Which Nathan Foster should she believe is real?
There are so many secrets about him that South Grant still doesn’t know.
How could she dare to trust him with herself?
South didn’t know how long she had been pondering. When she was truly exhausted, she closed her eyes, forcing herself not to think about these things, and then fell asleep.
Nathan Foster has been very busy lately, with little sleep, leading to poor sleep quality, waking up at the slightest noise.
That night, he faintly felt soone was watching him.
This was his intuition, honed over many years of intense training.
Everyone trained by him dares to fall asleep where predators roam because they can sense danger approaching.
Nathan felt there was danger nearby, so he opened his eyes.
Then he saw that there was soone sitting next to him.
At this ti, that person was gazing deeply at him.
That person was none other than South Grant.
She was sitting at Nathan’s bedside, her eyes seemingly harboring a beast, ready to pounce on Nathan at any mont.
Nathan’s heart skipped a beat. Who was she now?
Was it the dominant personality or the alternate personality?
If it was the dominant personality, she wouldn’t be looking at him with that gaze.
If it was the alternate personality, why hadn’t she made a move?
"Why are you awake?" Nathan asked gently.
"Nothing, go back to sleep."
After saying this, the person lay down, closed her eyes, and said nothing more.
Nathan felt strange but didn’t ask further and lay down with her.
Nathan tried to reach over and hold her in his arms.
Despite the intimacy of the gesture, Nathan remained on high alert, ready to react if the person in his arms made any sudden moves.
The person in his arms was also stiff, seemingly very uncomfortable with such close contact.
"Tired, sleep on your own."
South’s voice was cold as she spoke, then turned away, breaking free from Nathan’s embrace, facing outward to sleep.
Her voice and appearance hadn’t changed, only her personality and gaze were different from usual.
Nathan knew that this was not South Grant.
Since she ntioned he was the executioner who killed her child, the alternate personality hadn’t awakened again.
Now, it suddenly awoke in the middle of the night, sitting by the bed, staring at him, which was very surprising to Nathan.
Afterward, there was no movent from South’s side. Nathan knew she wouldn’t easily fall asleep, nor could he find a way to break through.
Nathan could only lie in bed pretending to sleep, taking quite a while to breathe evenly.
In his current state, anyone would believe he was asleep.
After a while, Nathan heard slight noises next to him.
He didn’t move, knowing South had gotten up. Nathan wanted to see what she intended to do.
Then, Nathan heard the sound of a door closing. He opened his eyes slightly and saw South opening the wardrobe on the wall, reaching in to press a switch.
The hidden door inside the wardrobe opened, and South glanced back at Nathan on the bed. Seeing him lying still, seemingly fast asleep, she entered the hidden door without hesitation.
Once she was inside, Nathan opened his eyes, sat up, and looked at the door, his gaze dark and deep.
His eyes were like the night sky tonight, pitch-black without a single star.
