Chapter 802: Chapter 33: Battle to Defend the Umbrella Line (Part 3)
Inside the surveillance room, ssages on the central control screen flashed quickly.
After Gu Castle implented a local network blockade, Deep Sea forcefully took over the outer edge dispatch tasks of the Umbrella Defense Line.
Every ti a Heavenly Eye was destroyed, a replacent image imdiately appeared.
The “protagonist” of the image remained the hocoming team madly running for their lives, on the verge of being swallowed by the Storm at any mont.
A team mber muttered with a complex expression, “This is the first ti sothing like this has happened… Deep Sea seems to have gone mad…”
All the mbers in the surveillance room no longer needed to do any work.
Deep Sea took over all data here.
Zou Hai had never seen such a scene either.
North Continent Fortress relied heavily on Deep Sea, but due to the long front line and limited computing power, the assistance Deep Sea could provide each fortress wasn’t actually that substantial…
Was it specially authorized by the upper echelons?
Or?
No matter how you think about it, it doesn’t make much sense, because the fortress is currently in an isolated state of network prohibition to prevent the spread of Spiritual Poison, Deep Sea shouldn’t interfere with local network task commands.
“Suggestion: Open the ‘Umbrella Defense Line’.”
Suddenly, such a ssage popped up on the central control screen.
Zou Hai was taken aback.
In so many years, it was the first ti he’d seen Deep Sea make such a decision… First, help the fortress Old World lock onto the hocoming exploration team outside, estimated to be at least thirty kiloters away, likely the limit of the Heavenly Eye’s detection range.
If not for Deep Sea’s reminder, this ssage would most likely have been missed.
As for the suggestion to open the Umbrella Defense Line passage, in large-scale missions, Deep Sea only ever had the right to suggest, not to make decisions. This is the last privilege reserved for humanity by the Federation Governnt; no matter the circumstances, only humans can make the final decision.
However, according to Zou Hai’s understanding of Deep Sea’s rules, after detecting this unprecedented storm, Deep Sea should have suggested imdiately closing the giant wall and defense line passage.
Opening the defense line for twelve people might likely lead to the premature invasion of the Source Essence Tide!
This does not conform to Deep Sea’s basic laws!
Zou Hai’s deep thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the communicator.
It was from the study.
Lin Lin’s voice sounded sowhat tired, “The image of the Umbrella Defense Line… has been sent to by Deep Sea, open the passage and bring these people in.”
Yet, the tone of this sentence was very firm.
Deep Sea is really off the charts, is it aware it can’t be the decision-maker?
Such a thought suddenly arose in Zou Hai’s mind; he dared not think further. He quickly composed himself and seriously responded to the communicator, “Yes, Quasi-General!”
…
…
Silver-white realms frantically fled before the Storm.
Source energy burning efficiency at 200%, if not for the effect of the Truth Ruler, these Source Armors would have turned into blazing shooting stars, incinerating into pitch-black charcoal after blooming in a mont of brilliance.
Gu Shen’s expression was vaguely pale.
Carrying eleven people was indeed sowhat strenuous.
Most importantly… a 200% burning efficiency could barely outrun the Storm, yet could not shake it off.
If they landed imdiately before or after the “Storm.”
The Umbrella Defense Line could barely open the passage.
In repeated connections with Deep Sea, Gu Shen seed to witness a miracle… The gigantic umbrella afar erupted into deep trembling roars, those “floating boards” undergoing “slow” rotation.
“The passage… is open?”
Gu Shen knew this was definitely not sheer luck; it was largely due to Chu Ling’s guidance on the Gu Castle Fortress. Without connection, only she could quickly and accurately capture his visage.
Without any ssage prompt, achieving this was only possible in one way—
Constantly refreshing the Heavenly Eye to capture every fra of the Umbrella Defense Line.
He took a deep breath.
Gu Shen gritted his teeth.
In the final stretch, the Storm seed to beco more ferocious, and the slight distance the team had managed to open was caught up again… He concentrated all his will, trying to temper his spirit with the “breathing technique,” hoping to enhance the power of the Truth Ruler at the final desperate mont!
Only relying on the Spring Breathing, if it’s not enough…
Then he’ll add the second volu of breathing technique!
Gu Shen attempted to enter an extrely focused “spectator mindset,” at this mont his spirit was more concentrated than ever, converging into the Pure Land, at this mont the “Susian Wood” was radiant, with billions of branches swaying as per the master’s will, casting brilliant light. The clouds that once shrouded the spring rain curtain gradually beca hot, with lightning flickering amidst them.
Gu Shen urgently desired to push his spiritual power “a step further”!
