Though Joel Martin was often irresponsible in his business dealings, his mind was anything but dull.
Having mingled in high society for so long, he had co to understand certain truths.
Assailing Brayden Leopold was simply unthinkable; Theon Falls was but a henchman for Stanislaus Potter. Despite his considerable influence, he would not dare to act recklessly against a direct descendant of the Leopold Family.
Moreover, no one knew the exact nature of the relationship between the Leopold and Potter families. If this incident were to deepen a rift between the two, Stanislaus Potter’s treatnt of him would certainly suffer.
Thus, after much consideration, he pointed at Julius Reed, the person who appeared to have the least background but was also the most arrogant on the surface.
“Piran Wilson, it was him. He’s the one who hit !”
Although Joel Martin had been brutally beaten by Brayden Leopold, he dared not harbor any resentnt towards the Leopold Family. Instead, he shifted the bla onto Julius Reed, looking to use Piran as a proxy for his revenge.
Dealing with a young man like Julius Reed, who had no background, was like catching a fish with bare hands for Theon Falls; it required no effort at all.
“Joel Martin! How can you blatantly lie! The one who hit you was clearly…”
Anna Harris stood up abruptly, but after a glance at Brayden Leopold, she swallowed her words and corrected herself, “The person who hit you wasn’t Julius Reed; he didn’t even touch you!”
While she did not dare to accuse Brayden Leopold directly, she still wanted to stand up for Julius Reed’s innocence.
“Anna Harris! Shut your mouth!”
Joel Martin snarled, “Piran Wilson, and this damn woman too. It’s because of her that I was beaten to this state!”
Bereft of dignity, he didn’t care whether he liked it or not; if he couldn’t have her, he’d rather destroy her!
“You’re truly a mad dog!”
An expression of disgust crept into Anna Harris’s frown.

Upon hearing the na Julius Reed, Theon Falls was startled.
At the last Willson Group banquet, Julius Reed had viciously assaulted Richard, and it was done right in front of Stanislaus Potter.
People from the Golden Eagle Group all knew that Stanislaus Potter had a close relationship with Richard, who he heavily supported and favored nearly as much as Quamaine Potter.
Yet, such a man, dear to Stanislaus Potter, had been reduced to a vegetative state and now lay in a hospital, barely distinguishable from the dead.
And Stanislaus Potter acted as if nothing had happened, showing no interest in pursuing the matter.
Bonds existed among the Seven Guardians, with so being closer than others. Austin Yarrow and Theon Falls were such friends.
Austin had personally dealt with Thayer Taylor and later told Theon Falls about it, frankly discussing Boss Potter’s exceedingly complex relationship with Julius Reed.
It even seed sowhat respectful.
Previously, Julius Reed had been considered an arch-enemy of the Golden Eagle Group for breaking Quamaine Potter’s legs, prompting Stanislaus Potter to use the Group’s vast wealth in an attempt to strike at the Radcliffe Group.
This left Theon Falls even more puzzled.
Were the two friends or foes?
Moreover, rumors circulated that Julius Reed was a formidable fighter; no one seed to be his match.
“I need to make a call!”
In an uncharacteristic move, Theon Falls abruptly turned and left the Waterfront Pearl.
His unusual behavior baffled everyone present. Brayden Leopold subconsciously thought Theon was calling for backup to deal with him, and promptly signaled his own n with a glance, making a quick exit.
If they were impeded, they would fight; if not, they would take the opportunity to escape.
At this critical mont in the succession battle, Brayden Leopold did not want any mishaps.
Oddly enough, when Brayden Leopold reached the entrance, he made eye contact with Theon Falls and was able to leave without any hindrance.
This made Joel Martin even more puzzled about what the normally aggressive Big Brother was plotting.
Ten minutes later, Theon Falls finally re-entered the restaurant, accompanied by Stanislaus Potter, the Chairman of the Golden Eagle Group.
“Uncle!”
Seeing Stanislaus Potter, Joel Martin’s grievances surged out.
Running towards him like a man possessed, he cried out, “Uncle, you must stand up for !”

By the ti he reached Stanislaus Potter, Stanislaus Potter had already kicked out, sending him tumbling to the ground.
Afterwards, Stanislaus Potter walked straight towards Julius Reed.
“Mr. Reed…”
“I’m eating.”
Julius Reed picked up a large lobster and leisurely began to eat.
“Quit pretending!”
Anna Harris cursed inwardly; this was Stanislaus Potter, the Chairman of Golden Eagle Group.
A sneeze from him, and the whole Five-river Province would catch a cold.
It was understandable to put on an act in front of those youngsters, but posturing in front of Stanislaus Potter was akin to seeking death.
Theon Falls even walked over, ready to throw punches if needed.
Unexpectedly, Stanislaus Potter actually stood by Julius Reed, silently waiting without uttering a word.
Joel Martin was downright astounded; what on earth was going on?
Why did his normally affectionate uncle, without any concern for his own injuries, kick him as soon as he approached?
And why was he so respectful and reverent in front of Julius Reed?
From what he rembered, Stanislaus Potter was a very dominant person!
About ten minutes later, just as Anna Harris was about to step forward and speak, Julius Reed finally finished eating.
“What is it?”
He took a napkin and gently wiped his hands, which were covered in sauce, without even glancing at Stanislaus Potter.
“My nephew has offended you, and about that matter…”
“It’s nothing; he has already been beaten up. Moreover, he was beaten severely enough to kneel and beg for rcy.”
Julius Reed looked over at Joel Martin, a smile creeping across his lips.
That sentence stabbed deeply into Joel Martin’s heart, even more painful than being killed.
Although bruised and swollen, one could still discern the deep flush on his face.
“Bastard, co over here and apologize!”
Stanislaus Potter roared, scaring Joel Martin into a tremble.
Taking a deep breath, Joel Martin, dragging his unbearably painful body, slowly approached Julius Reed, his face filled with terror.
“Apologize!”
Stanislaus Potter commanded in a stern voice.
This shout caused Joel Martin to collapse to his knees in fear, mumbling unclearly, “I’m sorry, I was blind to recognize a lofty person…”
“Anna Harris, all expenses for food and accommodation at this hotel are on my tab. If you need for anything, just ask the waiter to get in touch.”
Julius Reed didn’t bother with Joel Martin, who was kneeling on the ground like a dog; he simply got up and headed towards the entrance of the Pearl on the Water.
“Mr. Reed…”
Stanislaus Potter caught up from behind, slightly apologetic, “About this matter…”
“I have so matters to attend to; let’s talk about this later,” Julius Reed said without giving any further attention to Stanislaus Potter and quickly disappeared at the entrance of the Pearl on the Water.
Talk later—he hadn’t clarified whether he would pursue the issue or not, leaving the matter hanging over Stanislaus Potter’s head like a knife, causing him continual unease.
“Lock this bastard up! Don’t let him step outside for half a year, or else I’ll break his legs! He’s really good for nothing but causing troubles!”
Turning around, Stanislaus Potter looked at Joel Martin with a mix of frustration and anger, his teeth grinding audibly.
