Capítulo 2022: Chapter 2022: Harbinger of Death

Julius Reed had a very good temper.

He seldom got angry.

But today, he was having so trouble controlling himself.

The damn wishing pool had no power at all and was instead using him as a tool!

Han Caldwell was indeed dead.

But it was he who killed him.

Julius Reed even suspected that his appearance at the temple on the Boulevard had long been part of so grand design.

If that were the case, it would be truly terrifying.

That would an he really had beco a pawn.

However, the likelihood of that was not great.

Unlike the well that tempted Pranay Martinez, the wishing pool was rely an ordinary, mindless tool.

And there in that well with Pranay Martinez was Osher Reed.

Osher Reed’s seductive guidance ultimately revealed his desire to occupy Pranay Martinez’s body.

Pranay Martinez knew this at first.

But the temptation was too great, and he lost himself.

There was no retreat for him whatsoever.

The wishing pool in front had no mory.

In other words, it was just the most ordinary wishing pool back then.

What was worshipped in the temple was naturally called a god.

For a god to have credibility, the most frequently ntioned thing was what people now called manifestation.

Such manifestations took many forms.

Many tis, when a divine beast passed by, it would be regarded as a deity.

The most powerful golden dragon in those days had revealed its true form nurous tis, making people mistake it for a divine dragon’s blessing.

In the end, it was all ant to deceive.

But such deception could only make people believe, not convince them.

And the convincing way was to have wishes co true.

Those who prayed to gods, once their wishes were fulfilled, would beco devoutly faithful to those deities.

Through the wishing pool, they could control people’s thoughts.

Over ti, gods beca ingrained in people’s hearts.

Of course.

The wishing pool would not grant everyone’s wishes.

They only needed to grant one in a thousand to trigger a chain reaction, causing more and more people to believe.

But granting wishes naturally cos with repaynt.

In this regard, the wishing pool was like a program set by the temple.

chanically executed.

Once a wish was fulfilled, the temple would take sothing away.

Because they executed chanically, there were situations like the cat that wished for a mouse and was about to die.

They were not just targeting humans.

Now that rrill Caldwell’s wish was granted, the wishing pool would forcibly demand repaynt.

Controlling the wisher was quite simple.

Anyone making a wish had to drink a mouthful of the wishing pool’s water.

But once the water was drunk…

They would be beyond their own control.

“Did you drink the water inside?” Julius Reed ignored the cat dying on the ground and pointed to the wishing pool, asking, “Answer .”

“Yes… I think?” rrill Caldwell was obviously both shocked and frightened, answering with unease: “I might have accidentally swallowed so while swimming.”

“Then how did you make your wish, explain it to . This concerns your life and death.” Julius Reed sternly said.

“Ah?” rrill Caldwell was obviously scared. “Really…”

“The more you delay, the more dangerous it becos.” Julius Reed reminded.

rrill Caldwell beca the Caldwell Family Head, although with his help, she herself possessed so capability.

“After bathing, I knelt by the shore and prayed for revenge. As long as Han Caldwell died, I was willing to pay any price.”

After rrill Caldwell finished speaking, she suddenly felt a burning sensation on the back of her neck.

“Brother, what’s happening to my back?”

She was terrified and uneasy.

“Nothing, you probably are going to die.” Julius Reed said calmly.

His eyes never left the water’s surface.

If this was indeed the wishing pool in front of him, it wasn’t that big of a deal.

The mark was just that—a mark.

It was a mark used by the wishing pool to find people.

The real work was done, not by the wishing pool.

But by the temple people.

Whoosh!

Half a minute later!

The wishing pool surged with a massive wave!

Water droplets rained down on rrill Caldwell!

“Brother, save !” rrill Caldwell was truly scared.

She stood there, crying continually.

“It’s okay.” Julius Reed pulled her, quickly retreating. “With here, you can’t die.”

“Really?” rrill Caldwell cried as she ran.

“Have I ever lied to you?” Julius Reed finished speaking, thought for a mont, and said to himself, “Well, I have.”

When the water landed, it instantly lted the ice and snow.

From the water mist, an old man walked out.

The old man held a pale blue scythe, slowly approaching rrill Caldwell.

“Who… who is he! How did he get in!” rrill Caldwell was trembling.

This was the Boulevard’s heartland!

And also the Caldwell family’s backyard.

It was entirely impossible to sneak in!

With all kinds of surveillance, martial artists, and patrolling guards, it’s impossible not to notice.

The only possibility of the old man appearing was!

He walked out from the pool…

“The gods are always fair, giving you what you need in exchange for what I want.”

The old man spoke calmly, taking a few steps to stand in front of rrill Caldwell.

“Is there soone else?” The old man looked at Julius Reed, seemingly recognizing him but couldn’t recall exactly.

“What a coincidence, then I grant you the privilege to beco a servant of the god. Serve with your life.” He said, raising his hand slowly, reaching towards Julius Reed.

“President Haw!” Julius Reed looked at the old man in front of him, sowhat surprised.

The global Martial Arts Association president was actually controlled.

It seed Trenton Smith was indeed invaded back then, killing the president after returning to headquarters.

The current president was the entity that erged through Old Eight back then.

“Do you know ?” The old man’s extended hand paused. “I’m no longer the president; I am a god.”

“What a coincidence.” Julius Reed drew out the Break Sky Knife, smiling as he spoke: “I love killing those who claim to be gods.”

“Gods are invincible.” The old man raised the scythe, charging straight at rrill Caldwell!

The mark was still there.

As long as the mark was there, he would instinctively take the other’s life.

After dealing with this woman, he would turn to handle this unknown kid who appeared out of nowhere.

Killing rrill Caldwell was his instinctive response.

Nothing more.

That mark would provoke his killing intent!

Unresistable!

“I personally sent you all underground back then, and now you’ve forgotten?” Julius Reed let out a cold laugh, standing in front of rrill Caldwell, his tone calm. “It seems you really do forget the pain after healing.”

“Hmm?”

The old man slightly frowned.

Every bodily change was an evolution for them.

Old Eight hadn’t had this awareness back then and, after going through several people, the temple’s entities beca increasingly intelligent.

“It’s you?” The old man raised the scythe and swung it straight!

Clang!

A clash!

Sparks flew everywhere!

Break Sky Knife clashed with the scythe, igniting a ghostly blue fla.

“I’ve always been curious if this thing could kill you.” Julius Reed’s lips curved into a smile. “But now, I should be getting my answer.”

With that, he swung forward with full force!

Seven Consecutive Slashes!
