Capítulo 1403: Chapter 1403: The General’s Noble Consort (13)

Princess Yudie fainted halfway, so Chuzheng had to send her back to her sleeping quarters.

The Imperial Physician examined Princess Yudie’s pulse through the curtains, while Chuzheng stood aside with a cold expression.

Clearly just a little girl, yet she exuded an intimidating and icy aura.

The Imperial Physician felt inexplicable pressure.

After finishing the pulse examination, the Imperial Physician turned to Chuzheng to report: “Empress Dowager, Princess Yudie is not in serious trouble, but…”

Chuzheng’s eyelids lifted slightly: “What.”

“It seems Princess Yudie is suffering from malnutrition, her body is extrely weak.”

“With the palace’s abundance, how could there be malnutrition.” Su Xue could roughly guess the reason, but it couldn’t be spoken recklessly: “Sir, please don’t speak carelessly.”

The Imperial Physician quickly responded: “I dare not.”

“Please, Empress Dowager, save the Princess.” Suddenly, a Palace Maid nearby threw herself forward, her voice choked: “If this continues, the Princess will die, please save her.”

The Imperial Physician’s heart skipped a beat, wishing he could pretend not to exist.

“Zhizhi!”

The drooping curtains were lifted, and Princess Yudie gently scolded.

The Palace Maid kneeling on the ground imdiately scrambled over: “Princess, you’ve awakened.”

Princess Yudie’s face looked pale and unpleasant, her voice hoarse: “What nonsense are you talking.”

“I wasn’t talking nonsense…”

Princess Yudie softly chided her.

Zhizhi’s eyes reddened, she opened her mouth but dared not speak further.

Princess Yudie struggled to sit up: “Apologies for troubling Mother Empress, Yudie is fine…”

“Princess, don’t move.” Su Xue stepped forward to help her lie back down.

Su Xue dared not say anything more; since Chuzheng hadn’t spoken, anything she said now would be wrong.

She gently comforted Princess Yudie: “Just rest well for now.”

Princess Yudie glanced over at Chuzheng, who looked at her indifferently.

Chuzheng turned and left the inner room.

The Imperial Physician smartly followed her out.

“Call that Zhizhi out.”

Zhizhi was Princess Yudie’s close Palace Maid… Yilan Palace didn’t have many people.

Besides Zhizhi, there was only a maid and a eunuch left.

The vast Yilan Palace looked like a Cold Palace.

Zhizhi kneeled in front of Chuzheng, tears welling up in her eyes.

“Explain what’s going on?”

Zhizhi wiped her tears and kowtowed three tis loudly.

Since the passing of Princess Yudie’s mother, the Palace Maids and eunuchs of Yilan Palace have all sought their own paths and tried to leave.

Eventually, only the three of them remained to serve.

But that wasn’t the primary issue.

It was the palace’s attitude towards Yilan Palace.

Their provisions and accommodations were continuously withheld.

Without a stove to warm them when it’s cold, without ice chambers to cool them when it’s hot.

The als delivered were always cold.

Sotis they were even spoiled.

And the other Palace Princesses would frequently call Princess Yudie out to bully her for fun.

Princess Yudie was isolated in the palace, enduring all grievances on her own.

“Please Empress Dowager, save the Princess…”

Since the forr Emperor left, those princesses beca increasingly excessive.

If this continues, the Princess will eventually perish at their hands.

“General Rongshi, General Rongshi… You cannot enter.”

The man strode in, ignoring the obstruction from outside the door.

The eunuch following behind knelt down with a thud, anxious and fearful.

“Empress Dowager, General Rongshi forced his way inside, we couldn’t stop him.”

Rong Shi hadn’t expected there would be others inside the hall; he paused slightly and offered a formal salute: “Rong Shi greets the Empress Dowager.”

Today, Rong Shi wore a navy-blue robe, covered by a gauzy garnt, holding a sword in his hand.

No one is allowed to bring weapons into the palace.

Even military personnel aren’t permitted to carry arms inside.

