Julius Reed sat cross-legged in the woods.
Strangely, Boulevard was covered in blood, but there wasn’t much snow here.
The ground was slightly damp, and there was even a sweet scent in the air.
The trickling sound of water reached Julius’s ears, and he realized that it was warm here.
The hot springs of the Kunlun Mountains were quite precious.
Almost every martial arts family in Kunlun would build their residence over a hot spring.
Everything around the hot spring was so warm.
But here, there were no buildings; only a nearby unfrozen spring.
The surrounding trees still had leaves, displaying a prosperous scene.
Julius took a deep breath, focusing all his attention.
The voice appeared briefly and then vanished.
In his demigod state, Julius didn’t feel any fear, it was just a remnant soul.
It posed no threat to him.
"Kid, you’re thrice blessed to have your body possessed by . In the future, I’ll use your body to bed won and slay masters. You may rest in peace."
After a period of silence, the voice again echoed in Julius’s ears.
Soon, an old man appeared in Julius’s ntal world.
The old man wore a yellow robe, had red hair, wore black cloth shoes, and carried a horsetail whisk in his hand.
He had one hand behind his back and held the whisk in the other, constantly pacing.
"What a fine body, what a fine body!" The old man seed very pleased with Julius’s body, his face gleaming with excitent, and he couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "Far better than the bodies of those wastes from the Lu family, I’ve finally found the right body!"
"Did you co out of the Zodiac Lotus Shadow?" Julius also appeared in his spiritual realm.
His will had condensed into a version of himself.
From the outside, he seed to be ditating under the tree with his eyes shut.
But in truth, Julius’s consciousness now stood before the old man.
"Oh? I seem to have underestimated you." The old man appeared slightly surprised at Julius’s appearance but quickly dismissed that surprise.
He examined the person before him, nodding, "Of course, soone with such a perfect body couldn’t possibly be weak. I saw your battle earlier. You’re the first in thousands of years to break through my power."
He didn’t seem to care about the original owner of the body appearing.
Nor did he appear particularly surprised.
"So, who are you?" Julius was very interested in the Zodiac Lotus Shadow, and now he wanted to confirm if this old man was the Lu family’s so-called Heart Demon.
The Heart Demon, as a concept, was strange.
Many issues could be attributed to the Heart Demon.
Martial artists have countless paths of cultivation, and it’s inevitable that so might practice offbeat techniques that harm the body.
Back then, without the modern understanding of martial arts theories, any problem leading to ntal derangent was attributed to the Heart Demon’s mischief.
Julius was interested in what the Lu family’s Heart Demon was.
Because it was sothing Silvio Reed had gifted them.
Silvio Reed wasn’t dead, Julius had now confird that.
Understanding what the Heart Demon truly is might explain why Silvio gave the Lu family the lotus seed.
"An ordinary person isn’t worthy of knowing my na." The old man in the yellow robe spoke with disdain, clearly looking down on the body’s original owner standing before him.
"You may rest in peace and let your soul disperse. With your body, I will once again stand atop this world!" With that, he pointed a finger!
Buzz.
Julius’s form disintegrated.
The old man felt very pleased.
His own form began to lt, preparing to take control of the body.
But suddenly!
The old man opened his eyes.
He quickly turned, both hands drawn across his front!
Bang!
A punch ca flying!
The previously fading Julius, sohow appeared behind him.
The old man floated lightly into the air, surprise in his eyes.
Suspended in the air, he angrily asked, "Why haven’t you disintegrated?"
He had thought that with just a finger, his opponent’s soul would have long been scattered, erased.
Then he could possess this body.
"You forgot, this is my body." Julius spoke calmly, "And you still haven’t answered my question."
"Ha ha!" The old man chuckled, but the smile was quickly replaced by a cold sneer.
"Were it not for my soon-to-be possession of your body, I wouldn’t waste words with a re mortal like you." As he spoke, the old man’s whisk unexpectedly lashed forward!
A beam of golden light shot out, piercing Julius’s body, and vanished into the spiritual world.
As the golden light passed through, Julius’s form began to fade and ultimately vanished.
"Ha ha, such a worthless fool." The old man felt very satisfied, "This body is wasted on the likes of you."
Having said that, he began to focus wholly.
His form began to dissolve.
To maintain concentration, he needed to let his consciousness occupy this body, replacing the original owner.
But before his feet could disappear, Julius suddenly appeared in front of him!
Smack!
A slap landed.
The not yet vanished body of the old man trembled and faded into nothing.
Next, he reford not far away!
"Who are you!"
Gone was his previous composure, and his eyes showed fear once more.
If the first failure to eliminate this guy was a fluke, the second was hard to explain.
"I, the Nine Nether Truemaster, have never encountered anyone like you!"
Claiming the title Nine Nether Truemaster, the old man pointed at Julius, his expression grave.
"The Nine Nether Truemaster?" Julius shook his head, "Never heard of you, are you any good?"
"You’re courting death!" The old man’s face bore anger, yet he did not attack as recklessly as before.
"Five thousand years ago, if you dared say that, I’d guarantee you’d beco a corpse instantly." Nine Nether Truemaster sneered, his face still filled with innate arrogance.
"In those days, when I slaughtered relentlessly across the world, who wasn’t afraid at the ntion of my na?"
He snorted, disdainful, "In tis without heroes, even a boy like you gains fa! If I still had my body, killing you would be as easy as a flick of the finger!"
Hearing this, Julius chuckled.
He knew the old man wasn’t bluffing. If he wasn’t equipped with a demigod body and hadn’t strengthened his ntal power over these years, those few moves would have obliterated his consciousness.
People have three souls and seven spirits.
These souls and spirits refer to one’s will and mind.
Many lose their spirit, becoming what is known as vegetative.
The Nine Nether Truemaster intended to turn Julius into a vegetative state, then consolidate his own spiritual power into a new set of three souls and seven spirits within this body, taking over as the new owner.
However, he seed to have encountered a slight problem.
"Who are you? To escape from twice, even if I kill you, I’d like to know your na." Nine Nether Truemaster asked.
"My na is Silvio Reed. Silvio as in Silvio Reed, Reed as in Silvio Reed." Julius said with a smile.
