Filthy. Disgusting.
I was disgusted at being completely betrayed, disgusted at the attacks coming at , and disgusted at my subordinates dying to those attacks.
"Ssshavee uuss, Thundderr Lorrrrd!"
"Just shut the hell up!!"
Even when he stayed quiet he was useless, but now he kept yapping in my ear making it impossible to think straight. I was already struggling to death just maintaining the barrier by drawing up my mana, but my subordinates and adjutant were all equally useless.
Fsssssh.
The power of the acidic breath Shax had been spitting out—though out of consideration for our past connection, I couldn’t bring myself to call it what it really was—finally died down. Thunder Lord silently cheered as acidic liquid floated around the barrier.
"That’s it! You ran out of mana!"
Since I’d seen her recovering mana with mana potions here and there, she’d eventually hit her limit if I just held out. Thunder Lord’s prediction was right on the money, and Shax started panting with tears welling up in her eyes.
"Now’s my chance, screee!!"
Thunder Lord raised his wings high into the sky. At the sa ti, massive electrical charges started gathering until his entire body began glowing blue.
"I’ll neutralize this filthy water---!!"
Thunder Lord swung his wings downward.
Crackle-zzzt!!
Each wing started emitting electricity with different properties. At the sa ti, the water around Thunder Lord started turning to steam.
Fsssss.
Not steam—it was decomposing. There were plenty of particles for the current to flow through—whatever liquid soone had been spraying—and the demonic energy-infused mana rapidly spread throughout the entire lake.
Sizzle.
The demonic energy in the current clashed with the divine power and neutralized it. The electricity couldn’t completely neutralize the acidic gastric fluid, but divine power was more lethal to the cockatrices than the gastric fluid.
"Co down! Counterattack!"
Thunder Lord charged forward with rough breathing. But not a single cockatrice followed.
"What are you all doing!"
"B-but!"
"The water feels gross to go in—"
"You idiots!"
Thunder Lord whipped his head around and caught a cockatrice in his beak. The cockatrice flailed its wings and legs in surprise, but Thunder Lord turned his head back forward and released his beak.
"Screeee!!"
The cockatrice spun several tis through the air before slamming into the shore. It rolled with a massive splash, and all that water splashed over Shax and Galahad.
"..."
Were they shocked by the unexpected ambush, or had they never imagined they’d get drenched in the lake water?
Shax and Galahad couldn’t even move. The two of them, looking like drowned rats, stared at each other with twisted expressions.
"Dammit."
"Tch."
Since they both knew what they’d done to the lake, neither could curse the other. Instead, their anger turned toward an innocent victim.
"Squawk?!"
The cockatrice that had just been rolling on the ground and trying to get up had its neck severed and heart pierced. Galahad’s iron sword beheaded the cockatrice in one stroke, and the compressed water bullet Shax flicked with her finger beca a projectile that punched through the cockatrice’s heart.
"I didn’t expect them to attack by throwing subordinates like that."
"He’s not the type to care about his underlings. None of the executives in this dungeon are the kind who look out for their subordinates."
Water droplets started floating in the air behind Shax one by one. Galahad also prepared for battle by infusing divine power into his sword.
"Should we have just fought like this from the start?"
"All that effort dodging effort. ...Listen, Miss Shax. I don’t know if you’ll turn out to be wife material, but let’s make one thing clear."
Galahad hardened his expression and stared at Thunder Lord.
"We slaughtered the enemies by swinging our swords and firing water bullets. Right?"
"...Weren’t we just about to start fighting?"
They both smirked at each other at the sa ti. And they decided to pour out their anger at this unpleasant and disgusting situation on soone else.
"I’ll snipe, you guard the front."
"Of course. ...Wait, doesn’t that an I’ll get soaked again in front—"
Splash----!!
Another cockatrice ca flying. Galahad kicked it away with a roundhouse.
"...."
Galahad stood in that sa position for a long mont, staring at the water stains on his dress pants.
Anyway.
The underground raid by Galahad and Shax began.
***
No matter how much sli you spray from the air, it doesn’t necessarily lead to kills.
Sure, a human would die if you threw a brick at them from a rooftop, but the visibly tough 3-star gargoyles and giant ravens tanked the sli gatling with their bodies.
"Damn tough hides!"
The sli gatling wasn’t very effective. Not that I could swing around Sli Dragon. I kept firing sli at the nearest gargoyle.
Rat-tat-tat-tat!!
Before, I’d failed at controlling the amount and fired sli until my body shriveled up. But now, learning from that mistake, I sprayed just enough sli to take so damage.
It couldn’t seriously wound the enemies, but the sli gatling was achieving great results for my strategy.
"Woooo! You won’t get through!"
Buying ti. I just had to stop the monsters from getting to the upper floor where the main battle was happening. I glanced back to see Lune and Gremory overwhelming the redhead.
Rapid-firing wind arrows against a raven easily over 4 ters tall. And when targeting vital points, switching to silver arrows infused with divine power for sniping.
Flas scattered and wind flew like blades. Sotis she fired light bombardnts by infusing her magic with divine power.
Neither Lune nor Gremory’s combat style had changed much. They were just using mana with a bit of divine power added for lethal attacks.
’Might just be a buff period for them, but it’s lethal to monsters.’
The redhead couldn’t even use his full strength and was stuck on defense. Especially when dodging attacks with divine power, he made the fatal mistake of just taking other normal attacks head-on.
"Heh, they’re fighting well."
Caaaaw!!
Corpse Hawk roared from repeated damage. It seed to be preparing so big attack. I was worried but didn’t have ti to pay attention there.