Who knows where he got the privilege…

The man’s posture was upright, head slightly bowed, the light tracing the cold and steadfast lines of his profile.

This man had co from the battlefield, the murderous aura on him was unmistakable, unable to be concealed.

His presence seed to transform the entire space into another dinsion.

But one had to admit, he possessed a striking appearance.

The Good Person Card is indeed so striking in appearance.

“You may rise.”

Rong Shi glanced at Zhizhi who was still kneeling on the ground, then spoke solemnly: “Empress Dowager, might I first be permitted to see Yudie?”

Chuzheng gestured with her hand, indicating he was free to do so.

Rong Shi entered the inner room.

Rong Shi moved like the wind, without showing signs of injury.

Chuzheng mused, rubbing her chin, then suddenly motioned to the Imperial Physician.

“Empress Dowager?”

The Imperial Physician was anxious and fearful.

“Can you see if General Rongshi has any problems?”

The Imperial Physician: “???”

What problem does the Empress Dowager want to see?!

The Imperial Physician trembled and said: “I am foolish, please enlighten , Empress Dowager.”

Chuzheng gave him direction: “Does he have any physical ailnts?”

The Imperial Physician: “???”

The Imperial Physician was completely bewildered.

He hadn’t even touched a single hair on General Rongshi’s head; they had only just t, how could he possibly ascertain if General Rongshi had any health issues?

Was the Empress Dowager trying to make things difficult for him?

The Imperial Physician was extrely cautious: “Empress Dowager… I have yet to master the skill of diagnosing a person through observation.”

Chuzheng mused, rubbing her chin, saying: “I haven’t mastered it either.”

“…”

This conversation, how am I supposed to respond?!

The Imperial Physician had never felt his career was so difficult.

Chuzheng was certain the Bastard was exaggerating.

Look at how the Good Person Card was perfectly fine, right?!

Without , the Good Person Card can be strong too!

[…] I told you to go be a good person! What role are you inserting yourself into!!

Chuzheng, being the Empress Dowager, was still outside the room; Rong Shi didn’t stay inside for long and soon ca out.

He looked towards Chuzheng.

The young woman in luxurious and dignified palace attire had simple hair accessories, yet they did not diminish her refined and elegant aura.

Her brows reminiscent of a mountain with fresh snow, cold and aloof, distant and indifferent.

She sat casually and made the ordinary sandalwood soft couch resemble a throne of gold and silver.

Rong Shi lowered his eyelashes, the dense shadows casting onto the eyelids, concealing all emotions in his eyes.

He walked slowly to stand opposite Chuzheng: “I dare ask, what was the reason today?”

The man’s voice was deep, carrying a cool quality.

Chuzheng answered briefly: “Fell into water.”

Rong Shi pursued further: “Why did she fall into the water.”

Chuzheng propped her hand against her forehead, tilting her head to gaze at him: “Anyway, I didn’t push her.”

Chuzheng’s response left Rong Shi montarily taken aback.

However, he quickly adjusted his mindset, “Does the Empress Dowager know who was responsible?”

Chuzheng was curious: “What, do you intend to kill them?”

“…”

No matter how good Rong Shi’s ntal strength, he now found it hard to respond to Chuzheng.

Rong Shi took a slight breath: “I just wish to understand the reason.”

Chuzheng initially thought to say she wasn’t obliged to answer, but the King’s Account roared at her to act like a decent person.

Chuzheng reluctantly instructed Su Xue to explain the situation to him.

Rong Shi listened without much reaction.

It was unclear if he cared about Yudie or not.

“Empress Dowager, I have one question to ask.”

Chuzheng sipped the tea Su Xue provided: “Ask.”

“As a princess, is this truly the treatnt she deserves?”

Rong Shi’s voice was cold and condensed, listening carefully it sounded like questioning.

“General Rongshi, matters of the Harem are not your concern.” Chuzheng set down the teacup: “Besides, I’m not in charge, Noble Consort Xuan is.”
