Although he had given Bai Susu the Earth Heart Fire Lotus based on his trust in her character, Ling Chen couldn’t be entirely certain. After all, even among Righteous Path Disciples, there were plenty of sanctimonious hypocrites whose actions contradicted their words. If Bai Susu had indeed run off with the Earth Heart Fire Lotus, Ling Chen wouldn’t have been surprised.

Seeing Ling Chen’s action, Bai Susu’s beautiful eyes brightened for a mont before returning to their usual calmness. "I believe the people from the Myriad Beasts Sect and the Black Market must be searching for us everywhere around here. This place isn’t suitable for a long stay; we should leave as quickly as possible."
"Yes. We should leave now," Ling Chen nodded. Bai Susu was right; they were both currently in the eye of the storm. If discovered by either of those groups, the consequences would be dire.

Just as Ling Chen and Bai Susu were preparing to stand up, a sarcastic voice suddenly ca from outside the inn.
Ling Chen’s gaze followed the sound. In his line of sight, four or five youths in red robes were walking towards them. Among them was a figure Ling Chen recognized.
It was Ouyang Lie, whom Ling Chen had eliminated during the mission screening.

He had calculated that Lin Ya and Yang Hong wouldn’t have the spare energy to pursue him, but he had overlooked Ouyang Lie and his group.
This Ouyang Lie was so petty. After being eliminated during the mission screening, he had apparently been lying in wait here all this ti, seeking an opportunity to take revenge.

Duan Guiyun sneered and, with a flicker of his body, moved. His speed was a sliver faster than Ling Chen’s.
"Follow them!" Ouyang Lie and the other disciples of the Fire Blade Sect also scrambled to follow.
"That Ling Chen... he’s too impulsive," Bai Susu shook her head.
His opponent is the notoriously fierce ’Fire Demon’ Duan Guiyun, a dignified Fifth Stage Martial Artist. How could the current Ling Chen possibly be a match for him?
The outco of this battle was obvious. Duan Guiyun would very likely be ruthless. If Ling Chen were defeated, he would likely lose his life.
Despite this, Bai Susu still drew her sword and walked out of the inn. They were friends, after all; she couldn’t just stand by and watch Ling Chen be killed.
