The Devil was montarily stunned.
Even the fingers holding the wine glass were slightly stiff.
Fortunately, under the shroud of darkness, no one could clearly see its expression... Or perhaps without this shadowy cloak, it was just a faceless existence of utter darkness, never possessing any sort of facial expression.
"I want you to answer a question for ."
"In return, I offer that for the next ten days, I won’t use Black Silver to seal the Ruler."
Gu Shen stated the general terms of the transaction.
This was indeed a small deal.
But it was fair.
One question in exchange for the "freedom" of the Ruler.
Gu Shen knew that the Black Silver seal was a form of "tornt" for the Devil—it couldn’t learn of what was happening outside the Ruler, nor could it glimpse even the slightest information from the outside world... So offering "unsealnt" as compensation was the biggest price Gu Shen could accept in this transaction.
Being "peered at" by the Devil.
If unaware, it wouldn’t matter.
But now that Gu Shen already knew of the dark existence within the Ruler, he felt chills running deep inside for every second that it wasn’t sealed with Black Silver.
"Gu... Shen..."
The Devil struggled to control its voice, trying not to let anger slip in, but its slender fingers had already begun to tremble subtly.
After waiting so long.
It felt like a "clown"!
Sitting on the Throne, yet at the rcy of Gu Shen... And the reality was actually more cruel than just being "at the rcy," due to the relationship between it and Gu Shen being more complex than those words suggest.
Even if it wished to take a look at the external world, it required Gu Shen’s assent.
"Don’t you realize yet?"
"A deal with is destined to be a long process; fulfilling each transaction doesn’t an you are helping , but that I am bestowing a favor upon you."
Gu Shen calmly looked at the figure on the Throne and slowly said, "This is not the [Old World], I indeed have no ans to threaten you... However, I can assure you, if you refuse this deal, I will leave imdiately and seal the Ruler with Black Silver."
"Do you know... what state you are in?" The Devil’s voice was hoarse. "You are battling the Blessed Son of Light City who surpasses you by an entire major realm! Without my help, you can’t possibly defeat him!"
"Yes, you are absolutely right."
Gu Shen chuckled and said, "Unfortunately, I have other ways to resolve this battle... I don’t need your deal to aid ."
"Other ways?!"
The Devil stood up from the Throne once more.
With a cold laugh, it said, "Do you think I don’t understand you... Your Chi Huo, iron sword, Pure Land, ring, veil—even if you add that fragnt of a ’Ti Stop Needle,’ what can these thods do against the Blessed Son of Light City, who is an entire major realm ahead?!"
The Devil uttered these words.
Gu Shen’s expression seed unchanged, but in fact, his heart suddenly darkened... Every card in his hand, down to the seemingly insignificant "Ti Stop Pointer" he acquired from Cui Zhongcheng, was etched in the Devil’s mind!
How could he confidently transact with such a sinister knowledge of his secrets?!
"All you have to do is tell —accept or refuse." Gu Shen’s tone grew cold: "I don’t have much patience, you now have only three seconds to consider."
The mont the words landed, he began the countdown.
"Three, two..."
By now, the ti remaining in the outside world was also dwindling.
Gu Shen had braced himself for the possibility of the "transaction collapsing," needing to leave enough response ti for his real-world self.
"I agree with you!"
Despite its anger, the Devil agreed with astonishing speed!
Three seconds was really too short.
Gu Shen didn’t give the Devil extra ti; it could only choose yes or no without being able to ask more questions.
The Black Shadow on the Throne nearly shouted the words in rage; in its fury, the glass in its palm instantly shattered, proving that everything in this Spirit Space was but an illusory delusion.
The goblet filled with blood shattered into countless luminous fragnts, scattering into the void’s fierce winds.
Along with the shattering of the goblet.
Was also the Devil’s sigh.
In the piercing wind, it slowly sat back on the Throne, let out a weary sigh, and asked.
"Speak then, what do you want to ask?"
...
...
The real world.
The gusts of the snow mountain howled.
The incandescent net of light contracted to a tight twenty-ter radius!
At this mont, Gu Shen finally opened his eyes.
His transaction with the Devil was complete.
This was not a significant transaction.
The silver glow emitted by the Truth Ruler had not turned black... which ant that until the end, the Devil failed to borrow its power.
["The question you asked was indeed tricky. But even knowing this, what use is it? Since you already have , why be so apprehensive? The transaction can still be made in ti, and I can help you end this Blessed Son!"]
The Devil’s whispering voice echoed within the Heart Lake.
Co on, co on!
Make a deal!
It was still trying to persuade Gu Shen to consider participating in a more significant transaction.
But Gu Shen remained steadfast like a rock.
He snorted coldly, unmoved by the temptation the Devil offered, resolutely refusing to engage in large dealings.
Gu Shen gathered his Spirit, responding one last ti to the caged bird within the Ruler: "I won’t be trading unless you give it out for free. Consider it, let take a freebie once more, but let warn you beforehand, if anything unfortunate happens to , don’t expect to have it easy either... Light City will definitely be interested in any relics left behind by the Netherworld King."
