The vengeful Holy Judges are trapped and confined within the abandoned palace of the Netherworld King.

They are like the "water ghosts" that elders often use to scare children, needing to find a substitute to gain the so-called release... But unfortunately, no living person has set foot in this hall for twenty years.

Resigning to their downfall, yet still unable to find release.

This is the true ultimate tornt!

As long as there is a trace of spirit touching or a slight strange sound... these cursed Holy Judges will "open their eyes" along with the disturbance, projecting their painful mories from life and the light in their pupils onto the substitute.

In the deep main hall.

Gu Shen moved forward, feeling his way along the wall.

As he expected, the end of this hall was where the [door] was located, and the material of these stone walls was not much different from that of the previous maze... and they were covered with ancient scripts!

ng Xiao must be behind a certain [door].

"The prior warning from the pendant must have sensed the resentnt of the Holy Judges."

Gu Shen squinted his eyes and thought silently in his heart: "It seems the places where the Netherworld King buried the Holy Judges are not limited to just one."

He had just taken a rough look; there were about seventy to eighty Holy Judges wandering in this main hall?

And in mory, the army that attacked the Netherworld Palace had at least several hundred Holy Judges!

The Holy Judges of Light City suffered heavy losses back then.

Those dragged into the Nether River must have died utterly... but the others not caught in the Divine Domain were likely saved by the Light God’s Seat, which ans the Holy Judges buried at the bottom of the Nether River number at least in the hundreds.

This hall is the most important burial ground!

Though there is no map, the main structure of these Nether River subterranean ruins is not hard to guess, most likely with the "Netherworld Palace" at the central core, using [doors] as connection points, with independent spaces arranged by the Netherworld King scattered at each branch.

The remaining Holy Judges should have been casually tossed behind different [doors] by the "Netherworld King" of that year.

"Let’s try here."

Gu Shen knocked and tapped, finally using his intuition to choose a direction.

He held a cross pendant and signaled with his eyes for Mu Wanqiu to take action.

"Clang!"

The next mont, sparks splattered!

The Judge raised his knife, the stone wall shattered, ancient scripts fluttered, and countless black ominous auras swirled in the void!

Gu Shen kept a close eye on the stone wall, sensing the ntal fluctuations transmitted by the pendant.

Then he shook his head.

"Ora ora ora!"

Perhaps because of that strand of fla he took, the Judge was working extrely hard, constantly watching Gu Shen’s expression, and when Gu Shen shook his head, it imdiately shut the wrong [door]!

Then ca another "Clang"!

This scene kept repeating.

Door open, door shut.

In the depths of the dark hall, the Judge’s roar echoed, along with the sparks that erupted every ti the wall was hit, resembling a smith forging weapons when viewed from afar.

What Gu Shen had to do was simple.

Earlier, he inadvertently opened ng Xiao’s [door]. At that ti, he hastily closed it, unable to avoid retreating.

But now, the situation has reversed.

He wants to actively search for ng Xiao!

The Judge relentlessly opens and closes doors, as if drawing a blind box, while Gu Shen stares intently behind the [door], desperately hoping to hit the mark in one try.

"Ora!"

This ti, after the stone wall shattered, two familiar senses of crisis ca from the pendant!

"Here it cos!"

Gu Shen’s eyes lit up, speaking in a low shout.

Mu Wanqiu understood imdiately.

This [door] just leaked a trace of aura—

Mu Wanqiu imdiately withdrew the "Chi Huo" shrouding her, which was equivalent to extinguishing the symbol of herself being an "ally."

Then she threw her combat knife.

"Zheng!"

The long knife tore through the void, shooting a hundred ters away, directly piercing the skeletal chest of the Holy Judge hanging in the hall, accompanied by the brittle snap of bones falling to the ground, the once restored dead silence of the hall seed to regain vitality.

Skeletons began to crawl up one by one.

These Holy Judges, supporting their knees, lit eerie glowing embers in their sunken skulls!

They cast "scarlet gazes" like tides towards where Mu Wanqiu was!

Mu Wanqiu’s heart instantly tightened.

She successfully awakened the grudge of the Holy Judges in this hall, and the next mont the Judge brought out the "fla," raising this extrely tiny Netherworld Fire above Mu Wanqiu’s head—

Those scarlet gazes converged on the spot where the two stood.

The living presence vanished.

But those gazes... did not imdiately disperse. One by one, the skeletons shuffled along, their faces long corroded by black water and weathered by ti, yet within those hollow eye sockets, seemingly still emitted a dazed spirit.

Gu Shen and Mu Wanqiu held their breath, the entire hall silent, even though they knew they would not be targeted by the souls of the Holy Judges... their hearts were inexplicably tense.

Several seconds later.

Those drifting, scanning scarlet pupils, one after another, focused on the [door] that Gu Shen opened!

"Woo woo woo..."

The wind blew by.

Sounding like the whimpering of lost souls.

