Felix bent his knees and caressed the head of the chick. The chick didn’t reject his show of affections, she simply went along with Felix, even rubbing her head to his palm.
She could feel the warmth of Felix’s hand, a warm that was deeply compatible and nostalgic to her.
If it was not because Felix was a human and a man, she would have thought Felix was her mother.
Felix grabbed her and had her sit on the two of his palms.
The chick stared at Felix and heard the latter said, "Do you want to beco my companion for the rest of my life?"
The chick heard him. She clearly understood him.
The shock on her face was apparent, but soon, her body produced harmless sparks to show her excitents.
It was the first ti soone had verbally told her that she was wanted—her value was appreciated.
Her mother didn’t treat her like that—her mother simply births her and her way of showing affections were giving them foods.
Her mother was distant, mostly spending her ti searching for food, which was her reason.
The chick wasn’t aware that her mother was extrely affectionate and closer to her master that she didn’t even care about her children one bit.
Truth to be told, the mother was the only mother phoenix, who didn’t care about their children. A mother phoenix was mostly affectionate to their descendants.
The temperant of the chick’s mother was truly different from the rest. Her obsession on her master was truly concerning.
In fact, the reason she continued giving foods to her children was because of her master’s order.
The chick wasn’t already wanted by her mother, her siblings even rejected her. She wasn’t aware of the reason, but her clinginess was actually the reason she was driven away.
Her clinginess wasn’t bad, she simply wanted soone to show affections towards her. She was sweet and lovely. She sought validation by asking for attention.
It was too much with his siblings, who also has other siblings to engage with. Hence, they didn’t hesitate to viciously shut down any of her attempt to be closer to them.
Although the chick kept feeling dejected of how they treated her, she continued, hoping that one day, soone among them would show her affections.
Now, she didn’t need to.
At the mont, as she was gazing at Felix’s gentle smile, she realized that she didn’t need to continue pestering others surrounding her to make her feel valuable and wanted.
There would be a day like this one that soone would simply co up on her and told her she was worthy enough to spend the rest of their life with.
If that day ca, as it already did, she wouldn’t hesitate to accept their invitation and finally left the nest.

To Felix surprise, not only the chick had accepted his invitation, but she also initiated the soul contract between him and her.
He could feel her soul attempting to connect with him. Without hesitation, Felix accepted and they both suddenly exuded a conspicuous fiery aura made out of intense fire energy.
Felix’s energy core was consuming a lot of energy, altering them to fire energy and spread around his body and to his soul, welcoming a new beast’s companion.
Their fiery aura was getting intense that nearby adult phoenixes, except the chick’s mother, began to notice. They suddenly flew towards the nest where Felix and the chick was and gathered above them.
They didn’t make a move against Felix, they simply hovered above, circling in a rhythmic and formal manner.
As though they were dancing, performing so kind of joyful ritual. They also cawed quite loudly, yet not piercing to the ear. It was strangely soothing for i’s ears, as well as to other beasts.
It was definitely a call. They wanted to get their attention.
The terrestrial beasts gathered at the roots of the gargantuan tree. Other aerial beast creature, with so having a limited altitude height to reach, gathered around the tree trunk, until so others managed to reach the crown.
Like i’s hawks, they reached the gathering of the phoenixes, but they couldn’t get closer. The fire energy releasing by the phoenixes were imnse that not a single Unique beast couldn’t challenge it.
The shocking event lasted for a quite a while, giving i an ample ti to record what had transpired.
Her eyes were sparkling. This will be a groundbreaking news. I wonder how they will react to this?
i had already decided to inform her superior about it first before asking to publicize it. If she went straight for the latter, she would definitely lose her job.
The fact that she had witnessed it first-hand was already a valuable experience for her. There was also a chance that she’d be able to attain a higher position in her job.
With sparkling eyes and trembling body, she tried her best to record without missing a single second.
Felix wasn’t quite aware of the actual impact of his soul contract with the chick.
He was fully srized by the chick’s reaction to establishing their soul contract.
The chick’s fire energy was intensifying, which simply ant she was also evolving during their soul contract process.
Felix wasn’t surprised. He was already at the Commander Rank 6 and his fire energy core was imnse, instantly affecting the chick who wanted to be his beast pet.
It took an hour for the soul contract establishnt to settle down and finally concluded. The chick had grown fluffier and taller. Felix could also feel the weight that was certainly different than earlier.
Felix gazed at the chick in front of him and heard Guide, asking to give him a na, so she could show the chick’s current status.
Felix thought for a while and finally landed a beautiful fitting na for the chick.
He said, "Your na is Ember. Do you like it?"
The chick suddenly released countless sparks as her eyes sparkled in excitents.
She definitely liked the na.
