"Wow, an oasis! What a big crocodile!"

"Is it possible that it's called a lizard?"

Ji Jue sighed; just how remote is the An Family? It's one thing to not have attended high school, but how have they not even watched Animal Planet?

Unfortunately, before Ji Jue could explain, An Ning had already hopped out of the car, nimbly leaping over the sand dune toward the small oasis.

Blending in.

The various wild animals gathered around the pond, drinking water, did not even lift their heads—or dared not—as she enthusiastically took photographs one by one.

Until even the oasis couldn't take it anymore.

The ground shook as yellow sands billowed and rolled, spreading out to the sides.

The oasis rose up, a rocky head erged from the crevices, seed to glance back at them, then several giant rock-like limbs hoisted up an enormous body spanning kiloters, carrying the pond and greenery, it staggered and walked away.

Seemingly slow, but actually swift.

In just a few minutes, it disappeared into the yellow sands, nowhere to be seen.

An Ning, with a face full of sand, excitedly jumped back: "Did you see it? Ji Jue, it's alive, really alive!"

"Indeed, it's huge."

Ji Jue leaned against the driver's seat, gazing toward the direction the oasis had departed, whispering in awe.

It's the first ti seeing a creature so massive.

Experts say that it's also a kind of Disaster Beast, seemingly a mutated land tortoise, but unusually gentle. It can survive just by eating dirt and sand, its body growing continuously, hence has no natural enemies. Since it doesn't contain any rare materials, hardly anyone catches it.

Its greatest pleasure is basking in the sun, and if lucky, one might occasionally find its traces in the desert.

Maybe it had enough sun and went sowhere to nap.

Or perhaps it sensed sothing.

"The wind is picking up, An Ning."

Ji Jue waved: "Let's hurry, a sandstorm is coming."

Satellite maps sent a ssage; a large cyclone is moving south, and if they remain in place, they might be swallowed completely.

Driving frantically for an hour, the wind speed grew so fierce that the road beca invisible. Amidst increasingly dense yellow sands, after repeatedly getting stuck, Little Ox switched to walking mode, its eight chanical limbs nimbly leaping between the dunes until finally finding a refuge beneath the undisturbed and non-eroded cliffs.

In the dim chaos, the aftereffects of the sandstorm brushed past them like a torrent, countless sands and debris fell like a downpour, rustling heavily.

The vehicle with extinguished lights was buried underneath, they could hear the rumbling mixed with earth-shattering booms.

It's like the sea of sand was boiling.

An Ning curiously peeked out, intrigued as she gazed around.

And then with Ji Jue, they saw amid the relentless dust storm, below the vast sea of sand, a gigantic figure rising leisurely.

Gigantic pillar-like limbs abruptly shot out, reaching into the sky, into the storm cyclone.

It seed as if it grabbed onto sothing, and within a mont's earth-shaking screeching, the storm intensified, and massive amounts of viscous blood splattered down from the dust sands.

Soon, the limbs that resembled heavenly pillars retracted, mostly damaged. Yet on the writhing limbs remained a torn wing, entangled with fragnts of armor and wriggling flesh.

As the storm buried them, they were once more swallowed beneath the yellow sands, disappearing from sight.

When the cyclone moved like a living thing deeper into the desert, after another half an hour, the storm subsided, the desert remained a desert, the wasteland remained a wasteland.

As if nothing had happened.

The massive battle between those two disaster beasts seed like an illusion.

"So magnificent," An Ning exclaid.

"Yes," Ji Jue was also imrsed in the grand scene.

She browsed through the blurred photos captured on the cara, regretfully lanted: "It's a pity, not clearer."

"This distance is the limit. Going closer would an flirting with danger."

Ji Jue raised his finger, tapped her cara, adjusted the paraters to remove irrelevant obstructions, auto-enhancing the image; sadly, still not clear.

A casual act, just leaving her a nto.

But during the image enhancent, Ji Jue unexpectedly found inside the cara a heap of his goofy pictures… and so shots where his face was scribbled ssily after he fell asleep, even his mouth was prankishly intruded with soone's fingers.

His blood pressure surged in an instant!

"Ji Jue, what's wrong?"

An Ning looked over innocently, her innocent smile showing no trace of cultural contamination.

Ji Jue rolled his eyes, not wanting to speak to her anymore.

Little Ox rose from the sand, shook off the dust, and set off once more.

Beneath the evening's afterglow, the desert seed to turn pink, with no signs of its previous harsh and sinister look.

They even saw a mirage.

Such good fortune.

At dawn, they had already crossed the outskirts of Longyuan, reaching the final checkpoint of their journey in Hai Province, still placing near the top.

Traveled ahead of other teams by more than seven hours.

The race isn't over yet, but the result is foregone.

After another round of interviews, after resting for a day, at noon the next day, the final S4 stage began.

Perhaps it was an illusion, at the start of the race, Ji Jue seed to notice in the crowd around the relay station many familiar faces, maybe even Lao Lou.
