Mira stumbled back slightly but quickly regained her footing, and her hands moved as she cast a fire spell. Flas spread across the ground in front of them, forming a burning barrier that distorted the air and blocked the archers’ sight.
Reigns stood up, tightening his grip around the scythe. His eyes turned cold.
From the shadows of the forest, figures began to appear.
The sa group of archers.
They stepped out one by one with their bows already drawn.
What Reigns hated was their expressions filled with confidence as they surrounded the clearing from a distance. In the next mont, a hail of arrows rained down on them.
Reigns’ eyes narrowed as the arrows closed in, but just as they were a few inches away from him, he activated Phantom Steps.
The incoming arrows seed to slow down in his vision.
SWISHH!
His figure blurred, and in the next instant, the arrows struck nothing but the empty ground where he had been standing.
anwhile, Arvin waved his sword forward and managed to intercept so of the arrows, deflecting them mid-air. Still, one arrow slipped through and struck his shoulder blade, making him grimace in pain as his body tensed.
Kellar reacted instantly. He extended his shield and covered Ren, blocking several arrows. However, one arrow slid past the edge of the shield and struck Lira, who could not dodge in ti.
"Noooooooooo!" Ren shouted in horroras Lira’s head exploded from the impact, and her body fell to the ground like a lifeless doll.
One of the archers smirked faintly as he looked at the group.
"Told you," he said calmly. "Easy pickings."
The atmosphere changed instantly.
"BASTARDDD!" Arvin shouted as he rushed forward, losing his composure. He ignored the pain in his shoulder as another hail of arrows struck him.
"Why are you attacking us?"he roared, rushing forward.
"Because of lifespan you idiot..Unlike beast we can kill you multiple tis and real your life,ahahah"saying that the archers fired.
Arvin armor took most of the impact, but the force still pushed him back slightly. One arrow ca dangerously close to his head, but a mass of energy suddenly blasted it away.
That was when Reigns’ voice echoed.
"It’s not ti to lose composure. Kellar cover up." Saying this, Reigns took a step forward.
"He is right..These are just a group of bloodied scavengers...Everyone hide behind Kellar,"Mira shouted and casted a fla attack to burn the grass and create smoke while rushing to take cover behind Kellar.
His gaze sharpened as he used Inspect.
Swish.
Four Level 5 and one Level 6 who looked a bit different.
Since he hadn’t used all his summons,they thought their team would be easy picking once they killed Kellar but Reigns was gonna prove them wrong.
In the next mont, he focused inward and adjusted his stats.
Strength: 11»12
Ability: 16»18
Stamina: 15
Perception: 7»9
Mana: 8
He activated Berserker.
His blood started churning violently, as if sothing inside him had ignited. His mind felt like it was set ablaze by a deafening rage, and a huge amount of strength burst through his body.
In the next mont, he activated Phantom Steps again as the cooldown faded. He took a small step, but with the combined effect of Berserker and Phantom Steps, his body exploded forward with trendous force.
His body shot out like a rocket, leaving behind a faint afterimage.
One archer was drawing his bow and aiming at Reigns, but to his horror, one mont Reigns was ters away, and the next mont he appeared directly in front of him.
"WHA- Slash!"
[You have killed Lv5 human.]
[You have gained 500 days tradable lifespan]
He did not even get to finish his sentence before the scythe slashed through, and his head flew into the air.
Blood splattered across Reigns’ face, but he did not stop. He moved past the falling body and imdiately slashed another archer, tearing his head apart, and then turned toward the third one without even glancing at the notifications.
Just as he moved in for the next strike, a hidden blade shot out from the side, forcing him to pause and react.
CLANG!
He deflected the blade with his scythe, and the force sent it spinning away.
The hidden blade flew back through the air, but before it could travel far, a hand suddenly erged from the shadows and caught it mid-flight. With a quick twirl, the figure appeared right in behind Reigns leaving behind a blur.
His perception picked up a faint sense of danger, and it was enough.
He turned around instantly and raised his scythe to defend.
CLANG!
A powerful strike ca from behind. The force was strong enough to numb his hands and push him slightly off balance.
The figure flipped back lightly, landing at a short distance.
Reigns’ eyes sharpened as he looked at the shadowy figure.
"An assassin!"
And to make it worse, it was Level 6.
Reigns’ senses were screaming alert. A cold chill ran down his spine as he realized the gap between them. His Phantom Steps had already gone into cooldown, and that made the situation even worse. He quickly glanced at the remaining two archers and shouted,
"Take care of the archer."
He had not even finished his sentence when Mira was already moving. Her hands rose, and glowing circles ford in front of her as she prepared her spells without hesitation.
anwhile, Reigns stepped forward and faced the assassin.
The battlefield split naturally.
Mira and Ren focused on dragging down the two Level 5 archers. Ren fired arrows rapidly, forcing them to stay on the defensive, while Mira cast spells that exploded around them and limited their movent. Kellar stood in front, his shield raised high, blocking incoming attacks and creating space for them.
Their goal was clear. They had to hold the archers back and let Reigns fight freely.
On the other side, Reigns and the assassin faced each other.
The assassin moved first.
In the next instant, his body blurred and vanished into the shadows.
Reigns’ eyes widened slightly as his perception tried to track him, but the movent was too fast and too irregular.
A faint sound ca from behind.
CLANG!
Reigns turned just in ti and raised his scythe to block. The hidden blade clashed against it, and sparks flew from the impact. The force pushed him back a step.
The assassin disappeared again.
He moved through the shadows like a ghost, appearing and disappearing from different angles. One mont he was on the left, and the next mont he was behind.
This created a complete ss for Reigns.
Compared to him, Reigns was still an amateur. His movents were strong, but they lacked experience against soone like this. He focused on defending as much as possible, because he did not know if the blade was poisonous or not.
Another strike ca swiftly from the shadows.
