Chapter 1393: Chapter 1393: Fortune Telling

Indeed, Gabriel Abernathy did not deceive him.

Julius Reed really died.

Baylor Davenport, wearing a white flower on her head and clad in plain clothes, rode a tall and magnificent horse through the streets of Swimming City.

At such a young age, she beca a widow.

Others, when their husbands died, displayed grief and wandered in a daze.

But Baylor Davenport on the horse was radiant, her eyes constantly looking around.

If not for the plain clothes and the white cloth, Julius Reed would have thought it was a wedding, given her cheerful deanor.

The Righteous Mansion was located in the old district, not too far from the north gate of Swimming City.

The envoy from The North Sea coming from Star City happened to enter through the northern gate.

Indeed, enemies often cross each other’s paths.

The streets were almost empty, with only the envoy from The North Sea in a procession and Julius Reed standing at the entrance of Righteous Mansion.

Close to Baylor Davenport, Solaris Grove was riding a tall and mighty horse, impressive indeed!

However, this was within expectations.

Retrieving the Divine Dragon Tripod was indeed a great accomplishnt.

Unfortunately, he was a eunuch.

Eunuchs are destined not to be considered n, nor can they beco kings; at most, they can be a Chief Eunuch in the imperial household.

However.

Seeing Baylor Davenport chatting and laughing with him, Julius Reed felt he was truly a kind-hearted person.

Since Solaris Grove and Baylor Davenport were dood to never be lovers, becoming sisters seed not too bad either.

The delegation from The North Sea was very high-profile.

Despite the white cloth on a procession of hundreds, the splendor was difficult to hide.

Baylor Davenport rode side by side with Solaris Grove on the majestic Mont Horses, leading at the very front.

Behind them flew several golden flags of The North Sea with nine-clawed golden dragons.

Further back was a pure gold carriage, and even a fleet of carts.

Seeing the distance closing, Julius Reed hastily pulled out a golden mask from his pocket and put it on his face.

After all, his face was recognized in The North Sea.

Without Gabriel Abernathy around and both masks now useless, he feared he could only act with discretion from now on.

The issue was…

Julius Reed sighed.

He wanted to keep a low profile, but feared his strength would not permit it.

“Hey, gatekeeper!”

When the envoy from The North Sea passed by Righteous Mansion’s entrance, they suddenly stopped.

Solaris Grove held a horsewhip in his hand, pointing at Julius Reed and asking from his high position, “Which way to the City Lord’s Mansion?”

Julius Reed turned around and looked all around.

The streets were empty and deserted.

Most of the properties in this old district where the Righteous Mansion was located were manors like this.

Rarely did idle people walk on these roads.

Those who lived here were either wealthy or slaves.

Clearly, Solaris Grove mistook Julius Reed for the latter.

But this outfit, how could he look like a servant?

Julius Reed looked himself up and down, still finding it hard to understand.

Are people from The North Sea always this overbearing?

“I’m talking to you!” Solaris Grove, prestigious as ever, holding his horsewhip, spoke sternly, “Tell the way to the City Lord’s Mansion, how do you get there!”

“You’re talking to ?”

Julius Reed pointed to himself, slightly surprised, “May I ask who you all are…?”

At this mont, Solaris Grove no longer had the ragged appearance he once had in Star City.

Unaware, one would find it hard to believe that such a dignified General could actually be a eunuch!

“Nonsense! Look around this street, besides you, is there anyone else?” Solaris Grove turned his head and imdiately put on a different face, “Princess, please don’t be hasty. This uncouth boor doesn’t recognize what’s good for him. I’ll teach him a lesson!”

“On this trip, we carry a mission entrusted by our king, we must not cause trouble without reason,” Baylor Davenport said coldly.

“Understood!”

Solaris Grove urged his Mont Horse forward, facing Julius Reed.

He was t with a cold shoulder, but he dared not show his anger towards Baylor Davenport.

