Old Master Lawrence was having a drink with Nicholas while Skye sat nearby, occasionally easing the atmosphere with talk of things seen and heard in Linton City.
At that mont, a servant rushed in, hurriedly whispered sothing to the housekeeper.
The housekeeper’s brows furrowed, he glanced towards Old Master Lawrence, seemingly hesitating whether to speak. Soon enough, he made up his mind, went over to the stern old man, bent down and whispered sothing in his ear. “Skye is not getting any younger, when do you plan to let her get married?”
“I have soone in mind for her, planning to let them et first.” It was her dad’s voice.
Skye had not expected Old Master Lawrence to call her dad upstairs to discuss her matters, and while she felt surprised and favored, she pursed her red lips.
Just as she was about to push the door open, she heard Old Master Lawrence’s voice, “Arrange for them to et as soon as possible. If both parties have no objections, it’s best they marry within the year.”
“Why the rush?”
“I have my reasons. You just do as I say!”
Nicholas seed displeased with the arrangent, his voice raised a bit, “Dad, I want Skye’s marriage to be out of love, not for the family! So, I will respect her opinion. If she thinks the guy is suitable and wants to marry him, then so be it. If she doesn’t think he’s the right one, then forget it.”
“I’m not discussing with you! This is an order!” Old Master Lawrence’s attitude was extrely rigid, “Either do as I say, or I will send her to Country S, and I won’t allow her back for ten years! Those are the only options, make your choice!”
