Now reading: Chapter 1848: Lost in the Wilderness (5) from Let's Squander A Billion First!, a Sci-fi novel by Mo Ling.

Money?

In this wilderness, that bastard can’t possibly make her spend money again, right?

[...]

Soone is talking to you, and you’re thinking about this kind of stuff, can’t you show so respect!

"Xiao Chu, Lan Chen likes you now, but what if he doesn’t like you anymore? What else do you have?" Li Tian advised her, "Lan Chen is rich and quite handso, what do you have to be picky about?"

Chuzheng replied nonchalantly, "Since he’s so great, you can keep him." She couldn’t handle a scumbag like him, if she couldn’t have him, she’d have to destroy him, it was too vicious.

Li Tian’s expression changed slightly, then she scolded, "What nonsense are you talking about!"

Her voice was a bit loud, and the others started looking their way.

Li Tian imdiately lowered her head and spoke in a hushed voice, "Xiao Chu, I’m saying this for your own good, think about it carefully."

After speaking, Li Tian returned to Xie Ningfeng’s side.

Chuzheng watched Li Tian’s back thoughtfully.

After a ten-minute break, the group set off again.

-

Rustle... rustle...

Rain fell on the leaves with a rustling sound, a few tents ford a circle, and Chuzheng sat by the side of a tent, watching the rain outside.

Opposite her was Brother Gao’s tent, where a few people were sitting together playing cards.

Li Tian and Xie Ningfeng were in Lan Chen’s tent, they called Chuzheng over earlier, but she didn’t move.

Lan Chen, wearing a raincoat, ran over from the other side, holding a few snacks in his hand.

His nose was slightly red, looking a bit like a red alcoholic nose, sowhat comical.

Lan Chen handed over the snacks, "Xiao Chu, here, these are all your favorites, have so?"

"I don’t want any."

"You don’t have to be so cold." Lan Chen grinned, "It’s raining so hard outside, let in first, let’s talk."

Lan Chen attempted to enter Chuzheng’s tent.

Chuzheng held a dry branch against his chest, her voice icy amid the sound of rain, "Your tent is over there."

"..."

Once again rebuffed, Lan Chen returned to his tent feeling extrely annoyed.

"Ungrateful." Lan Chen lost his temper once inside, "What are you pretending to be so aloof for, you’re all here anyway, why not have so fun."

Lan Chen looked at Li Tian, "What did you say to her? She took the money, what’s she pretending for?"

Li Tian: "Chen, that’s just how she is, I’ll find another chance to talk to her."

"Annoying." Lan Chen displeased, drove both Li Tian and Xie Ningfeng out.

Li Tian wanted to find Chuzheng, but found that her tent was already closed.

As the rain poured down harder, Li Tian had no choice but to return to the tent with Xie Ningfeng.

-

The next day.

So ti in the night, the rain stopped, and the sky cleared up. The blue sky and white clouds were even bluer than those seen in the city, and the air held a freshness unique to post-rain.

Chuzheng erged from her tent, just in ti to see Gan Lu disgustedly toss a bag of biscuits in front of Yao Qing.

Yao Qing silently picked up the biscuits and slowly began to eat.

Brother Gao and his group were packing up the tent, almost done, while on Chuzheng’s side, Xie Ningfeng had just erged, and there was no movent from Lan Chen’s side.

"Aren’t you going to hurry up, we’re about to leave." Gan Lu sneered, "Don’t keep us waiting."

"So what if we wait? We’re all in one team now." Li Tian, who just walked out, couldn’t help but retort.

"With you lot, you might as well go back, otherwise if you get hurt, you’ll drag us down," Gan Lu chuckled coldly.

"What did you say!"

"Are you deaf? Can’t hear what I said?"

"Damn it!"

A dispute between the two won was about to erupt.

Brother Gao and Xie Ningfeng both stepped in to pull them apart.

Amidst the argunt, Chuzheng approached the silently munching guide Uncle Min, pulled out a few bills, and asked Uncle Min to help her pack the tent.

With the money, Uncle Min was quick to help.

By the ti the argunt was over, Chuzheng was all packed and ready to go.

Gan Lu probably wanted to vent her anger on Chuzheng, but when she looked over and saw that she was already packed up, her anger had nowhere to go, turning her face red.

It seed Chuzheng didn’t appreciate it, and Lan Chen didn’t help her carry anything.

Chuzheng didn’t mind, she just paid Uncle Min to carry things.

[Missy, you see that, where there are people around, money is useful.] The King’s Account boasted.

If not, you’d have to carry these things yourself.

Chuzheng was unconcerned: I can just put them in Space (ability).

[...]

"Uncle Min, why are you carrying her stuff?" Gan Lu was the first to complain, "Doesn’t she have hands?"

"Hey, it’s fine, it’s not that heavy." Uncle Min waved it off.

Gan Lu wanted to say more but was pulled away by Brother Gao.

"Gan Lu, don’t cause trouble, mind your own business." Brother Gao was sowhat angry.

Gan Lu: "..."

Chuzheng couldn’t understand, they didn’t provoke her, why was she so angry?

This wasn’t the way to be short-tempered.

She didn’t understand today’s young people.

Their minds were hard to figure out.

Today’s path was even harder than yesterday’s, first because of the rain, and second because the path itself was difficult.

Tall grass reached up to a person’s waist, if one squatted down, they were completely hidden.

"Aah!"

Yao Qing, walking in the middle, suddenly scread.

"What happened!" Xiao Qiu, who was closest to Yao Qing, imdiately asked.

"There... sothing went past my foot." Yao Qing was frightened, hugging her arms and trembling.

Gan Lu rolled her eyes, "Lady, it’s normal to have bugs in the wild, what are you screaming for."

Yao Qing’s lips trembled, "No... it wasn’t a bug."

She could feel it, it was definitely not a bug.

Xiao Qiu looked around, "There’s nothing there." He had been walking ahead of Yao Qing, and didn’t hear anything.

"Is it a snake?" Li Tian clung to Xie Ningfeng’s arm, "With grass this tall, there must be snakes, right?"

"Probably not..." Xie Ningfeng hesitantly replied, "Don’t worry, I’ll protect you."

Li Tian didn’t respond.

Lan Chen wanted to get closer to Chuzheng, but after being rejected so many tis, he swallowed his pride and stayed put.

Chuzheng, carrying nothing, stood easily, like she was just on an outing.

Brother Gao instructed Uncle Min and Xiao Mo to lead from the front, while he moved beside Yao Qing, "Let’s keep going."

Chuzheng lagged behind, and just as she was about to step forward, there was a sudden rustle behind her.

She turned to look, the wind swept over the tall grass, creating a ripple.

"Damn it!"

Soone ahead suddenly cursed.

Then Chuzheng saw a shadow dart out, leaping onto Xiao Qiu’s backpack.

Was that... a monkey?

A white monkey? Completely white, with a long tail, sowhat different from the monkeys they usually saw.

The first monkey jumped onto Xiao Qiu’s backpack and began to claw at it.

Soon the surrounding area was filled with rustling sounds, and one by one the white monkeys appeared.

"Everyone be careful!!"

A monkey appeared from the grass beside Chuzheng, agilely jumping to her feet, grabbing her clothes.

Chuzheng imdiately kicked it away, the white monkey flipped over and rolled into the grass next to her, disappearing from her sight in an instant.
