Volu 6 Chapter 29: The Prototype Model
(Walson)
The construction of the [Steam Motion Armor] began soon after Tanaya's abilities were fully understood.
Before delving into that, I must elaborate on Tanaya's progress. Ever since she mastered the ability to manipulate [Redstone], her understanding of this technology has skyrocketed within just a few days.
This is due to the additional knowledge enhancent of [talforge Manipulation]! Seeing Tanaya like this, I inadvertently gained a deeper understanding of the capabilities dwarves should possess.
Not only does it enhance mastery, but it also boosts learning abilities related to the subject. Such a non-combat enhancent is quite rare in this world that values strength.
However, I feel a bit more sympathetic toward the dwarves who were once enslaved.
Yes, this ability is indeed powerful, but without strong combat skills, these abilities would just benefit others when powerful external threats arise.
Returning to the topic of Tanaya, she managed to invent and design the [Redstone Repeater] by herself without any guidance from and completed the half-drawn design of the Steam Motion Armor using it as the core.
Those familiar with Minecraft would know that without relying on any tutorials or reference materials, understanding [Redstone] requires significant talent.
Tanaya clearly possesses such talent. She not only completed but also improved my design in so areas. She combined [Redstone] technology and magic, which took years to understand, but she mastered it in just a few days.
So of her design ideas had never crossed my mind... Though I mostly played Minecraft for survival, Tanaya's genius made feel like I’ve been wasting my 17 years of reincarnation.
"Tanaya, you’re amazing," I said, feeling a bit helpless as I patted her head.
By combining magical substances with [Redstone], creating [Modified Redstone] that can smoothly transmit magic, she achieved sothing I never thought of.
If [Modified Redstone] alone can operate magic within the ch, the [Thermodynamic Core] might not be necessary.
"Watson, is the wrist part done?" Risa, standing nearby, asked excitedly. I never expected her to be so interested in robots.
"Yes, it's done. You can install it now," I replied.
Risa cheered and, with a grab, lifted the huge chanical wrist, which would take five Risas to hug around. She effortlessly carried the half-ton weight like it was nothing.
... The ground shook with her footsteps, though.
This wrist design is essentially an enlarged version of [Hero Arm], with the gunpowder chanism replaced by a magic output, significantly enhancing its power. The exterior is made of [Obsidian].
There’s a hot spring under the Earth Fortress Mountain and a nearby volcano. I dug a path below the Earth Fortress Mountain and quickly found a small underground magma pool. The [Obsidian] used wasn't from my resources, so there was no need to save it.
I might make the sa improvents to ran’s [Violent Arm] if given a chance.
Risa dashed to the work area and, with a swing, attached the massive wrist to the towering structure. The connection was perfect, though the force caused a loud noise in the Earth Fortress Mountain.
With all four limbs installed, the robot finally looked like a robot. The towering structure in the center of the Earth Fortress Mountain was quite spectacular.
"... Risa, you’re too excited," Grace, squatting on the ch's shoulder, said, peeking at Risa.
ran, tied with a rope around her waist, checked the head seams. Risa’s impact had knocked her off earlier, and she was now adjusting her position.
As for Barrel, she sat nearby, assembling small parts according to Tanaya's designs.
With only two days left before the [Pulse God Festival], the ch manufacturing commissioned by Chuck barely t the schedule. With little genius Tanaya's help, the work efficiency increased several tis. Read full story at NoveI(F)ire
To accommodate this giant, I expanded the workshop significantly, combining the second and third floors and digging deeper into the Earth Fortress Mountain to fit this nearly ten-ter-tall giant.
Standing on the second-floor balcony, in front of the ch’s chest, I marveled at this dream-like creation.
This is the romance of n!
Majestic and powerful, standing ten ters tall with a seven-ter shoulder width, its [Obsidian] armor gives it a dark and eerie look. Its arms raised, ready for action, it exudes an impressive aura.
The armant is intriguing. Though the wrists are also made of [Obsidian], the palms are an alloy of [Orichalcum] and [Mithril], chosen for its magic conductivity and weight. With Tanaya’s unique pressure design, I believe these fists could shatter mountains.
Not just the fists, but blades made of [Orichalcum] can also pop out by activating the magic conduction switch.
For ranged attacks, there’s a large-caliber shoulder cannon, similar in design to [Oni Maru], capable of firing tal chunks. Tanaya further improved its power.
Finally, for the power source, I'll include the driving chanism here.
The [Redstone Core], made by combining many [Compressed Redstones], powers the entire ch. It maintains the original infinite power feature with increased output to support the ch's high energy consumption.
As per Chuck’s request, "create a [Steam Motion Armor] that doesn’t require a [Thermodynamic Core] and can be easily operated by ordinary dwarves," it’s feasible with [Redstone] assistance.
But! To win in a magic-filled ch battle, [Redstone] power alone isn’t enough. So, I approached it differently.
The biggest obstacle to the strength of the dwarves’ [Steam Motion Armor] is the pilot issue. High-intensity chs can strain the pilot, and mishandling can be fatal.
So, why not change the bearer? For example, an [Iron Golem]! This Minecraft creature with a pumpkin head can be directly controlled by , a [Vassal of The Forest].
Obedient, strong (being made of iron), tireless, and possessing a degree of intelligence that are like a natural AI!!!
As for what the dwarves need to do. They just need to wear earphone-like items I made with familiar abilities and give voice commands safely.
If they want to sit inside the ch, that’s fine too. Most of the operational burden will be on the Iron Golem. The dwarf’s job is to supply magic, enhancing the ch’s attacks with elental effects (depending on the user’s magic attribute).
Yes, this isn’t just a [Steam Motion Armor] anymore.
But it has to look the part, so I used [Netherrack] and an infinite water source to create sothing that emits fire and steam, installing it in the head and arms for a smoking effect.
Overall, this is the most luxurious creation I’ve made so far. If not for Chuck providing the materials, I’d be reluctant to tinker with such a thing.
Though it took considerable effort, it was worth it considering I found a replacent for Redstone.
"Hey, can you hear ? I’m your creator," I said, wearing the headset, communicating with the [Iron Golem] inside the ch.
I didn't hear a voice but felt an unfamiliar emotion.
Nervousness, confusion... and obedience, what an interesting Prototype.
"So, what should we na it?"
