Capítulo 1430: Chapter 1430: Chronicles of the ’70s (5)

Chuzheng locked the room tightly, ignoring Ling Shu and Zhang Xiaoping’s commotion outside.

Finally, bothered by the noise, she directly asked Yin Xian to block out the sound.

The next day.

Chuzheng ca out from her room just as Zhang Xiaoping was preparing to go out. Seeing her, Zhang Xiaoping imdiately pulled a long face.

“Sleeping until the sun’s up, even pigs don’t sleep as much as you do. Look at others, they’ve long been up working. Raising you is worse than raising a dog.”

Chuzheng ignored her and fetched water to wash up.

Zhang Xiaoping cursed and complained for a long ti, but since Chuzheng paid her no mind, she felt as though she was blocked by a wad of cotton, unable to move, feeling stifled.

“I’m talking to you, did you hear …”

Chuzheng picked up the kitchen knife beside her, exuding a nacing aura, and asked gloomily, “Hear what?”

Blabbering since morning, boasting about her good voice or what!

Zhang Xiaoping: “…”

Zhang Xiaoping originally wanted Chuzheng to give back the room, but seeing Chuzheng with the knife, Zhang Xiaoping instantly chickened out.

Zhang Xiaoping is the kind who faces off against won of similar ilk, but when truly faced with knife-wielding individuals, Zhang Xiaoping recoils.

“You… you wash all the clothes, and later go to the fields, or else you’ll see!”

Zhang Xiaoping threw those words and left hastily.

Chuzheng tossed the kitchen knife aside, took a turn around the house, and didn’t see anything to eat.

Washing clothes was impossible.

So when Zhang Xiaoping returned, the clothes were still in their original place.

Zhang Xiaoping was just about to go off when she saw Chuzheng sitting in the yard, holding a knife…

When Ling Shu returned, Zhang Xiaoping pulled him along, pointing at Chuzheng, claiming she was nuts.

“What nonsense are you spouting?”

“She threatened with a knife this morning, wants to chop to death,” Zhang Xiaoping said. “I reckon she’s possessed these past couple of days! Also, about the room, you need to intervene!!”

Ling Shu: “…”

Ling Shu told Zhang Xiaoping to stop talking nonsense and walked over to Chuzheng.

“Big Sis.”

Chuzheng: “…”

Don’t let find out who ca up with this na!!

Ling Shu said, “How about you share the room with Jiaojiao?”

Chuzheng didn’t even lift her head, “No.”

Ling Shu: “You can’t possibly use such a big room alone; you and Jiaojiao are both girls…”

Chuzheng raised her eyes, her cold gaze falling on Ling Shu, “Ling Jiaojiao used to live alone too; why didn’t you have her give half then?”

“Jiaojiao is your sister; as her elder sister, how can you argue with her?”

Ling Shu deftly said this.

He used to tell the original owner that you’re the elder sister, you need to let your younger sister have things.

Thus, the original owner never had a share of anything good at ho.

Chuzheng even doubted if the original owner was truly his biological child…

Chuzheng said without changing her expression, “My sister willingly offered to give the room.”

Ling Shu: “…”

Chuzheng icily threw down these words: “If she dares to share the room with , let her co.”

Ling Shu didn’t catch the implication in Chuzheng’s words, and upon hearing this, he imdiately went to report back to Zhang Xiaoping.

Zhang Xiaoping was clearly not satisfied, but the situation now is that the stepdaughter was no longer the pliable person she used to be.

So Zhang Xiaoping could only reluctantly agree.

However, when Ling Jiaojiao returned and heard about it, her face turned pale, shaking her head vigorously, refusing to share the room with Chuzheng no matter what.

Ultimately, Ling Jiaojiao could only temporarily move into her brother’s room.

In rural areas, there are few houses, and siblings often squeeze together, which is nothing unusual.

But Ling Jiaojiao was inwardly upset, and Ling Shu, being prompted by her complaints, soon began renovating the woodshed.

Chuzheng watched coldly.

The original owner lived there for so long, yet never saw Ling Shu ntion tidying up for her. On rainy days, she could only curl up in a small spot.

Now that Ling Jiaojiao went to live there, they imdiately made space for her, repaired the roof, and installed an electric lamp.

Parents can be terrifyingly biased at tis.

Fortunately, I’m not the original owner.

The woodshed was newly renovated, though not as good as the previous room, but having been thoroughly frightened by Chuzheng, Ling Jiaojiao didn’t dare to act up, obediently moving into the new room.

After a few days, Chuzheng experienced the deepest impression here—poverty.

You’re poor, I’m poor, everyone is poor.

Sotis, people even fought over a bite to eat.

[Don’t be afraid, girl, we’ve got money!]

King’s Account shouted for attention.

Chuzheng earnestly said, “I think being poor is quite nice.”

[…]

[Main quest: Please spend 100 yuan within six hours.]

Issue a quest to cool down.

Chuzheng: “…”

Chuzheng changed her clothes and went out.

Upon stepping out, she could see the fields; it was the busy farming season, and people were working in the fields.

The labor point system granted labor points based on work volu to exchange for food coupons and at vouchers.

So, whoever’s family worked better, their living standards are surely higher.

Besides those working in the fields, there were others working in the town’s factory.

Factory workers earned wages; these were the truly enviable ones.

If a family had soone working as a manager in the factory, it was practically reaching the pinnacle of life.

Every household wished they could ingratiate themselves to get their labor force employed.

Ling Shu previously wanted to work in the factory, but despite having found connections, he was told upon arrival that it was full.

Other managers from the factory made arrangents to include more people.

The factory required a set number of people, allowing one or two more was fine; beyond that, the boss would have to talk.

Zhang Xiaoping often complained to Ling Shu about this.

Chuzheng crossed the ridge, encountering Ling i working along the way.

“Sis, where are you going?”

“To town,” Chuzheng responded casually.

“Hey…”

Ling i climbed out of the field.

“Sis, what are you going to do in town?” Ling i asked curiously.

“…” Ruin things, what else can I do, it’s my only activity. “Shop.”

“Then, can you bring sothing?” Ling i didn’t even ask what she was buying.

“Mm, what?”

Ling i pulled out a fabric coupon and asked her to bring back so fabric.

“Mm.”

Chuzheng took the fabric coupon and walked toward the village outskirts.

It’s working ti now, and many people watched her walk down the road.

Chuzheng ignored them and walked past indifferently.

As she left the village and approached a small grove, Chuzheng heard soone calling her.

A young man in a Zhongshan suit stood behind a haystack, waving at her.

Chuzheng’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Xu Dawei… the educated youth the original owner liked; the two were still in a relationship.

Of course, it was clandestine.

Xu Dawei was an educated youth, much more handso compared to the young n from the village.

The original owner and Xu Dawei had feelings for each other, hardly breaking the paper-thin barrier to get together.

Yet, not long after being together, Ling Jiaojiao sabotaged them.

At that ti, Zhang Xiaoping wanted to marry off the original owner, but Xu Dawei realized that the other party wasn’t easy to deal with. When the original owner ca to find him for help, he kept dodging and stalling.

Such a man has no sense of responsibility.

And he’s fickle!

A complete scumbag!

Xu Dawei waved to Chuzheng, signaling her to co over.

Chuzheng thought about it and walked over.
