Capítulo 1162: Chapter 1162: Love at First Sight in dicine (Part 19)

Duan Ruihuan, even with money, couldn’t act as recklessly as Chuzheng; after several rounds of bidding, they’ve already reached their limit.

Continuing down this path would only harm their interests.

Duan Ruihuan’s face turned pale with rage as she stord out of the conference room: “Find out exactly what’s that woman’s background!!”

Soone nearby agreed.

After Chuzheng finished her discussion with President Huang and left the company, Duan Ruihuan hadn’t left yet. Seeing Chuzheng erge, she walked over quickly, her high heels clicking.

Miss Duan lifted her chin: “We need to talk.”

“We’re not close, there’s nothing to discuss.” What do I have to talk with you about? I’d rather seek out my Good Person Card.

Duan Ruihuan suddenly laughed: “Yuk Jian, let’s talk about him?”

“Why should I discuss him with you?” Chuzheng countered, “What is your relationship with him?”

Duan Ruihuan: “…”

She’s nothing to him… But…

Duan Ruihuan refrained from telling Chuzheng to leave Yuk Jian imdiately; the person opposite wasn’t a gullible fool easily bullied.

She took a deep breath: “Since we both like Yuk Jian, why don’t we compete fairly?”

“There’s no need.” Chuzheng refused, “You have the ti; you’d better choose soone else to like.”

Duan Ruihuan’s beautiful eyes widened, blurting out: “Why?”

Chuzheng tilted her head slightly, the fragnts of light gliding past the bottom of her eyes, leaving no trace, as quiet and calm as a frozen pond, chilling anyone who dared to look inside.

A strange coldness rose in Duan Ruihuan’s heart, causing her to take a half step back.

The next mont, she stood firm again, straightening her back.

“Because…” Chuzheng paused for a second, then declared firmly, “He can only be mine.”

Duan Ruihuan ntally scoffed: “What makes you think that? Is he with you, or did he say he likes you?”

“If you’re not afraid of wasting ti, then chase him; I don’t mind.” Chuzheng’s indifferent attitude kept her tone exceptionally smooth, but her voice abruptly turned cold in the next mont: “However, you’d better not touch him. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I’ll do.”

Duan Ruihuan: “…”

What does she an by not afraid of wasting ti? If she wants to chase him, why can’t I touch him?

Duan Ruihuan remained clueless until Chuzheng left. She belatedly realized that by ‘touching,’ she ant physical contact…

Why is she so confident that Yuk Jian belongs to her?

Duan Ruihuan angrily clenched her fist; it was still uncertain where the flower would fall!

Yuk Jian went downstairs to buy sothing, and as soon as he left the convenience store, he saw Chuzheng standing across the street,

one hand in her pocket, a plastic bag hanging from her wrist, its content unknown but seemingly lightweight. She held a phone in the other hand, striking a pose that was both cool and casual, yet predominantly cold.

Despite all the people around, it seed she stood at the center, with no one coming within two steps of her.

With the traffic flowing, her figure was occasionally obscured.

Yuk Jian was sowhat srized; what he was thinking was likely unknown even to himself, allowing his thoughts to wander freely.

Suddenly, he saw the figure opposite move, sprinting into the traffic amidst the honking of horns and the screech of tires, running towards him.

“Get out of the way!”

Amidst the noise, Yuk Jian didn’t hear what she shouted, but his body instinctively sensed the danger, the icy gleam flashing past his eye, and the next second, he was struck and sent flying.

Another figure fell beside him, alarming the surrounding people, making them scatter quickly.

The person on the ground was holding a knife, wearing a hat and a mask. Despite missing with his first strike, he didn’t intend to give up and tried to attack Yuk Jian again.

Chuzheng grabbed Yuk Jian and pulled him up, kicking the assailant’s wrist.

Using skillful force, Chuzheng disard the attacker, causing the knife to fall near the crowd, which imdiately retreated a bit further.

Seeing things weren’t favorable, the attacker attempted to flee, but before he could stand steady, he fell again, seemingly hitting sothing and passing out directly.

Chuzheng clutched her chest, panting as she tried to maintain steady breathing. Perhaps rushing across the street so abruptly caused discomfort, leaving her breathing labored…

Yuk Jian, regaining his senses, noticed Chuzheng’s complexion, his heart pounding wildly as he imdiately supported her: “dicine, did you bring dicine?”

Chuzheng retrieved a dicine bottle from her pocket, and Yuk Jian took it and poured out a pill: “Does anyone have water?”

A nearby student handed over a bottle, and Yuk Jian used it to help Chuzheng swallow the pill, ignoring the person on the ground, asking passersby to call the police, before hailing a cab and rushing to the hospital with Chuzheng.

Perhaps driven by anxiety, Yuk Jian didn’t even care about touching Chuzheng.

He realized she was fine only after calming down.

Yuk Jian washed his hands with water, changed his clothes, and once he felt everything was okay, he relaxed his tense body slightly.

As a doctor, he often needed to touch patients, and after each occasion, he had to wash thoroughly to feel clean.

It wasn’t directed at anyone, but stemd from his own reasons.

Yuk Jian rinsed his face with cold water, and after a nurse called him from outside, he wiped his face dry and went out.

Chuzheng lay back in the VIP ward; although she didn’t believe her situation was that severe, Yuk Jian remained cold-faced, pressing her here for a battery of tests.

If she really had a problem, it would be because of being worn out.

“That person was caught today; they want to take a statent.” Yuk Jian entered with two people from the relevant departnt, checking on Chuzheng’s condition before speaking to her softly.

“Oh.”

Chuzheng didn’t recognize the attacker—she only ran over because she saw him going for Yuk Jian.

So, Chuzheng didn’t have much to say; it largely concerned Yuk Jian.

Yuk Jian recalled having so impression of that person, who was related to a patient he used to treat. That patient wasn’t successfully saved, and the relative believed he hadn’t tried his best and caused a commotion, which eventually faded away.

Yuk Jian had indeed done his best.

Surgery carries risks; a patient’s body isn’t a machine that can be controlled at will, and accidents are always possible. Yuk Jian had exerted his utmost effort.

Yet, the relative believed it was his fault.

He thought that incident was over, but unexpectedly, the other party resorted to violence against him so long afterward.

That relative was evidently ntally unstable, and after being detained, he first threw a tantrum, yelling and screaming, accusing Yuk Jian of being a murderer. After calming down, he originally refused to say anything, but the next day, he confessed everything.

According to the interrogation results, not only did the assailant commit this attack, but he was also responsible for Yuk Jian’s previous car crash and the elevator malfunction in his apartnt.

The elevator mischief was unsuccessful, while the car accident almost killed Yuk Jian.

Chuzheng was a bit scared: “Is being a doctor really this dangerous?”

Yuk Jian, however, seed accustod to it: “So extre people lose their rationality along with their loved ones, but such incidents are rare.”
