"What’s the point of pretending? So people have a scent of scum, you can sll it from far away, just like..." you.
Luckily, South Grant was quick-witted; she swallowed back the word "you" before it slipped out.
"Like what?" Nathan Foster raised an eyebrow, looking at South Grant.
"Like certain powerful people who seem clean and wholeso on the outside, but keep mistresses at ho, wasting won’s youth and ruining their lives. Yet, they continue to climb the career ladder, and once they’re bored, they marry so well-matched heiress and start another splendid life. anwhile, others are left struggling painfully in the dark."
Nathan Foster quietly watched South Grant as she spoke.
There was an indescribable coldness in South Grant’s eyes.
For so reason, seeing South Grant like this stirred an indescribable feeling in Nathan Foster’s heart.
"Yeah, such people really are wolves in sheep’s clothing."
For once, Nathan Foster didn’t argue with South Grant but agreed with her instead.
South Grant couldn’t help but burst into laughter when Nathan Foster said "wolves in sheep’s clothing."
"Exactly, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You used that term perfectly. I’ll give you 82 points, the remaining 18 points, consider it given as a ’666’."
Nathan Foster didn’t realize that the person South Grant was talking about was his previous self. He just found her words a bit strange.
But he couldn’t quite pinpoint what was strange, it was just a gut feeling.
As Nathan Foster opened the car door, about to step out, South Grant reached out and grabbed him, looking up at him, she asked:
"What kind of dirt do you have on Henry Grant, can you tell all about it?"
Nathan Foster looked at South Grant’s hand gripping his arm and sat back in the seat.
Seeing the expectation in South Grant’s eyes, Nathan Foster motioned her over, waiting intently.
"Co over here."
Without suspecting anything, South Grant leaned closer.
At that mont, Nathan Foster’s lips landed on South Grant’s cheek as she leaned in.
South Grant’s eyes widened in shock.
Ti seed to freeze; whether for a second, two seconds, three, or even longer, they remained in this awkwardly frozen posture.
Until South Grant snapped back to reality and retreated quickly.
Nathan Foster’s lips curled slightly when he saw her bump her head hard against the car window behind her due to her swift movent.
South Grant yelped and held the back of her head, grimacing in pain.
"Here’s your bonus back to you, today’s failure of Henry Grant’s confession is a given, so I’ll keep this dirt for now. The best use is at the critical mont, it would be a waste to reveal it now."
Listening to Nathan Foster, South Grant was full of words ready to unleash at him.
I sacrificed so much, just to give you a benefit, didn’t even want my face, went in and kissed you.
And now you say you’re giving it back to ?
You’ve taken all the advantage, and I know nothing.
Can you be any more sinister?
Nathan Foster looked at South Grant’s frustrated expression, then reached out and rubbed the back of her head.
"Since you’re here, even if we don’t expose his dirt, we have to make him pay so interest for daring to ss with you."
As Nathan Foster spoke, he slightly raised an eyebrow, with that unique cold sharpness.
South Grant felt his large hand rubbing the back of her head and unexpectedly sensed a kind of unspoken tenderness.
It must be her imagination!
How could soone like Nathan Foster have a tender side?
In their past life, when he pinned her down for "deep" communication, his reckless actions seed to aim at her destruction.
PS: Goodnight, goodnight. I’ve stayed up again, will try to wake up early tomorrow. If I don’t, feel free to call a lazybones in the comnt section...
