Now reading: Chapter 670: Rift Above the Sea from Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!, a Action novel by RaundelNFT.

Blackie had spent many years living on the Sea of Death alongside Overlord Caelum, Starfall, and June.

Back then, his Illusionary Qilin Clan had just escaped a spatial rift, scattered and half-destroyed. Blackie was still a child at the ti—reckless, curious, and foolishly brave. He had wandered away from the clan’s new territory, only to nearly die of thirst in the barren wasteland that surrounded the Sea of Death.

It was Overlord Caelum and Starfall who had found him and saved his life.

Later, when Starfall and June left and Overlord Caelum vanished, Blackie returned to his clan. But even there, he was trouble. He played pranks on the elders, teased his kin, and drove the sentinels mad with his mischief. As the clan leader’s younger brother, no one dared punish him harshly.

Still, he never forgot those days in the Sea of Death.

He used to call Overlord Caelum "Master," but the old man had just laughed and said, "You’re too young to be anyone’s disciple." Instead, Overlord gave him the na Rhys and told him to call him "Grandpa." It had stuck ever since. When Blackie transford into human form, he was a round-faced boy wearing a simple cloth apron. Overlord had found it hilarious.

And when June beca pregnant, Blackie had promised her that he would look after Ethan like an older brother. Never did he imagine that one day Ethan would beco his "Boss."

He didn’t care much about titles. But when he learned that Starfall had been gravely injured, guilt and anger took root in his chest. He had stayed behind when he should have gone with them, and now it was too late.

So when these five creatures from Ascension Isle appeared before him, arrogant, loud, and self-righteous—he didn’t hesitate. All that regret and fury ca pouring out.

He had also learned of a place called the Divine Sea Temple. Dragon Child had spoken of its imnse power, but Blackie hadn’t been deterred. Instead, he had quietly sworn to grow stronger—strong enough to wipe it off the map.

Before they ca to Earth, Ethan had described the world’s humans as weak, their Energy Users few and underdeveloped. Blackie had been smug about that, confident that he could dominate wherever he went. But now he saw that Ethan’s understanding of this planet had been limited. The oceans—covering seventy-one percent of Earth—were teeming with powerful beings, both human and beast alike.

And the so-called mutant creatures were nothing to underestimate.

Still, none of that mattered in this mont. Blackie’s rage wasn’t about power levels or strength. It ca from mory—the mory of the sa kind of pompous dude who had once tried to capture him as a mount, calling him a "beast" and mocking his kind. He had never forgotten that humiliation.

Now, facing these five, that mory flared back to life.

"How dare you cause trouble on Ascension Isle!" one of them shouted as Blackie advanced. "Aren’t you afraid your entire lineage will be wiped out? The Island Lord will turn you into puppets and enslave you forever!"

Blackie didn’t even bother replying. He moved in a blur.

Three punches. Two kicks.

The Hedgehog mutant scread as his body burst apart under the final blow.

It was over in two seconds. The cat mutant—the strongest of the five—had died first, his sternum crushed like glass. The others followed, reduced to blood mist under Blackie’s strikes.

Their dying screams echoed through the air before fading into silence.

"Enemy attack! Close the Suru Array!" voices shouted from within the island.

The portal above the sea began to shrink.

Ethan and those capable of flight imdiately dove downward, leaving Victor, Leo, Williams, the Whitmore siblings, the Chase siblings, and the non-combatants like Lyla inside the ch.

"Hmph. You opened it, and now you think you can close it?" Micah scoffed.

He raised his hands. Eight blood-red Runic Parchnts shot out, slicing through the air.

Clap, clap, clap...

The parchnts locked into position in eight directions around the collapsing rift.

"Eight Directions Suppress the Heavens! Mystic Gate—open!"

Micah’s voice rang out as the parchnts flared with crimson light. Lines of glowing red connected them, forming a web that held against the array’s pressure.

Buzz... buzz...

The Suru Array resisted fiercely, but Micah’s runes held, slowing its closure to a crawl.

Then, a calm voice ca from above.

"The two poles transform, the cycle turns... Rise and fall—go!"

Two more parchnts—one black, one white—shot downward, spinning as they rged into the center of the void.

"Burn!"

BOOM!

The parchnts ignited, their flas swirling together before fading into two golden fish, circling one another until they ford a symbol.

Ethan looked up. Standing at the ch’s open hatch, Ryan Chase was forming hand seals, his eyes glowing faintly.

Micah looked up and grinned, flashing him a thumbs-up.

With Ryan’s Runes stabilizing the channel, the portal stopped shrinking. The rift between the sea and Ascension Isle was now locked open.

Ethan didn’t rush in. Watching Ryan channel his energy, he realized sothing: his people weren’t just passengers or tagalongs. Each of them had their own strength, their own role to play. Leaving them on standby would only dull their spirit.

"Shatterstar," Ethan said quietly, "release all human-sized combat chs."

A faint smile crossed his face. If their individual strength wasn’t enough, then they’d move as one—a steel army. The chs weren’t just weapons; they were a symbol of unity.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Panels opened along Shatterstar’s massive fra, and eight combat chs erged from the hangar in its leg. There should have been nine, but one had been destroyed by the Dragon of Consumption. The thought tugged briefly at Ethan’s heart, but he pushed it aside.

The eight remaining chs flew into formation, hovering before Shatterstar’s chest like armored sentinels.

Victor and the others could only stare.

Ethan raised his voice, laughing. "Well? What are you waiting for? Don’t you want to co down and play?"

The words lit a spark among the group.

"Holy hell, this is aweso!"

Before anyone could respond, a broad-shouldered figure launched himself out of the ch. Markham, unmistakable in both voice and size, dove toward one of the machines and landed squarely on it.

Ethan pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Seriously, Colt," Leo called, laughing, "are you trying to wear the ch or ride it?"

"I don’t care! This one’s mine!" Markham bellowed, thumping the ch’s chest like a war drum.

The machine he’d chosen bore two massive swords on its back, reminiscent of a Berserker from Ethereal. Each of the chs was equipped with different weapons and combat systems, their cores humming with restrained power.
