What exactly is in this cave? Ling Chen took a deep breath. However, he did not hesitate for long before continuing towards the source of the faint light.
An expansive, flat area abruptly ca into view. It was starkly different from the outer sections of the cave; most of the sturdy stone walls here were undamaged. The ground, however, was strewn with enormous skeletons, mostly intact. A quick count revealed eighteen of them.
These eighteen skeletons, each distinct and emitting a dense black aura, were arranged in a rough circle at varying distances, all facing inward as if guarding sothing. Their empty, black eye sockets seed to hold an icy gaze.
As Ling Chen suddenly appeared and began to approach this strange circle, a chilling wind swept through, accompanied by a teeth-grating CLATTERING sound. Astonishingly, several of the skulls began to turn, slowly rotating to fix their empty gazes on Ling Chen.
CREAK! CREAK!
Before Ling Chen’s astonished eyes, all eighteen skeletons eerily swayed and began to rise to their feet.
Truly eerie, Ling Chen thought, swallowing hard. He had never witnessed such a bizarre scene. Even the Elixir Corpses he had encountered in the Tienzong Ruins were not as unsettling as these skeletons.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
The skeletal figures were astonishingly swift. They lunged through the air at a speed no less than that of typical top Great Master Level Powerhouses, perhaps even faster, closing in on Ling Chen in the blink of an eye.
Sharp, bony claws, seemingly oozing a corrosive black liquid, tore through the air, slashing at Ling Chen simultaneously from all directions.
"Get lost!" Ling Chen unsheathed his Thunder Shadow Sword and slamd it fiercely into the ground. Instantly, a furious gale erupted in a circular wave, sending all the skeletons flying and scattering them as a shower of white bones.
