Chapter 759: Chapter 759: The Wicked Woman Farms (15)

Qiu Ya completely forgot what had happened before; his mory began from the mont he was picked up and brought back to the village, where he went hungry and worked hard only to be beaten every day.

And the mories he had after waking up were all spent being beaten and starved.

He had developed an instinct.

If he didn’t work, he would go hungry; he couldn’t talk back, say no, or make requests, or else he might be hit.

It took Miss Chuzheng a great deal of effort to make him believe that he truly wouldn’t be beaten or starved here.

“Brother Liang, have you noticed that kid is a bit stupid?”

The bandits were squatting in the yard eating breakfast.

Liang Han was drinking a bowl of porridge and, at that comnt, looked up towards the room.

The girl was feeding the man porridge, her expression as indifferent as always, revealing no emotion.

But from her actions, it was evident she was fairly patient.

“No need to say,” Liang Han rolled his eyes and then lectured, “Eat more, look less, get to work after you’re done.”

It was clear to everyone that Qiu Ya was not quite normal.

“Brother Liang, we’re just curious…”

“Yeah, Brother Liang, do you think Miss Chuzheng is going to keep him?”

“Not to ntion, that kid is really good-looking, I think he’s better looking than the won here.”

“Curious?” Liang Han sneered, “Be careful or Miss Chuzheng will give you trouble.”

“…”

Upon hearing this, everyone imdiately lost their curiosity.

No matter who this person was, it had nothing to do with them.

All they needed to do was to keep themselves alive.

Liang Han quickly finished his porridge and went inside to speak with Chuzheng, then left with a few people to fetch the cook, and incidentally, to check on Qiu Ya’s identity.

“They’re so fierce…”

Qiu Ya cowered behind a cabinet, afraid to co out.

“How can they beat people if they’re not fierce,” Chuzheng glanced at Qiu Ya and then softened her tone, “They don’t dare bully you.”

Qiu Ya fumbled with the cabinet, peeping outside.

“Really… really?”

Chuzheng took a deep breath.

Good Person Card was an idiot.

She needed double the patience to deal with him.

After all, he was her Good Person Card!

“Mhm.”

Only then did Qiu Ya relax a bit.

Chuzheng felt life was bleak, saddled with a massive baby.

After eating, she took him to town to buy things.

Qiu Ya, fearful of strangers, clung to Chuzheng’s sleeve the whole ti, following wherever she went.

Chuzheng finished buying him clothes.

When she turned around, Qiu Ya, who had been standing by her side, had disappeared.

She looked around and finally spotted Qiu Ya; a few children with sugar figurines were circling around him.

Qiu Ya clutched at his own clothes, visibly panicked and turning in circles on the spot.

“Idiot, idiot, haha, look at the idiot!”

The laughter and teasing of the children made Qiu Ya even more anxious.

“Idiot, do you want to eat?” one of the children stepped forward, brandishing a sugar figurine threateningly at Qiu Ya.

“No…” Qiu Ya shook his head, wanting to leave, but he was blocked by the encircling children.

“Idiots aren’t allowed to leave. Play with us.”

“Yeah, where are you going? Play with us, and we’ll give you a sugar figurine to eat.”

No matter where Qiu Ya turned, he was rudely blocked by the children.

The passersby only glanced casually, surprised by Qiu Ya’s appearance, but then walked away unconcerned, letting the children bully him.

“Idiot, if you want to eat, bark like a dog for us to see!”

The child who spoke was suddenly grabbed by the collar.

The child was lifted off the ground, with the collar choking his throat, unable to speak, his entire face instantly turning red.

“Bark like a dog for you to see?”

The girl’s icy voice rang out close to the child’s ears.

The other children instantly stood together, pointing at Chuzheng, “You… let him go!!”

Chuzheng released the child, and the bandits behind him held the child down.

“Let go! Who are you people!”

The bandits glared at the child with a nacing look, and the child imdiately stuttered, turning pale with fear.

Chuzheng, expressionless, pulled Qiu Ya into her arms. Qiu Ya trembled, wishing he could shrink entirely into her embrace.

“I… I couldn’t find you,” Qiu Ya said, his voice shaking.

Chuzheng patted his back.

Passersby pointed at Chuzheng and Qiu Ya, whispering about the impropriety of cuddling in public.

Chuzheng, as if deaf, rely asked Qiu Ya, “How did you end up here?”

Qiu Ya didn’t respond, just looked up pitifully toward the sugar figurine stall not far away, his eyes filled with longing and hope.

Chuzheng: “…”

All for this?!

How old are you!

Good Person Card is an idiot, probably has the intelligence of a child… indeed, a child…

Calm down.

Good Person Card, Good Person Card!!!

Chuzheng led him over and bought him two sugar figurines, one for each hand.

Qiu Ya looked troubled, his expression deflated as he said with grievance, “I… I can’t hold your hand now.”

Chuzheng struggled to maintain her cold boss deanor, “I’ll hold one for you.”

Qiu Ya bead with joy, handing her one sugar figurine and then his hand, flashing a radiant smile, “This way I won’t lose you again.”

“Hmm.”

Chuzheng held on a little tighter.

She glanced over at the children from before, “Take these children away.”

“No, let go!”

“Help!”

“Mom! Dad!”

“Help…”

Chuzheng conspicuously took several children away, and the word quickly spread on the street.

The parents of these children all conducted business on this sa street.

Upon hearing that their children had been taken, they left their businesses and ran out, following the direction indicated by passersby.

When they arrived, this was the scene they encountered―

Several children cowered in the corner, sobbing loudly, constantly crying for their parents to save them.

Two large black dogs, held by leashes, roared at them, the ferocity of which could unsettle even adults.

The dogs were only a half ter away from the children.

If the person holding the dogs relaxed even slightly, the dogs would pounce on the children.

There were a few other people as well.

A very handso man sat in a chair, yet leaned against a girl, seemingly terrified by the scene before him, his deanor and actions not that of a normal person.

And the girl watched the scene unfold with detachnt.

Behind them stood two tall and burly n, appearing to be their guardians.

“What… what are you doing!!”

A few adults advanced with trepidation.

Before they could get close, the bandits blocked them.

Unable to approach, the parents grew frantic with anxiety, their gaze sweeping the area until finally locking onto Chuzheng.

“You’re crazy, those are my children, what do you want to do!”

“Release my child.”

“My child…”

“The child is so young, what grudge could they possibly hold against you that you would treat a child this way!!”

The children’s wailing, the fierce barking of the dogs, and the tremulous scolding of the adults rged into a cacophony.

Chuzheng glanced at them indifferently.

Her pale cherry lips parted slightly as she spoke in a cool, detached tone without a hint of fluctuation, “They wanted to hear a dog bark, so let them have their fill.”

“What?”

The several adults, not knowing the reason behind all this, naturally did not understand what Chuzheng was saying.
