A small, fair hand reached out from the cold iron coffin, grasping its side. Then, a petite figure climbed out.
"Oh my God, I was suffocating in there!"
After climbing out, the petite figure gasped for breath. Clearly, it had been difficult to breathe inside the coffin.
Shockingly, this charming figure was Ling Yin.
"Why is it you?"
When Ling Chen saw it was Ling Yin who had climbed out, not Xia Yunxin, his expression imdiately darkened. "Who said you could follow ?!"
This girl actually hid in the cold iron coffin to follow ! This is utter nonsense, completely lawless!
This expedition isn't a pleasure trip. I'm heading to Nine Provinces Land, a place where I can't even guarantee my own safety, let alone spare attention to care for Ling Yin.
"I'm your sister. If I don't follow you, where else can I go?"
Despite Ling Chen's harsh rebuke, Ling Yin put on a pitiful expression. Her aggrieved look would make anyone reluctant to bla her further.
"Isn't Green Cloud Mountain big enough for you to stay?"
Looking at Ling Yin's expression, Ling Chen felt a surge of annoyance. Before leaving, he had instructed Liu Feiyue to take good care of Ling Yin. Liu Feiyue had promised to treat her like her own sister. He never imagined Ling Yin would secretly follow him.
"I'm not a Disciple of the Cyan Robe Association. It would be so awkward for to stay there," Ling Yin pouted and grumbled. She took small steps to Ling Chen's side and gently tugged his sleeve. "Brother Ling Chen, the journey to Nine Provinces Land is long and will surely take a lot of ti. Traveling such a great distance alone must be boring for you. With soone accompanying you, the journey won't be so lonely, right?"
Seeing Ling Chen unmoved, Ling Yin remained undaunted. She moved closer to him and said, "Besides, and most importantly, you can't take care of Sister Xia Yunxin by yourself, can you? On such a long journey, if she's always in this cold iron coffin, who will bathe her and change her clothes? Are you planning to carry a corpse with you every day as you travel the Nine Provinces Continent? You simply can't manage it properly."
"If I can't, you think you can?" Ling Chen knew Ling Yin had a point but couldn't help scoffing.
"Of course, I can."
Unexpectedly, Ling Yin confidently patted her small chest. Then, with a wave of her hand, a figure appeared before them. This figure was lifelike, almost like a real person. However, a closer look at its face instantly revealed it wasn't human, but a Puppet.
This Puppet, however, moved just like an ordinary person. If not for its vacant expression and wooden face, Ling Chen wouldn't have been able to tell it was a Puppet.
A smile touched Ling Yin's lips. She raised her small hand and waved it lightly. The Puppet moved to the cold iron coffin and replaced the lid.
"This Puppet obeys its master's commands and can do anything. With it around, things will be much more convenient," Ling Yin said cheerfully.
Seeing this, Ling Chen began to reconsider. He had been firmly against Ling Yin coming along. However, he had to admit, this Puppet would indeed save a lot of trouble. Besides, Ling Yin's current strength wasn't weak. If they encountered danger, she probably wouldn't be a burden.
Ling Chen glared at Ling Yin and said, "I'll reluctantly let you co along this ti. But in the future, you are absolutely forbidden from pulling stunts like this behind my back again. If you do, I won't let you off so easily!"
"You agreed! That's great!" Ling Yin was so overjoyed she practically danced, almost jumping in the air.
"Don't celebrate too soon." Glancing at Ling Yin, Ling Chen's face showed no trace of joy. He shook his head helplessly. "Since you're coming with , you must obey my orders completely. Otherwise, I'll have you sent back imdiately."
"Okay, I understand. I'll listen to everything you say," Ling Yin nodded her head vigorously, like a well-behaved kitten.
But I know this is most likely an act, Ling Chen thought. Once we reach Nine Provinces Land, she definitely won't be this obedient.
Oh well, since I've already brought her, I'll just have to be prepared.
After nearly half a month of continuous flight, Ling Chen and Ling Yin finally arrived before a canyon.
Over the past half-month, the Qingfeng Jue had flown almost constantly, stopping only occasionally to rest. Even so, it took a full half-month to reach the far eastern region of Cloud Outland.
The canyon before them was deep and unfathomable, like a great chasm stretching across the land. It was an imnse gash upon the earth, appearing to extend for an imnse length.
A terrifyingly malevolent aura emanated from the canyon. Though it appeared empty from a distance, the atmosphere it exuded was enough to make one's skin crawl.
This canyon was known as Chaotic Mind Canyon.
The entire canyon was shrouded in a faint white mist, veiling it in an air of mystery.
No flying Exotic Beasts could cross this canyon; they had to traverse it on foot.
Flying over the canyon would make one an easy target for the Chaotic Mind Canyon itself. Engulfed by its white mist and assaulted by mysterious illusions, the only outco would be a fatal crash.
To cross the Chaotic Mind Canyon, one had to travel on foot, unless their strength reached a level where they no longer feared the canyon.
For instance, individuals at the Saint level probably wouldn't need to.
Ling Chen certainly wasn't that confident yet. He had the Qingfeng Jue land before the canyon, then jumped off its back.
Before they entered the Chaotic Mind Canyon, Ling Chen warned Ling Yin, "The Chaotic Mind Canyon is said to be filled with all sorts of illusions that can confuse the senses and bewitch the mind. Although I have my Sword Intent for protection, and you have your Illusion Technique, we still must be extrely careful."
"Understood." Hearing Ling Chen's words, Ling Yin's small face tensed. Though usually playful, she knew the gravity of the situation. This was no ti for gas. This Chaotic Mind Canyon was the only path to Nine Provinces Land. If they wanted to reach Nine Provinces Land, they had to pass through it.
This was also why Cloud Outland and Nine Provinces were isolated from each other.
Traversing this Chaotic Mind Canyon would be no easy feat.
Without further delay, Ling Chen and Ling Yin stepped into the mist-laden canyon.
The Puppet, carrying the cold iron coffin on its shoulder, followed Ling Chen and Ling Yin, slowly disappearing into the mist.