A fawning dog, though a fawning dog, could turn into a Tibetan mastiff if provoked with a different target.

“Don’t be ungrateful! We are the envoy from The North Sea, visiting Swimming City by invitation from the City Lord’s Mansion. If you delay us, be wary of your head!”

Solaris Grove’s tone was cold, and he didn’t even bother to give Julius Reed a proper look.

“Sorry, I am a blind man,” Julius Reed stood at the doorway, hands folded in front of him, helplessly saying, “I ca to Swimming City following my master, and I am unfamiliar with it.”

“A blind man?”

Solaris Grove lowered his head, inspecting the youth before him for the first ti.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, he drew an arrow and swiftly aid for Julius Reed’s eyes!

The arrow tip stopped less than a centiter from the eyes.

It halted.

“So, he really is blind.” Solaris Grove put away the arrow with so irritation, “Pah! What bad luck!”

It was obvious that he was quite pleased with himself in The North Sea.

Otherwise, he would never be so arrogant.

“A blind man, surviving in Swimming City?” Baylor Davenport shook his head, preparing to ride away.

“A blind man, of course, has the skills of a blind man.”

Julius Reed said leisurely, “I surmise, Miss, that you must have lost your husband.”

“Hmph!”

Baylor Davenport yanked on the reins, her tone suddenly changing, “Say that again!”

After this statent, including Solaris Grove, all eyes from The North Sea turned to him.

It was too accurate!

The North Sea son-in-law had been injured a few days ago in a fierce fight with bandits.

That very night, he passed away.

The adversary was extrely powerful, so much so that even Everton Davenport himself couldn’t stop them.

However, if the other party were a normal person, seeing these plain clothes, they could have guessed as much.

But the problem now was, the other party was blind!

“What nonsense are you spouting!” Just as Solaris Grove was about to lose his temper, Baylor Davenport interrupted.

“Blind man, you claim to be a fortune teller?”

Baylor Davenport looked at Julius Reed with interest.

However, his face was covered with a veil.

His features were indiscernible.

But a pair of eyes, indeed sowhat captivating.

From The North Sea to Swimming City, the journey was dull and tedious, and Baylor Davenport was looking for so amusent.

“Indeed.” Julius Reed nodded but then shook his head, “Because my predictions are too accurate, it’s easy to be silenced by murder. Hence, I guess the young lady wants to do so fortune-telling. I’m sorry, but I refuse.”

Having said that, Julius Reed turned to leave.

But suddenly, a sword appeared!

The sword blade was just 0.01 milliters from his neck.

Julius Reed stopped in his tracks.

He turned around.

His eyes, void and expressionless.

“Why trouble unnecessarily.”

He said, gently pushing the sword blade away.

But the sword seed to be drawn even tighter.

“Three questions, if you answer all correctly, I won’t kill you,” Baylor Davenport leaned in slightly, her face playful, “First, who am I?”

“The Pearl of The North Sea.”

Julius Reed rely uttered four words, yet they added a touch of gravity to Baylor Davenport’s expression.

“The second question.”

Baylor Davenport beca sowhat serious, “I ca to Swimming City, what for?”

“The world bustles along, all for profit. I’ve heard, a treasure has recently appeared in Swimming City,” Julius Reed said half of what he ant, the understanding ones would naturally comprehend.

“The last question!” Baylor Davenport’s sword edged closer once more, “Today, will I kill you?”

A question of life and death!

Julius Reed laughed confidently, “No!”

“Oh?”

Baylor Davenport similarly chuckled, “You’re wrong. I will send you on your way right now!”

As she spoke, her sword thrust fiercely!

“With just a eunuch, a princess of a fallen nation?”

As Julius Reed finished speaking, Baylor Davenport’s sword stopped mid-thrust.

“Fortune Teller, the General invites you in, there’s important business to discuss!” Just then, the Righteous Mansion’s gate was pushed open.

A number of The North Sea guards rushed out, surrounding Julius Reed.
