South Grant’s eyes lit up imdiately when he heard sothing interesting was about to happen.
"Who is it, anyway? Spill the beans."
Nathan Foster glanced at her sideways, "What’s in it for ?"
Always benefits, benefits! That’s all he cares about!
South Grant couldn’t think of anything to offer him, so she simply leaned over and planted a kiss on his cheek.
In the past life, she had kissed everywhere she should and shouldn’t have, so this was nothing new.
Kissing him felt like kissing herself in the mirror, absolutely no feeling.
Just as South Grant leaned in and quickly kissed him, Nathan Foster’s whole body tensed up.
He was utterly stunned.
South Grant looked ahead at the kindergarten area, where a parent was crossing the road with a little child, and a car was about to hit them. South Grant shouted:
"Watch out!"
Nathan Foster snapped out of his daze and slamd on the brakes.
South Grant was thrown forward a bit, then bounced back to her seat.
At this mont, the mother and child in front of the car were startled.
Seeing the car stop just a ter ahead of them, the mother glared angrily and shouted:
"Are you blind? Didn’t you see the traffic lights? Look how scared you made the child!"
South Grant’s face was filled with apology, the little child was frightened and was hiding behind her mother crying.
She got out of the car to apologize, with Nathan Foster following behind.
South Grant worried Nathan Foster would get angry, and rushed ahead to say sorry first.
Seeing their good attitude, the anger of the little boy’s mother gradually dissipated.
Nathan Foster then bent down, squatted in front of the child, and spoke gently:
"I’m sorry, it was my fault for scaring you."
Nathan Foster’s deep, magnetic voice was particularly pleasant and soothing when he spoke softly like this.
The child seed captivated by his nice voice, stopping his crying and blinking at Nathan Foster.
Upon noticing Nathan Foster in military uniform, the child curiously asked:
"Are you an army uncle?"
"Yes." Nathan Foster’s voice remained as gentle as before.
"Do you have a gun?" Boys have a natural interest in those things.
Nathan Foster looked at him, ruffled his hair, then took a gun from his waist, showing it to him.
The little boy’s eyes sparkled with excitent, "Uncle, can I touch it?"
Seeing Nathan Foster nod, the boy reached out eagerly to touch it.
He tried to lift it but couldn’t manage.
Nathan Foster then guided his hand, slowly holding the gun together.
The little boy happily showed it to his mom, exclaiming excitedly, "Mom, look, I’m holding a real gun!"
The little boy’s mother, seeing her child’s joy, let go of the last remnants of her anger.
South Grant stood nearby, watching Nathan Foster’s large hands hold the little boy’s.
His hands were defined, full of strength.
And his face showed such ticulous care and patience.
South Grant stared blankly.
In a past life...
If she hadn’t trusted Fiona Grant so much, and that child had been born smoothly, would he have also taught him patiently like this?
His big hand holding his little hand, teaching him about life, teaching him to protect his family and country?
At this mont, Nathan Foster stood up, apologized to the child’s mother, then noticed South Grant daydreaming and approached her, giving her a light pat.
"What are you thinking about?"
South Grant snapped back to reality, lowered her eyes to conceal her earlier distraction, and said, "Nothing."
Nathan Foster gave her a look but said nothing.
