Chapter 676: Chapter 676: Encountering Splendid Auspiciousness (10)

Everyone in the office was discussing the matter, and when Chuzheng took her seat, the short-haired girl ca over and talked to her about the case.

Chuzheng wasn’t interested and listened absentmindedly, the words entering one ear and leaving the other.

“There’s a client interface later, Chuzheng, you and Xiaoxiao should go.”

Xiaoxiao was the short-haired girl.

“Ah?” The short-haired girl expressed shock directly, “We’re just interns…”

“It’s not a big client”, the other person patted Xiaoxiao on the shoulder, “you two will do just fine. There will be soone from the client departnt guiding you, you just need to listen to the client’s opinions and requirents, I believe in you.”

After saying that, the person turned and went sowhere else.

Xiaoxiao slumped into her chair, clutching her pen tightly, nervous, “Can I do this? I still don’t know anything… ”

She muttered to herself for a while, then turned to look at Chuzheng, who was leisurely clicking through web pages with her mouse in hand.

“Chuzheng, aren’t you nervous?”

“Nervous about what?”

“About us… going by ourselves… aren’t you nervous?”

“What’s there to be nervous about? Soone will lead us.” They were just going to hear the client’s specific demands and opinions, not do anything themselves, nothing to be nervous about, it wasn’t difficult.

“I’m nervous!” Xiaoxiao’s face fell.

Chuzheng thought for a mont, “Drink more water.”

“??”

The colleague from the client departnt soon ca to call them.

But Chuzheng hadn’t expected the client… to be Xiao Ze.

It seed that those people knew the client was Xiao Ze, so they deliberately made her go.

The workplace is truly frightening.

Xiao Ze hadn’t been doing well these past couple of days, dark circles under his eyes, his whole appearance haggard, quite fitting the image of a heartbroken young man.

In contrast, Chuzheng seed detached, dressed neatly, without a hint of disarray.

She broke up with him and didn’t seem the least bit sad?

Xiao Ze couldn’t understand.

How could she, who used to like him so much, suddenly break up with him, and do so heartlessly?

Xiao Ze, thinking of what he had found out, felt his mood sink even further.

Could it be that she found soone else and thus kicked him to the curb?

“Mr. Xiao… Mr. Xiao?” The colleague from the client departnt called twice.

Xiao Ze returned his gaze, “I’m sorry, please take a seat.”

After everyone sat down, the colleague from the client departnt exchanged a few pleasantries with practiced ease, then got to the heart of the matter.

Xiaoxiao kept her head down, frantically writing sothing.

“Mr. Xiao, if you have any specific requests, feel free to speak now, and our colleagues will work according to your requirents and feedback.”

After the colleague finished speaking, he waited for Xiao Ze to speak.

However, Xiao Ze had been distractedly gazing at Chuzheng.

The colleague’s gaze lingered between the two for a mont before trying again, “Mr. Xiao?”

“Hmm?” Xiao Ze ca back to reality.

The colleague repeated politely, “Do you have any specific requests or suggestions?”

Xiao Ze steadied his nerves and focused his attention on business matters.

By the ti both parties finished communicating, it was almost ti for lunch.

“Let treat you to a al,” Xiao Ze offered spontaneously.

“Mr. Xiao, there’s no need for trouble, we have to get back to the company.”

“No matter how busy work is, you have to eat. You would eat back at the company anyway. Eating out is the sa, unless you don’t want to have lunch with ?”

“This…” The client is the king.

The king is offering a al, and the client departnt colleague found it hard to decline.

Chuzheng didn’t want to have a al with Xiao Ze at all and quickly found an excuse to slip away.

The colleague from the client departnt couldn’t even stop her… and he was a bit afraid to try.

This intern from the creative departnt was rumored to have already conducted a fishing expedition, taking down a veteran employee.

Moreover, since leaving the company, she hadn’t changed her expression once; that icy deanor truly gave others the chills.

Chuzheng walked to the entrance of the cafe, just about to pull the door open when coincidentally soone pushed the door from outside, causing the wind chi on the door to tinkle softly.

The man was dressed in a white shirt, sleeves rolled up to reveal his pale wrists, one hand pushing the door, the other holding two books with black covers that barely revealed the word ‘Scalpel.’

Their gazes t in the air.

It was dim that night, and Chuzheng hadn’t taken a close look.

But now upon closer inspection, she found the man was truly handso.

However, there always seed to be a layer of mist shrouding him, making him feel very unreal, including his appearance.

“Miss Jin, what a coincidence,” Yan Yu quickly broke the silence.

Chuzheng withdrew her scrutinizing gaze: “Hmm.”

Yan Yu asked, “What brings Miss Jin here?”

Chuzheng answered calmly, “Discussing work.”

Their exchange didn’t seem stiff.

It was as if they had known each other for a long ti.

Yan Yu glanced at his watch, “I haven’t thanked you for the previous case, would I have the honor to invite Miss Jin for lunch?”

When he said this, there wasn’t much expression on his face, as if he was just politely saying so.

“I’ll pay.” Leave the spending to !

“But how can I…”

“No, thanks.”

The place was chosen by Yan Yu, a Western restaurant with a nice environnt.

Perhaps because it was lunchti, there weren’t many people.

Yan Yu handed the nu to Chuzheng, who didn’t take it, and said casually, “I’ll have whatever you’re having.”

The hand Yan Yu held the nu with paused slightly, his heart felt as if it were struck by sothing, very lightly, yet sending ripples slowly spreading out.

He naturally took the nu back and gestured for the waiter to co over for the order.

“I still have to thank Miss Jin for providing clues to the case.”

“Even if I hadn’t spoken up, the police could have found the killer very quickly.” Chuzheng was clear about her own relevancy.

Yan Yu didn’t argue, “But Miss Jin’s clues allowed us to catch the killer faster and solve the case in the shortest ti, so we still have to thank you.”

“Don’t ntion it, as long as you think I’m a good person, that’s good enough.”

I’m trying to be a good person every day!

“?” Yan Yu’s tone rose a little: “Does Miss Jin have a specific purpose?”

“Hmm,” Chuzheng admitted unabashedly.

“Why do you want to think you’re a good person?” This question was strange, but also a bit… familiar? It felt like he had heard it sowhere before.

Chuzheng: “Why do you ask so many questions.” If only I could explain it to you.

You just need to think I am.

Yan Yu: “…”

Trying to be a good person, yet so fierce?

The waiter brought in the al, and Yan Yu and Chuzheng paused their conversation until the waiter left. Then, Yan Yu took out his Scalpel.

Chuzheng: “!!!” What are you doing! Pretending not to see, Chuzheng figured that if he made a move, she had to knock him out first!

After disinfecting, Yan Yu used the sharp Scalpel to cut the steak.

The Scalpel was much faster than the knives provided by the restaurant, slicing effortlessly through the steak as if cutting through tofu.

Chuzheng struggled with her own cutting, considering whether to ask if she could borrow his knife.

But on second thought, she dismissed the idea as it would damage her image— who asks to borrow a knife while eating steak?

Chuzheng had to push that thought away.

Suddenly, Yan Yu stood up: “Miss Jin, if you don’t mind…”

He gestured towards her plate.

Chuzheng lifted her hand and Yan Yu took her plate, placing the pieces he had cut in front of her.

The steak cut by Yan Yu was very neatly done, each piece almost identical in size.

After taking a bite, Chuzheng was suddenly addressed by Yan Yu, “Miss Jin, I used a Scalpel to cut this for you, you don’t mind, do you?”
