Capítulo 2256: Chapter 2256: Land of Mystery

After the imperial teacher’s coffin was carried out, a beggar in ragged clothes knocked on it.

A very deep sound ca from the coffin.

To build this coffin, many excellent materials were used.

Besides gold, there were sturdy tals inside.

Once the coffin was dug out, it couldn’t be easily opened.

Icy, solid, with traps—a unique feature of this coffin.

The imperial teacher originally prepared this coffin for himself, not for Julius Reed.

His death was predestined long ago.

The beggar knocked again, realizing the coffin’s solidity, attempted to open it was futile, so he gave up.

On a pitch-black night, he walked around the coffin in circles.

Finally, on the ninety-ninth circle, he stopped.

The beggar lay on the coffin, listening with his ear.

But he heard nothing from inside.

Very quiet.

As if there lay a dead body inside.

The beggar stepped back, suddenly charged forward!

His hands slamd heavily on the coffin!

Bang!

A muffled sound like thunder spread through the still night.

The beggar shook from the shock, retreating several steps.

He steadied himself, walked to the coffin, aid for the latch, and smashed down again!

With a clatter, the coffin’s latch shattered.

The beggar lifted the heavy coffin lid, looking at the already deceased imperial teacher inside.

He reached out, inserting his hand into the wound on the imperial teacher’s chest.

Pulled out a dragon scale and a still beating heart.

Left.

Originally, the wound was covered by a sword.

Julius Reed struck the longsword away, exposing the wound, giving the beggar a chance to touch it.

After the beggar left.

The imperial teacher suddenly opened his eyes.

Blood continuously dripping from the corner of his mouth.

In the mysterious forest.

Trent Marsh, wearing leather boots, wielding a long knife, traversed the perilous jungle alone.

This place is different from the outside woods.

Many plants, unseen elsewhere.

The few seen before, ones said extinct in books.

Yet here, everywhere.

Growing like weeds, possessing no preciousness.

Trent Marsh pushed through obstacles, erging before a cave.

“I seek West Mountain Month.” He called into the cave.

“Who goes there!”

An arrogant voice echoed from inside the cave.

“Trent Marsh.”

Trent Marsh replied stolidly.

No response for a long ti in the cave.

After a while, the voice was noticeably more restrained. “May I ask, is it Trent from the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance?”

“Correct.” Trent replied, “it’s .”

“Lord Marsh, please wait.”

The voice in the cave was now full of respect, utterly different from before.

Just a na was enough to intimidate those inside.

After half a minute.

A person walked out from the cave.

“Lord Marsh, please!”

This person dressed in an ancient style, akin to people from thousands of years ago.

He gestured to the cave interior: “They are all waiting for you.”

“Good!” Trent Marsh clasped his hands behind his back, gripping the long knife as he stepped inside.

The cave was pitch black initially, but as he proceeded, light began to appear.

Everywhere were oil lamps, devoid of modern traces.

Electricity here, a nonexistent concept.

“Lord Theodore Marsh grace us with your presence, what do you instruct?”

Upon reaching inside, soone exclaid.

“Last ti Lord Theodore Marsh ca here was over five thousand years ago! How co you suddenly thought of us after all these years?”

Another voice chid in.

Trent Marsh stood central, surveying the hostile martial artists, extending his hand: “I need to eliminate soone; whoever can assist will receive it!”

Clatter!

He opened his palm, a cascade of tokens fell out.

Roughly estimating, there were five or six.

“Really?” Soone stood up, eyeing the tokens aglow.

“Genuine. I, Trent Marsh, never speak falsehoods. Now, Silvio Reed is missing, my words hold sway.”

Trent Marsh eyed the elder who questioned: “There’s only one person. First co, first served.”

“I’ll go!”

A middle-aged man leapt forward.

His face adorned with a full beard, greed apparent.

“Do you think you can just claim my items by wanting them?” Trent Marsh sneered, retracting the tokens, sizing up the man: “First, you must pass my test.”

“Alright!”

The man instantly drew his longsword, slashing towards Trent Marsh like lightning!

Clang!

The long knife in Trent Marsh’s hand blocked in front, clashing with the sword.

The next instant, he pushed forward!

Screech!

Sparks flew, the blade pressed against the man’s chest!

Although the sword blocked, Trent Marsh exerted lightly, sending the man flying!

“You can’t withstand even one move from , yet wish to take this item? Wake up, you’ll only ruin my plans.” Trent Marsh sheathed the long knife, speaking coldly.

The man unwilling but still gripping his sword returned, his eyes filled with resentnt and anguish.

“Blue Shirt, try it.” An old man with white hair pointed at a youth.

The youth nodded, stood up, and walked to Trent Marsh.

“What skills do you have?” Trent Marsh was direct.

He was here to find soone to dispose of Julius Reed.

Investigating Silvio Reed’s case along the way.

Silvio’s disappearance was very bizarre.

Possibly involving a Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance betrayal.

This is Trent Marsh’s urgent task now, as for Julius Reed, he thought of a better solution.

The earlier strike had only one purpose.

Intimidating this group, letting them know he was still Trent Marsh.

And not tolerate their insolence.

“Lord Marsh, forgive .” Blue Shirt cupped his hands, but didn’t move.

“Attack.” Trent Marsh showed little anticipation, still too young.

“You first.” Blue Shirt didn’t move.

“?” Trent Marsh was sowhat impatient, but as he prepared to act, realized he couldn’t move.

“Hmm?” He looked down, noticed Blue Shirt’s foot right on his shadow.

“Intriguing.” He exerted slightly but still couldn’t budge.

Crack!

Trent Marsh burst with intense power, finally breaking free of Blue Shirt’s control.

“Very capable, what’s this technique?” He was highly interested.

Able to step on soone’s shadow and immobilize them.

In a life-or-death mont, even a brief motion halt could be fatal.

“I look forward to you.” He tossed a string of tokens to Blue Shirt, also handed a photograph: “Find him, kill him. Rember, he’s greatly wounded, don’t target the heart.”

“Alright.” Blue Shirt took the tokens, raised them high.

Cheering erupted in the cave,

This token ant they could leave, not continue living in darkness.

Back when the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance swept through the martial arts world, Trent Marsh and Silvio Reed confined so elite martial artists to consolidate power.

They were lucky, surviving multiple massacres.

Yet, they were unfortunate.

Only able to delve into martial arts here, confronting death.

Now, with the tokens, a few could leave here.

Start anew.