But to Gu Shen and Mu Wanqiu, who knew of the Netherworld King’s curse, this sobbing sound seed more like a joyous, tearful celebration that the Holy Judges tossed in the main hall had finally discovered "living people."

They started running.

Gu Shen and Mu Wanqiu hurried to make way, dozens to hundreds of skeletons trampled over the hall floor, rushing towards the [door] of "release," the wailing wind swirling, this was a carnival of the dead!

"Quick... close the door!"

As the last skeleton crashed into the [door], Gu Shen quickly called out to the Judge!

He could feel a strange fluctuation in the "spirit" transmitted by the pendant.

Worthy as the Blessed Son.

ng Xiao seems to have survived the soul impact of a single Holy Judge.

Earlier, when the door was opened, ng Xiao likely sensed sothing sinister.

And now, the sudden influx of so many Holy Judges is both a disaster and an opportunity for him!

If the door isn’t closed now, this guy might rush out!

"Ola!!"

The Judge’s response was as calm as ever, providing a bursting sense of security.

This tall, snow-white ghostly figure had been waiting for a long ti. It was extrely composed and reacted with incredible speed, striking the mont it stayed close to the Holy Judges entering the portal, sealing the Black Door tightly with flying stone fragnts!

At this mont, the entire hall plunged into true silence!

Gu Shen looked at the main hall he had "emptied," and at the closed portal, relieved.

"Eighty-three Holy Judges..."

Mu Wanqiu appeared sowhat pale, having just counted the number of skeletons that crashed into the portal.

The combined resentnt of these Holy Judges could wipe out any team participating in this restart mission...

ng Xiao... probably can’t withstand this, right?

"This is the Nether River. The thing the Netherworld King hates most is the Transcendents from Light City... Moreover, he’s the Blessed Son..."

Gu Shen noticed Mu Wanqiu’s concern.

He gently exhaled a breath of stale air, "Even if he possesses overwhelming skills and an iron will, able to withstand the wills of these Holy Judges and find the exit... he won’t escape this disaster without shedding layers."

Although the Undead’s vitality is incredibly tenacious.

Shot twice by his own [Extinguishing Candle], ng Xiao was already seriously injured. These Holy Judge souls had completely lost their sanity and only thought to drag him into Hell...

After personally confirming that all eighty-three Holy Judges, cursed, were pouring into ng Xiao’s portal, Gu Shen’s tense spirit relaxed significantly.

He truly couldn’t imagine how ng Xiao could survive.

...

...

Darkness.

Endless darkness.

A glimr of scarlet eye light enveloped.

The nightmare descended, shattered.

Above the Nether River, ng Xiao’s soul was blown by countless fierce winds. He endured, expressionless, the spiritual purgatory that the "Holy Judges" once suffered... Only now, the purgatory was upon him.

His father, the forr Duke Zhen Yue, was burning in purgatory.

Under the blessing of the ntal curse.

It should have been a heart-wrenching scene.

But ng Xiao’s expression didn’t change at all. He coldly watched his father burn to death, coldly felt the will imposed by the Nether River—

"All of this was caused by him."

The souls of the long-gone Holy Judges had collapsed under the torture.

He knew there was only one way to end this tornt.

To declare his betrayal of the light above the Nether River.

Of course, ng Xiao wouldn’t do that.

He didn’t speak, nor did he bow, just stared at the black mist existence at the end of the long river, silently waiting... The deepest part of his spirit remained awake.

ng Xiao knew this was all a dream.

The scarlet eye light was the remnant thought of the Holy Judges, and this endless purgatory did have an end.

The remnant thought would eventually dissipate.

If he could hold on... it wouldn’t be long before he found relief.

Relying on this tenacious will, ng Xiao sat cross-legged above the Nether River, silently enduring the excruciating pain in his Spirit Sea and firmly thinking of a "vicious" face in his mind.

Gu Shen!

He was dragged into this nightmare... all thanks to Gu Shen!

Just as he entered the dream, he felt a hint of an external breath fluctuation—

A certain [Door] in the external world was opened and then quickly closed again!

It must have been Gu Shen’s doing!

But the timing was too awful for him, unable to react as the [Door] was shut.

Nevertheless, it didn’t matter anymore.

ng Xiao was sure he could get out soon.

Because of the curse dream of the Holy Judges, he was almost enduring until the light was about to descend, the ntal torture in his mind gradually waning, and the Nether River’s influence on his spirit slowly declining.

He could vaguely feel he was regaining perception of his body and the external world.

As ng Xiao tried to open his "real-world" eyes—

"Crack!"

The familiar sound of the portal breaking echoed again!

The [Door] had opened once more!

This ti, the [Door] stayed open a bit longer... ng Xiao’s spirit sensed two familiar presences not far away!

Gu Shen and Mu Wanqiu!

But then he heard chilling whimpers, rage, and wild laughter.

ng Xiao raised his head in astonishnt.

His expression was ghastly pale to the extre of his life.

When the door opened.

There was a mont of faint light.

In the next instant, countless Holy Judges rushed in with curses, completely extinguishing that faint line of light.
