Batur’s armory included a 1:1 replica of an ancient sword. Although Li Younan didn’t know much about ancient weapons, and whether this sword matched that era was unimportant, it worked well as his character’s prop sword in the series.
Originally, Chen Rui’s idea was to have Li Younan just demonstrate a few moves with the sword, just to capture the essence, but unexpectedly, Li Younan perford a fluid and graceful swordsmanship routine.
Undoubtedly, once again, he astounded everyone.
Li Younan was used to everyone’s reaction; showing off a small skill occasionally and scaring others a bit was quite enjoyable.
Of course, beyond his swordsmanship, Li Younan was more satisfied with his acting.
There were several scenes requiring interaction with Lan Yiyi, and Li Younan felt he was completely imrsed in the role, portraying a guard who felt heartfelt sorrow for this woman yet had to restrain his emotions and diligently fulfill his duties. The restrained conflict exhibited during these scenes was indeed a highly challenging performance.
But it was executed excellently, and Li Younan gave himself a perfect score.
