Seeing the na of Leo’s quest, Ethan knew it had to be a hidden class. But that didn’t guarantee it would be powerful. In his past life, he’d seen players unlock hidden specializations only to beco utterly useless.

"What’s the call, boss? Do I go for it or not?" Leo asked, waiting for Ethan to make the decision.

Ethan hesitated. Ethereal was just like the real world; so many things were beyond his control. He’d tried his hardest to steer this tiline along the path of his mories, but events kept veering off the rails he was trying to lay down.

"How much of the quest have you completed?" Ethan asked.

"Just the final step. I have to go to so place called the Lost Isle and talk to soone. That’s it, mission accomplished," Leo replied.

So, Leo had already finished the preliminary stages and was hesitating at the finish line. Ethan ntally reviewed their team composition. If this ’Brewmaster’ wasn’t a tank specialization, then he himself would have to step into the tanking role—a prospect he wasn’t thrilled about.

While he frequently used his Bear Form in combat, he didn’t use it to absorb damage for the group. His Bear Form was a damage-dealing, line-breaking powerhouse. He was also accustod to fluidly switching between all four of his forms and hated the idea of being stuck in just one. Just look at Ryan and Leeroy; they were permanently locked into pure Fla Soulbinder and Weapon Master specs, respectively.

"Alright then," Ethan said, a grin spreading across his face after a mont’s thought. "Go for it. Go big or go ho."

The truth was, Leo’s personality was too impulsive and unpredictable. The Shield Tank class, and all its hidden variants, required a steady, patient deanor. Honestly, Ethan thought Victor (Slashblade) was the most naturally suited for it, but the guy had gone and chosen to be a Priest... which, to be fair, also suited him perfectly.

"Stop ’uh-ing’," Ethan chided. "We’re heading back to town to prep. Use this ti to go finish your quest."

While their group had been chatting, Leafshade’s group had already finished looting the battlefield, distributed the spoils, tallied the contribution points, and were now preparing to head back.

"Okay... but what about all my gear?" Leo asked, another thought striking him. "This ’Brewmaster’ thing sounds like it would use a different armour!"

"Keep your best gear equipped. The system will automatically convert it for you during the class change," Ethan explained, drawing on his past-life experience.

"Sweet!" Leo replied. He reached into his pouch and pulled out a small, smooth stone.

Ethan glanced at it. It looked similar to a standard Hearthstone, but it wasn’t. It had to be a special quest item for traveling to this ’Lost Isle.’ Sure enough, Leo rubbed the stone, it glowed, and his body vanished.

So, where he’s going is similar to when I was pulled into another world, Ethan realized. It forces an offline status.

A chorus of "Copy that" and "On it" echoed back as the party began moving towards the nearest settlent with a transport spire. The 24-hour cooldown on their Hearthstones ant they couldn’t just teleport at will.

Lyla turned to leave with the others, but Ethan reached out and caught her hand.

"Ethan...?" she started, then saw the mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Oh, you..." she murmured, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.

"Heh. A whole hour... should be plenty of ti," he said with a grin, not giving her a chance to protest. In one smooth motion, he scooped her up into his arms. At the sa instant, his form shimred and he shifted into a massive Eagle. Lyla let out a short, surprised yelp as he surged into the air, catching her perfectly in his talons.

He fixed his bearing and—WHOOSH!

He shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow. The speed was insane, probably pushing right up against—or even past—the ga’s intended velocity limit. In the blink of an eye, they were nothing more than a speck on the horizon.

"Holy crap, look at the boss go!" atball exclaid, staring after them.

"Where is big bro going that way for?" asked Heaven’s Dawn, her voice full of innocent confusion.

"I don’t know. Is there a closer town with a transport system in that direction?" Evelyn mused, already pulling up her map.

Victor and Williams, however, just exchanged a knowing look. They were both married n, and both had, ahem, explored the ga’s more intimate settings with their own wives. They’d known what was up the mont Ethan and Lyla had reappeared together earlier. It wasn’t just the subtle, post-coital glow that seasoned players could recognize. They wisely kept their mouths shut. In a group full of singles and one teenage girl, so things were better left unsaid.

They simply coughed into their fists, summoned their mounts, and joined the others. Now that the fight was over, the whole team could ride at full speed, racing back the way they had co.
