Now reading: Chapter 1770: Storm Over the Tower (7) from Let's Squander A Billion First!, a Sci-fi novel by Mo Ling.

Wugu Mountain isn’t close to Linjiang City, even traveling day and night took three days.

Chuzheng lifted the curtain to look at the distant peaks.

The night had descended, the sky at the horizon faintly revealed a few stars, the peaks were shrouded in a thin mist, like a veil, draped over Wugu Mountain.

It was clearly a scene of peace, but for so reason, it gave an inexplicable sense of oppression.

"Tower Master, there’s a scent of blood."

Soone from outside reported to her.

Chuzheng slled it too, not strong, mixed in the wind, passing by and then disappearing, making it impossible to discern where it ca from.

Xin Yu discovered that the hairpin they carried with them was lost. That hairpin had been with them since they could rember, and they believed it was left by their parents, so they valued it greatly, thinking they might find their parents soday.

No matter why their parents abandoned them, they still wanted to see them.

They held onto a sliver of hope, thinking maybe there was a hidden reason their parents had to leave them.

Xi Nan asked Xin Yu about where it might have been lost, and then disappeared.

Everyone values different things; just because it’s a tiny, worthless item, doesn’t an it’s trivial to the other person.

Perhaps to soone else, it could be worth a fortune.

The place it was most likely lost was where they fought with those people... what if those people are still lingering there, what will happen to Xi Nan?

Worried that Xi Nan might encounter danger going out, she beca anxious.

"Be careful." Chuzheng looked into the distance, calmly giving an order, "Follow this road."

"Yes."

The carriage swayed leisurely into the darkness ahead.

Chuzheng sat in the jolting carriage, scratching at the carriage wall lifelessly.

She should be lying comfortably on the Consort Chair right now, not bumping along here!!!

The carriage swayed and trembled, and after an unknown amount of ti, Chuzheng heard the soft pattering sound of rain.

"Whoa——"

The carriage ca to an abrupt stop, nearly throwing Chuzheng out.

Damn it!

Stopping suddenly without a warning?

"Tower Master, it seems there’s the sound of a fight ahead."

Chuzheng lifted the curtain, the clamor of clashing weapons crystal clear in the light rain, and the wind carried a strong scent of blood.

"Why are you standing there? Waiting to collect Xi Nan’s corpse?"

The people outside, startled, rushed towards the direction of the sound.

The night was thick, and under the gleaming blades, several figures, like phantoms, encircled one person.

Except for the person being surrounded, everyone else was dressed similarly, with black cloaks and hoods covering their heads.

"It doesn’t seem like Young Master Xi Nan..."

Xi Nan’s stature didn’t quite match that of the person being attacked.

Chuzheng rested her elbow on the window, watching the scene like a spectator. Since she said nothing, others dared not act rashly, all watching silently.

[Hidden Mission: Obtain a Good Person Card from Man Yue, prevent the Good Person Card from turning dark.]

Planning to watch the drama to relieve her boredom, Chuzheng thought, "..."

In the middle of nowhere, a group of people was brawling.

Then the Bastard issued a task, as if it needed explaining who the target was?

Why is it that when she’s not saving a Good Person Card, she’s on the road to saving one, how did she end up with such a pitiful life?

Did the Good Person Card save the galaxy?

[Miss, if you have ti to complain, why not save the Good Person Card first?] King’s Account suggested to Chuzheng.

If not now, then when!

Miss, charge!!

Chuzheng remained unmoved, coldly watching that side—Too dark, can’t see anything, just so ghostly shadows flitting about.

Chuzheng lowered the carriage window’s curtain and got off.

"Tower Master."

Soone imdiately held an umbrella for Chuzheng, shielding her from the drizzling rain.

Chuzheng headed towards the fighting, having soone light a lantern as she made her grand entrance, imdiately raising the alert of those involved.

The wind in the mountain forest grew urgent, a group of people leisurely carrying lanterns approached, the girl in front holding an umbrella; the scene appeared eerie no matter how you looked at it.

The people there halted, looking at her strangely.

The one being attacked in the middle propped himself up with his sword, clutching his chest, gasping for breath, seizing the chance to regain strength.

The approaching girl was elegantly dressed, like an esteed young lady who had strayed into the wilderness.

Yet she carried a serene cold aura that couldn’t be ignored but was too daunting to behold directly.

The girl stood on a slightly elevated mound, her indifferent voice piercing through the rainy night, "Why are you looking at ? I’m just passing by, carry on."

Everyone: "..."

You hardly seem like you’re just passing by.

Chuzheng’s strange appearance made the group hesitant to act rashly.

The atmosphere was awkwardly tense, like a strained bowstring on the verge of snapping.

"You’re not fighting?" Chuzheng waited, seeing them unmoved, then leisurely asked, "So, who among you is Man Yue?"

That group looked around cautiously, clearly none of them bore that na.

"Apologies for the disturbance."

Chuzheng turned to leave.

The Good Person Card was only near this area; it didn’t an it was one of them.

"Wait a mont!"

Soone called out to her.

Chuzheng turned her head; it was the person surrounded in the middle who spoke, now exhausted, speaking in pants.

"I know where he is." Regardless of why this girl was searching for Man Yue, now was his chance.

Chuzheng raised an eyebrow, her steps casually reversing, the hem of her dress drawing an arc in the air, light and shadow flickering, her shadow cast long and thin.

The ones not touched by the light behind her stood like phantoms in her backdrop, each appearing eerie.

Fengman Building’s people: "..." It’s all thanks to the guts given by our Tower Master, or we’d never dare stand here!!

The girl’s cold voice echoed slowly, "You know?"

That person nodded, "I know."

"Where?"

"First, rescue ."

The atmosphere shifted abruptly. The attackers hesitated to act because they were unsure of Chuzheng’s background, and she had brought quite a few people.

But now, this person blatantly asked for rescue; how could they remain calm?

Imdiately, soone lunged towards the center.

The besieged person struggled to draw his sword to parry.

"If I die, you’ll never find him!!" he roared at Chuzheng.

Chuzheng: "..."

You’re even threatening now!

"Get him out," Chuzheng signaled to soone nearby.

Her followers: "..."

Shivering in fear.

Can’t we not go?

"Tower Master... I think... I can’t beat them. To save face for Fengman Building, I recomnd Ah Mu go!"

That person imdiately pushed soone forward and hid behind.

The one pushed forward, Ah Mu, repeatedly waved his hands, "No, no, I can’t."

They had observed earlier; these people’s martial arts clearly surpassed theirs. To confront them ant courting death.

A sense of self-awareness is crucial; blind sacrifice is futile.

Ah Mu pushed another forward, and the group began pushing each other, creating a bizarre scene.

Chuzheng: "..."

Their opponents: "..." Are you joking? With that impressive display just now, we assud you’d be formidable. But it turns out this is it?
