Chapter 849: Chapter 849: Internet Celebrity Ace (33)
Fu Chi found it sowhat amusing.
How had he co to accept it so naturally?
Seeing her defend him didn’t make him feel ashad, but happy instead.
He must be crazy…
“Not happy?” Chuzheng asked when Fu Chi didn’t respond.
“No,” Fu Chi said, “I’m very happy as long as you’re by my side.”
What outsiders said couldn’t affect him.
Chuzheng looked down at the chaos below and said in an even tone, “I’ll be here.”
The venue was noisy, and Fu Chi didn’t hear her.
Fu Chi was puzzled, “Why did he suddenly fall down?”
Chuzheng’s tone was cool, “Such a big guy, can’t even walk properly, needs to learn.”
Fu Chi: “…”
At the ti, the boy was behind them. Although Fu Chi found his fall a bit strange, there was no reason for suspicion.
Not until the staff took the boy away did Chuzheng lead Fu Chi down.
The first row was all celebrities, while Fu Chi and Chuzheng’s seats were in the second row.
People gradually filled the venue, with seats continuously being taken around them.
“Is that Fu Chi?”
“I think so…”
“He’s really good-looking.”
“Should we go say hi?”
So people ca over to greet them. Fu Chi responded with polite distance, while Chuzheng couldn’t be bothered to deal with these people; she wasn’t a part of this circle.
“I heard Fu Chi was wholly pushed by his wife.”
“A kept man, huh?”
“With looks like that, anyone promoting him would make him famous.”
“His wife is really rich…”
Chuzheng turned around and glanced at the two people who were speaking.
They were engrossed in their conversation when they suddenly felt a chill and looked up to et Chuzheng’s gaze.
Caught by the person of subject, their faces turned awkward, and they hurriedly looked away.
–
The award ceremony began at seven thirty.
The venue was almost full.
The hosts and the venue were ready, and the ceremony officially started.
There were many awards, big and small, to be given out; Fu Chi’s award was last, and Chuzheng leaned on him, dozing off.
“I’m going to the restroom,” Fu Chi whispered to Chuzheng.
“I’ll go with you.”
“No need, I’ll be back quickly,” Fu Chi smiled, stood up, and left by the side.
Chuzheng leaned against the chair when suddenly a girl tapped her, “Miss.”
Chuzheng turned to look at her.
The girl had a radiant smile, “Can you give an autograph?”
Chuzheng: “??”
Have I beco famous?
“Cough cough…” The girl seed a bit embarrassed, “If it’s convenient, could you also get Startled Crane Search’s autograph for ?”
The girl clasped her hands together, her eyes brimming with sparkly stars of hope.
Chuzheng: “…”
Asking for my autograph is just a pretense, the real aim is Fu Chi’s, isn’t it!
“He might not sign,” Chuzheng said, “You can ask him yourself.”
Fu Chi rarely gave autographs.
That had nothing to do with her; it was his own habit.
“Please, I really like you guys,” the girl pouted, “You two are the best-looking couple I’ve ever seen.”
Even if you complint …
“I’ll ask him for you.”
“You’re so kind, miss,” the girl imdiately took out a small notebook from her coat and handed it over.
Chuzheng flipped through it roughly—the front was full of autographs…
Is this like collecting stamps?
Buzz buzz buzz—
The caller ID showed ii.
Why would she call herself?
“Hello.”
Chuzheng answered the phone, lowering her voice.
Music was playing on the stage at that mont, creating so noise.
It took Chuzheng a while to make out the words, then she put down her phone, handed back the notebook to the girl behind her, and hurried away.
“Hey, miss…”
–
Backstage.
Quite a few staff mbers were gathered there, along with two people holding caras, clearly paparazzi.
Fu Chi stood tall and distinguished among the crowd, exceptionally conspicuous.
“Chuzheng,” ii called from the outskirts, rushing over when she saw her approach, “That woman is saying your husband molested her, and she’s making a scene.”
ii had arrived later and hadn’t run into Chuzheng, but she knew Chuzheng was also there.
She had co to use the restroom and happened to run into the situation, so she imdiately called her.
In the crowd, a girl with one hand holding up her slipping dress and the other hand covering her face sobbed, looking like she had been abused.
It was near the restrooms and next to a corner, relatively secluded.
Chuzheng sent a text ssage to Wu Fa and Wu Tian.
After putting away her phone, she then stepped into the crowd.
Seeing her, Fu Chi looked slightly upset, lowering his head to explain, “I didn’t do anything. She suddenly blocked , said so nonsensical things, and then started shouting.”
He had co out of the restroom, and the woman was standing right outside.
She blocked him from leaving and even got physical.
To avoid her, Fu Chi had no choice but to back away.
Then the woman suddenly began to scream and tore her dress, just as staff mbers were passing by.
There were no surveillance caras here, and the girl insisted that she had been molested by him.
Seeing the girl disheveled and crying piteously always inclines people to sympathize with her.
“Hmm.” Chuzheng held his hand and looked at the girl, who was crying bitterly, “You’re saying he molested you?”
The girl glanced at Chuzheng and sobbed, “It’s him, I never expected… I never expected he would be that kind of person…”
“Where did he molest you?”
“He…,” the girl was heartbroken and too ashad to say it, “are you even human? He molested , a pervert, and you still want to say it, how can I face anyone after this…”
The girl covered her dress and cried even more sadly, imdiately eliciting so n’s sympathy.
“I never would have guessed he was this kind of person…”
“Such a handso man doing such things.”
“Appearances are deceiving, it’s precisely n like him that the term ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’ describes,” so of the staff murmured quietly.
“If you don’t say where he molested you, how can I stand up for you?” Chuzheng spoke indifferently.
The girl insisted, “He molested !”
Chuzheng: “Do you have evidence?”
“Isn’t this evidence?” The girl pointed at her dress, “Would I joke about my own reputation?”
With that statent, the people around felt it made sense.
A woman’s reputation is vitally important, no matter the era.
Chuzheng glanced at her dispassionately, “The dress could have been torn by you. You say he molested you and that’s it? What evidence do you have to prove that you’re not framing him?”
“I am a girl…”
“Then I might as well say that you seduced him first and when you failed, you turned around and slandered him,” said Chuzheng, a chill rising in her brows, “Without evidence, one can say whatever they want, can’t they?”
The girl looked up at Chuzheng, possibly hit by the truth in her words, and her eyes flickered anxiously.
After locking eyes for just a second, she averted her gaze.
With trembling fingers, she pointed at Chuzheng, “You… what nonsense are you talking about? You’re his wife; of course, you would defend him. I am an innocent girl, how could I do such a thing?”
“He’s handso,” Chuzheng said assertively.
“…”
The surrounding onlookers were sowhat confused.
This was completely different from what they had expected.
“You… you…” the girl pointed at Chuzheng and Fu Chi, tears streaming down as if she was the victim of a grave injustice, “Are you really asking to prove my innocence with death today?”
Chuzheng made a welcoming gesture.
The girl: “…”
It was just an exaggerated expression, she didn’t dare to follow through.
