Chapter 949: Chapter 115: All for the Sake of Return (Part 3)

Under the Sanctuary of the “Divine Throne”.

They began to search for one “Shattered Vessel” after another, scavenging resources as much as possible and searching for “Sleepers”.

As for those “Sleepers”, they would inform them of the situation… Many remained convinced that rescue would arrive and continued to choose sleep, with only a very few opting to erge from their hibernation pods to gather with them.

And so it went.

The abandoned exiles beca an independent tribe, knowing that without a vessel, there was no way to reach the faraway “Oasis”.

All they could do was survive and reproduce as best as they could…

On this wasteland.

And all they could rely on.

Was that fragnt of the Gospel box.

Gu Shen and Mu Wanqiu stood within this historical tide written by travellers.

The two silently watched this startling history of evolution.

The leader who wielded the Gospel box fragnt selflessly bestowed the power of God on every follower, every Old human who wanted to survive… He treated everyone as his own “Angel Envoy,” and there was only one outco for doing so.

That was his power being drained by the massive group.

But that fragnt of the Gospel box revealed a “Divine Miracle”…

Living in darkness, travellers gradually grew slit pupils, wings, and slender limbs, enabling them to move freely under high gravity and breathe at will in the essence-filled air; their lungs automatically filtered out harmful gases… Yet due to the low oxygen content of the “Old World,” their lungs evolved to be superior to that of a sea turtle; a single breath could sustain them for over ten hours, needing to breathe only two or three tis a day.

But unfortunately, in the “Old World,” there was no longer a clear concept of ti.

Day and night were reversed, extre daylight and eternal night were unpredictable natural phenona in a world where order had collapsed.

So they could go long tis without needing to sleep, enduring the scorching extre daylight, or hibernate for long periods, withstanding the sudden winter.

During the years of combating the “collapse of order,” travellers relied on this fragnt of the “Gospel box” to achieve an astonishing leap in life-level evolution within a few short decades.

But even so, it was still not enough.

Too many died in the “Old World,” as the adverse effect of the essence from the void made it hard for them to conceive, and even if they put all their efforts into protecting the pregnant “mothers,” the children inside them still struggled to survive.

In such disasters, a baby born smoothly might be even luckier than reaching the Oasis.

They were born under ticulous care, gradually growing up.

Fresh blood was infused.

This tribe on the brink of breaking could survive.

Only the birth of a new leader allowed travellers to take up the banner in this shattered world and fight against the fate of extinction.

There were fewer and fewer of them…

The journey, however, grew longer and longer.

And finally, their journey reached its end.

At the end of the vision—

Lies deep within the “Old World,” a black snow mountain with an indeterminate specific location, where a tall figure clad in a black robe stood before the snow mountain, with a pale, dark fla burning at his brow.

Netherworld King.

At the summit of the pitch-black snow mountain, the leader holding the Gospel box fragnt spread gray wings, suspended in the air, locking eyes with the Netherworld King.

The travellers inscribed this in the cliffside corridor.

“We know that one day, we will return to our holand. But we don’t know, does a holand we’ve never set foot on still count as a holand?”

“That man promised to open that ‘Door’ for us to return ho.”

“But the condition is, we must build a palace for him, tailor wings for him, and weave the Blessing of the Gospel from the blood as a battle robe… It’s an unfair bargain, but we have no other choice.”

“Everything—for the sake of return.”

(PS: The plot is really important lately, but under the premise of ensuring quality, this is all I can write for now, today it’s nine thousand five hundred words, breaking here is unavoidable. I will continue to stay up writing so more, but there won’t be any more updates tonight. I strive to release another significant chapter by tomorrow noon.)