"Ugh, damn...."
The excruciating pain from Trust’s Leap was still stabbing through my whole body. I was enduring it trusting in an orc’s healing ability, but that only worked when staying still.
Caaaaw!!
The giant ravens finally managed to climb right up to the stairs by breaking through the sli barrage. The giant raven in front that had taken the most sli was furious and tried to stab with its beak.
Too late to dodge. Had to fight back. But the giant raven’s steel-like beak would tear through my skin and peck out my heart the mont it touched .
"That’s why I need to use you as a weapon!"
I stretched both arms straight forward. The Sli Dragons hastily pulled back, and I spread both hands preparing to catch the beak.
Screech!!
The giant raven mocked and jumped up. Its body spun around and the beak started rotating.
"Oh, fuck."
Didn’t expect that. I had no choice but to put my hands toward the drill-like spinning beak.
Screech!!
"Grrgh!"
Felt like my palms were being shredded. No, they actually were being shredded. The beak’s surface was rough like dirt, scraping and trying to keep spinning in my palms.
"Uooo!!"
But I had to endure. Had to hold this place until Lune and Gremory could take down Corpse Hawk together. My palms were soaked in blood, but I barely managed to grab the giant raven’s beak.
"Heh, you think I’m dumb for grabbing your beak?"
Birdbrain probably wouldn’t understand, but I didn’t let go of the giant raven’s beak. The giant raven suddenly spread its wings and tried to pull back, but Li popping out from below was faster.
Crunch!
Li spread her body wide and swallowed the giant raven’s beak. Li pushed her body toward my hands, the beak, and the head, and started eating the giant raven from the head down.
Crunch, crunch!
Even if lower level than Lune, Li had already broken past level 50. Maybe not against a moving enemy, but she had no problem eating one whose beak was caught like this.
"That’s enough."
Ptooey.
Li separated from the body of the giant raven she’d been eating. The giant raven with half its head eaten fell limply, tumbling down the stairs.
Crash, crash!!
The falling giant raven crashed into the group of gargoyles. The quick ones dodged fast, but those rushing up from below got crushed under the giant raven and fell.
"Ugh. This sucks, really. Are these things even 4-star?"
My palms were numb like they’d been fried by electricity. Thanks to Blood Flow Acceleration, blood was flowing out even more and I felt dizzy. Sure, if I left it alone for about 10 minutes the surface would heal, but the ravens weren’t going to give those 10 minutes.
"Looks like they got more pissed after one got eaten, Li."
Caaaaaaaw!!
The giant ravens, now down to about 10, scread at us like they were cursing. Li wiggled her body and clung to , and I grabbed Li’s torso tight.
"...Li, you don’t have to do it with the boobs."
Gurgle.
"Fine. I appreciate it though."
I grabbed Li’s huge breasts extending from my body. On Li’s head was the ’beak’ of the giant raven she’d eaten.
A beak hard enough to dig through dirt walls. Since it was a beak that only crumpled easily when I used full strength, it was the perfect weapon to counter the enemy’s beaks.
Squawk!
"A gargoyle next?!"
Li stuck right to the underside of the beak. Using sli as glue to fix her body in place, I grabbed Li’s breasts and lifted high.
"Be quiet!"
Smash!!
I swung Li down hard. The steel beak shattered the gargoyle’s head in one hit, and the gargoyle beca a lump of stone tumbling down the stairs.
Screech!!
This ti a gargoyle got hit by the stone and had its wing broken. Not complete idiots since they dodged—there was so learning effect.
"But I can still just keep holding out."
My palms were numb but holding Li’s huge tits didn’t sting. It did sting, but I couldn’t let go of the soft breast sensation.
"Hey! Next one, co at !"
The giant ravens started hesitating one by one. With Corpse Hawk who could give orders tied up by Lune and Gremory, they were scared on instinct.
’This works in my favor.’
Drag out the ti and I win. A bit tired, but if I just held out my executives would bring victory.
’Having a formation with only divine power users makes it a bit tough.’
Made think about forming a separate unit specifically using divine power, whether Orc Paladins or Green Elves. But that power was currently playing a huge role in taking down Halphas’s Legion, so I could refine the problems I experienced this ti through trial and error.
"Heh, relaxed enough to have stray thoughts. Nice."
Gurgle.
"Right. The longer it goes, the more we win."
Though it was also true that the longer it went, the more the enemy revived monsters through magic stones, but those intervals were getting longer.
Screech!!
Deciding they couldn’t give us more ti, one giant raven flew at . I spread both arms wide, and Li opened her beak wide to match. Keeping her body in place.
"Li, don’t do anything stupid! Just open up the space!!"
Li hesitated then opened up the space in the middle. The giant raven stabbed precisely into the empty space Li created with its beak, and this ti I clenched my fist and caught the beak with my forearm.
Screech!!
"Grrgh!!!"
The skin on my entire forearm was being scraped off. My arm twisted 90 degrees, leaving spiral-shaped lacerations, blood spattering everywhere, but the beak only reached up to my solar plexus.
Gulp!
Li took revenge for by swallowing the eagle’s head again. That made two beaks secured.
Graaah!!
I glanced back to see Corpse Hawk dying. Lune and Gremory had minor wounds, but ultimately succeeded in taking down Corpse Hawk.
"Then I should also start wrapping up—"
Suddenly, I felt sothing strange from below. The instant I instinctively thought ’oh fuck’ and pulled my foot back slightly.
Screech---!!
Another steel beak pierced through the stairs right at my feet, spinning sharply and aiming at .
At my balls.
