Seeing her expression, Nicholas felt like she didn’t know, but still unsure, he humd in response and then asked, “You really just got here?”
Skye looked at him with seemingly bewildered eyes and answered plainly, “Yes, I’ve just arrived. What’s the matter? Is sothing wrong?”
Unable to discern the truth, Nicholas could only say, “Nothing.”
His mood was down, and he had no desire to probe further, massaging the bridge of his nose as he said, “I’ll wait for you here, go ahead.”
“Alright.” Skye reined in the complex emotions in her eyes and went inside.