He began to comprehend the “Sumr Breathing” on the spot… However, it was too far-fetched, where could one easily comprehend a volu of breathing technique, mindset, opportunity, and ti accumulation were far from enough.
Yet, the comprehension at present yielded unexpected results.
Gu Shen suddenly felt a sense of bewildernt.
Ti seed to slow down.
He didn’t know that in the real world, the silver-white glow of the Truth Ruler slowly swept out a line, entwining with the “Chi Huo” between his eyebrows, and eventually rging together, forming a strand of fla as pale as snow.
That strand of fla slowly burned, neither hurried nor delayed.
However, that one strand of snowy white was not pure.
In the Realm of Truth, a trace of black spreads.
This wisp of fla is the sa.
Gu Shen imrsed himself in the Spiritual World… He found his Pure Land quieter than ever before, even the figure of “Tie Wu” had disappeared.
Is this really my Pure Land?
Gu Shen looked around and discovered that many places in this world were blurry, with light and shadow intersecting, mottled and falling, and the entire Heavenly Curtain seed to have been shattered by sothing, casting large patches of dazzling light, while most places were shrouded in shadows.
Areas similar to the “Pure Land” were all covered in radiance.
Looking more closely, Gu Shen discovered that these shadows seed to follow a pattern.
The iconic holy objects in his Pure Land, like the towering “Suxuan Tree,” and so areas originally nurtured with Source Essence Dew, were growing in the shadows, having form but only casting large shadows.
These things seed to grow in a virtual illusion.
[“Hey…”]
Just as Gu Shen turned around, a hoarse voice sounded behind him.
He looked back.
Behind him, beneath the boundless shadow cast by the towering Suxuan Tree, there sat an imnsely tall, pitch-black throne deep within the shadow.
The voice had just co from within the shadow.
Gu Shen stood firm, frowning as he looked toward the darkness. This should be “his” Spiritual World, so when did a second person appear, and why was he unaware of it?
He strained to look through the darkness.
He couldn’t see anything.
He could only see the towering outline of the throne… Remarkably, the throne didn’t bring any tangible pressure to Gu Shen, instead, he felt an urge to go up and sit on it.
This was terrifying.
Gu Shen imdiately suppressed this thought, then extended two fingers, placing them on his brow, attempting to summon his “Chi Huo.”
In his Spiritual World, the Battle Golden Hoop wouldn’t constrain the appearance of Chi Huo.
However, this ti…
The invocation of Chi Huo failed.
Two fingers placed above, and nothing happened.
He stood in vast patches of mottled light, gazing at the “Dark Throne” not far across, and after a brief silence, Gu Shen realized sothing.
This wasn’t his “Spiritual World.”
It was only a world very similar to the “Pure Land.”
And the reason these shadows existed was that there was only one “Pure Land,” this world could only be similar but not identical, and those things that couldn’t be replicated could only be replaced by shadows.
Realizing this, Gu Shen roughly guessed where this place was.
And who that figure sitting on the throne might be.
Out of politeness, he was the first to break the silence between them.
“Who are you…?”
The hoarse voice in the darkness chuckled.
The master of the throne spoke softly, “I am the owner of this Ruler.”
Gu Shen did not show a surprised expression.
He stood in the light, staring calmly and indifferently at the throne. The mont Chi Huo failed, Gu Shen guessed that this was the distorted Spiritual World under the influence of the “Truth Ruler.”
The only person with a spiritual domain similar to his Pure Land was the previous Netherworld King.
The presence of such a distorted spiritual domain is not difficult to guess… The Netherworld King left a trace of Netherworld Fire in the mind of the “golden spike flowers.”
So in this Ruler, there is probably a trace too.
The short-lived mutation of the ruler that happened during the “Divine War” between the Dadu District and the Wine God Throne was very likely spurred by the “Netherworld Fire.”
And now, the power of Netherworld Fire is erging again.
Gu Shen was pulled into an independent spiritual world.
“The answer to this question… you’ve already guessed.”
The person in the darkness continued, “Besides, in the current situation, who I am is not important… What matters is, you are all about to die.”
In the shattered Spirit Space.
Images of the real world were projected outward.
Ti seed to slow down.
Yet, it was faintly visible that the silver-white Realm of Truth had already begun to distort, and the “Storm” was catching up to this team… and was about to roll over them from above the Realm of Truth.
“A storm of this scale, I’m afraid only the ‘Divine Throne’ can survive.”
The man on the throne shifted to a lazy posture, speaking leisurely, his voice carrying a hint of regret, “With your current strength, the probability of survival is zero.”
Gu Shen gazed at him, “So?”
“So…”
A long pause.
Gu Shen felt the gaze from the darkness.
The master of the throne smiled and asked gently, “My successor, would you like to make a deal? I can help you survive.”
