re not lying to ?”

Solaris Grove stopped Devlin at the door, not letting him in.

The inside was too disheveled, littered with scattered bottles of alcohol.

The great General of The North Sea in such disarray would surely be a laughingstock.

“Of course.”

Devlin still covered his face with black cloth and spoke with an indifferent tone: “There’s only one chance, do you want it or not?”

“I do!”

Without any hesitation, Solaris imdiately agreed: “Speak.”

His two simple words revealed the longing in his heart.

“Let’s step aside to talk,” Devlin said, pushing Solaris’s hand away and striding inside.

The room was filled with the pungent sll of alcohol, very unpleasant.

Devlin slightly covered his nose with his hand, sat on the sofa, and habitually took a cigarette from his pocket.

“You’d better be prepared, this matter is of great importance, I must ask you a question first.”

“Go ahead!”

The previously desolate Solaris, now as excited as if injected with new life, replied.

“For Princess Baylor Davenport, would you be willing to do anything?” Devlin flicked his lighter and lit the cigarette in his mouth.

After exhaling a ring of smoke, he said lightly, “Think carefully before answering .”

“I am willing!” Solaris nodded with no hesitation at all: “I am willing to do anything.”

“Very good!”

Devlin leaned forward, flicking his cigarette ashes into the ashtray on the coffee table: “Everton Davenport is not truly Everton Davenport. Don’t rush to be astonished, I have a few more questions to ask you.”

He looked at the sowhat surprised Solaris in front of him and made a ‘hush’ gesture: “Have you felt that Everton Davenport has changed? It seems, he wants to topple the entirety of The North Sea.”

“This…” Solaris hesitated, unsure of how to begin.

“The Left Minister and Right Minister have both been the mighty pillars of The North Sea. How many years have we stood in peace? But curiously, ever since the son-in-law of The North Sea arrived, The North Sea has plunged into chaos.”

Devlin spoke while leaning back on the sofa with the cigarette in his mouth: “Odd, isn’t it?”

“A little.”

Although Solaris had quite a bit to drink, his mind was still clear.

After hearing these words, he thought carefully and felt that it actually made sense.

Ever since the Dragon Slayer had arrived at the North Sea court, first the two supervisors from the Commissioner’s Office were killed, followed by the discord between the Left and Right Ministers, and even General Brandon t a tragic death in his room.

His own arrow was the deadly weapon.

The previously peaceful North Sea suddenly beca a chaotic ss.

“Mr. Devlin ans…” Solaris had a bad premonition.

“Mad Dragon hasn’t died, but instead, has replaced Everton Davenport to beco the new King of The North Sea.” As soon as Devlin uttered these words, Solaris nearly collapsed onto the floor.

“We mustn’t speak carelessly!”

Solaris Grove swallowed hard, his body trembling slightly: “Evidence? Is there any evidence?”

“With The North Sea in such chaos, isn’t that evidence enough? Besides, would Everton Davenport easily marry off his daughter?”

Devlin pressed the cigarette butt into the ashtray and stood up, looking at Solaris Grove: “The opportunity is right before you. Rescuing the Left and Right Ministers to expose the conspiracy of Mad Dragon and The North Sea’s son-in-law, not only can you save The North Sea’s royal court, but you can also win the favor of the princess.”

“The most important thing is, you can kill The North Sea’s son-in-law and avenge your previous humiliation.”

That last sentence was imnsely tempting to Solaris Grove.

He hated!

His hatred had been gradually suppressed in his heart.

But once Solaris Grove learned that Mad Dragon wasn’t dead, and that the so-called son-in-law of The North Sea was in cahoots with Mad Dragon, having snatched away his love and humiliated him ti and again!

The rage in Solaris Grove’s heart erupted like the magma in the mountains!

“What should I do!”

He clenched his fists tightly, staring intently at Devlin’s back.

“At the banquet, rescue the Left and Right Ministers, and expose Mad Dragon in front of everyone. Only then, with the collective effort of The North Sea’s royal court, can Princess Baylor Davenport be saved. And once Everton Davenport is released, you naturally beco the best candidate for the son-in-law.”

Devlin spoke coldly with his hands behind his back: “As for the rescue, we at Bead Pulse will take care of it. But we need you to contact the Right Minister’s subordinates to trap the grand hall of The North Sea.”

“I can!”

Solaris Grove picked up a bottle of wine from the table and drank deeply.

“I’ll take this bet with you! If you deceive , our fates will be no different!” After saying this, he wiped his mouth with his sleeve and left the room.

“Deceive you? I’m not even sure what’s true or false myself. But the chances are high it’s true. Though without complete certainty, I, Devlin, would not personally take action. Let’s have you, the fool, scout the way for .”

Devlin smiled, took out a cigarette from his pocket, planted it in the wine bottle, and turned to leave.

Julius Reed had not gone far.

After spanking Baylor Davenport, he did feel quite regretful.

After all, his hand was a bit numb.

Not long after, Baylor Davenport’s personal maid left mysteriously.

It seed she was carrying out so order given by Baylor Davenport.

This maid was about to execute that order.

The thoughts of a woman were often quite frightening.

Thus, Julius Reed found Larkin Weather.

He had previously heard by chance that Larkin Weather seed to have a good relationship with that maid.

And when Baylor Davenport ca from Five-river Province to Star City, she did not bring back a maid, still using the one who had served her previously in the royal court.

Ever since Larkin Weather found out Julius Reed’s real identity, his usual composure was long gone.

He was also extra diligent in getting things done.

Hearing that he needed to scout for news from that maid, Larkin Weather put down his work and hurriedly ran toward the imperial physician’s office.

“Son-in-law!”

Ten minutes later, Larkin Weather returned, panting for breath.

“Did you find out anything?”

Julius Reed was very curious as to what Baylor Davenport was up to.

“Son-in-law, I heard from that maid that the princess asked her to get so Knockout Drug from the imperial physician’s office. They plan to drug you into unconsciousness, then castrate you with a knife – and even spread so mustard oil on it!”

Larkin Weather broke into a cold sweat.

“Really?”

Julius Reed asked, raising an eyebrow.

This woman, she was indeed malicious.

“Absolutely certain!”

Larkin Weather nodded in reply.

“It seems I need to use soone else to take the fall.” Julius Reed chuckled lightly, a person’s image surfacing in his mind.

Solaris Grove.

This knife blow might need Solaris Grove to take the hit for him.

After all, he still had use for his own.
