The night is deep, yet the people are not quiet.

The once noisy small grove suddenly turns desolate.

It seems everyone unanimously gives space for the commander, vacating the tents and moving hundreds of ters away to continue their rrymaking.

It looks like no enemies will co by recently.

They don’t need to be on edge.

In the central tent of the grove, Dorian Cook finally can lie on the bed.

She’s almost forgotten what lying on a bed feels like.

Comfortable.

Although it’s just a simple temporary outdoor bed, compared to the cold bench at the Black Pine League, it’s indeed much more comfortable.

Dorian Cook really doesn’t want to get up.

"Miss, we et again." Julius Reed lifts the tent flap and walks slowly towards her.

"Yes, we et again. Last ti I should have scolded you, but this ti, I really should thank you." Dorian Cook turns her head, gently blinking her right eye, very playfully cute.

Even though her tattered cheongsam and bright red lips make her look like a youthful lady long worn by the dust of life.

But Dorian Cook’s blink is reminiscent of a playfully cute girl.

One must admit, to a normal man, resisting this temptation is nearly impossible.

"If I were captured by that bastard, my fate would be miserable." Dorian Cook once again acts pitifully charming, pouting softly, saying coquettishly: "That bastard would beat , and possibly even take my life."

"Then how do you know, I wouldn’t take your life?" Julius Reed grips the Breaking Heaven Sword, lightly disguised from the Break Sky Knife, gently pressing it on Dorian Cook’s arm.

"I know you wouldn’t treat so roughly. Since you saved , from now on, I am yours." Dorian Cook puffs her red lips, her tongue slowly extending.

"Alright." Julius Reed lightly traces the blade in his hand.

Slash!

Dorian Cook painfully sits up, completely disregarding her near-collapsed body.

"You..." She looks at her wrist in horror, not knowing what to say.

The scar on her wrist turns pitch black, as if charred.

However, fortunately, it’s just a single scar.

If it were deeper...

Dorian Cook dare not imagine.

She gulps, woodenly turns her head, looking at Julius Reed: "What you hold in your hand..."

"Years ago, my brother picked up a piece of iron on a desolate mountain and forged this sword from it. I nad it Sky."

Julius Reed rotates the longsword in his hand while pointing at the Apricot watermark at his waist: "This one, I call Autumn Water."

"But..." Dorian Cook is utterly shocked, her eyes vacant, her mind blank.

"I know what you want to ask, and now I will answer you: Your guess is correct, this sword can kill you mbers of the Undead Tribe."

Speaking, Julius Reed places the sword on Dorian Cook’s neck: "Two paths, die miserably, or live brightly."

A whole minute passes before Dorian Cook regains her composure, her eyes still containing remnants of astonishnt.

"I... can still live?" At this mont, she’s devoid of that reckless charm.

In its place, a sense of bewildernt.

Or rather, disbelief.

"Of course you can live." Julius Reed chuckles lightly: "The choice is yours."

"What do you want to do?" Dorian Cook’s eyes flash with a hint of curiosity.

What’s been happening lately?

Murphy Michael was killed, and now she’s being threatened.

It seems that disobedience only results in losing one’s life.

But, it’s better than falling into Sutton’s hands.

Having worked for him for years, she knows her forr superior all too well.

"First, let’s chat. Tell why you’re helping Cold Nelson." Julius Reed sheathes the longsword at his side: "I assu you want to live. If you wish to die, one sword strike is all it takes."

"Okay, I’ll talk." Dorian Cook bites her lip, sits on the edge of the bed, both hands anxiously clutching the cheongsam, her eyes full of unease.

"Initially... Initially, I wanted to wait until the emperor was rescued before appearing."

She raises her head, looking at Julius Reed: "But one day, people from the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance found and brought a special token."

"What kind of token, quickly tell." Julius Reed pulls over a chair, pours himself a cup of tea, and lounges on it with his legs crossed, listening.

"You might not know how the emperor ended up becoming the leader of the Undead Tribe."

"This is a top-secret; if I tell you everything, you must not kill . Otherwise..."

At this point, Dorian Cook doesn’t know how to continue.

A threat?

It seems she’s in no position to negotiate.

"I have always been compassionate." Julius Reed nods, raises his teacup to signal her to continue.

"Let ask sothing." Dorian Cook lowers her head, cautiously peeking at Julius Reed, like a child fearing punishnt for wrongdoing. "Are you... a eunuch?"

"Pfft..."

Julius Reed sprays a mouthful of tea onto her face and suddenly stands up: "Miss, you can’t just throw out insults!"

"I... pretend I didn’t ask." For so reason, Dorian Cook recalls the eunuchs guarding her at the Black Pine League.

Few n in the world are so composed upon seeing her.

Yet in his eyes, there’s not a ripple.

"You better talk about that token; I worry that my sword is as cold as my heart." Julius Reed remarks leisurely.

"The emperor... the emperor once betrayed his master, Master Emperor. Then, he beca the tribal leader. It was by relying on the emperor that we attained our eternal life today." Dorian Cook finishes saying, beginning to untie her clothing, revealing large patches of snow-white skin.

"The emperor’s ntor, whom we always call Master Emperor. But it’s strange, apart from Master Emperor, all of us have pale skin, unable to live as normal people. We are sohow more sensitive to pain than ordinary people."

"Master Emperor disappeared. Specifically where, we aren’t sure. This has long been the Undead Tribe’s secret that we dare not inquire."

"Years ago, we were all under Master Emperor’s command. But now, to avoid death, we can only turn to the emperor. Back then, Master Emperor was unwilling to grant immortality to anyone. It was exactly this reason that we loyally follow the emperor."

"But strangely, the person who ca to find one day showed a token that turned out to be Master Emperor’s token."

"That token couldn’t be fake. People from that era, including Sutton, all recognize it."

I was curious, so I followed the person to Demarco Mount.

"After arriving, I found out the one holding the token is indeed a descendant of Master Emperor."

"I didn’t suspect because that person, like Master Emperor, is completely a normal person."

"She offered conditions hard to refuse, asking to serve her. As for the emperor... back then, that position rightfully belonged to Master Emperor."

"Her na is Eliezer Pine, the true controller of Demarco Mount now."

"By her side, there’s a lick-spittle. Doesn’t seem to be one of our Undead Tribe."

Dorian Cook recalls.

"Wood?" Julius Reed raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, I heard Eliezer Pine calling him Little Wood." Dorian Cook suddenly cos back to her senses, sowhat surprised: "How did you know?"
