After a brief examination, he said, “Master, Miss’s leg injury is quite severe, it would be best to go to the Hospital for an X-ray to check if there is any bone injury.”
Enna Clark pulled down the hem of her skirt to cover her leg and knee, which was seeping with blood stasis and looked startlingly horrible, and said to Edward Jackson, “Little Uncle, no need for an examination, I didn’t injure my bones. If I really had, I would have felt it.”
The personal doctor disagreed, saying, “Ms. Clark is mistaken, it’s often difficult for patients to detect soft tissue contusions like this. I think it’s still best to go to the Hospital for an X-ray, just to be sure.”
“I really didn’t injure my bones, it just looks more frightening than it is.”
Injuries to muscles and bones take a hundred days to heal, she didn’t want to go to the Hospital because once she went in, she feared she might not co out for several days. She wanted to deal with Scarlett’s matter as quickly as possible to prevent her from causing more trouble.
What kind of person was Edward Jackson? He saw right through Enna Clark’s worries and asked, “Hayes, is the car ready?”
“Back to Master, it’s ready and can leave at any ti.”
Edward Jackson stood up, his tea-colored eyes rested on Enna Clark’s figure, and he reached out his hand with calm composure to help her up, “Let’s go.”
Enna Clark felt grateful but didn’t fuss with a thank you this ti, and followed Edward Jackson into the car.
Edward Jackson’s car was a Phaeton; although not the most expensive among luxury cars, its low-key comfort matched Edward Jackson’s personality well.
Soon, the Phaeton entered Prince Willie’s Garden Villa located just outside the City Center.
Prince Willie, due to a call from Lyle Westbrook, had canceled his eting after returning to the country and had just arrived ho when he received a call from Edward Jackson, vaguely feeling that sothing unknown to him had happened.
Upon returning ho, after inquiring with the villa’s servant, he learned that Scarlett had sneaked out while he was away, and had been brought back ‘unconscious’ by Lyle Westbrook, only just waking up.
He frowned and proceeded to the living room.
Lyle Westbrook was sitting on the living room couch, the Princess Consort at his side, with very little interaction between them other than sipping coffee in silence from the cups in front of each.
Even though he was accustod to the way his Princess Consort interacted with her ex-husband and son, Willie still found it sowhat incomprehensible. Removing his hat, he greeted Lyle Westbrook affectionately, “Lyle.”
“You’re back?” Lyle Westbrook put down his coffee cup, stood up, and gave him a bow in the tradition of Country W’s royal etiquette.
Willie quickly supported him, “We’re family, there’s no need for all that. Please have a seat.”
After he had pressed Lyle Westbrook to sit down and had a servant prepare a cup of coffee for himself, he looked at Lyle with puzzlent and asked, “Lyle, why did you urgently need to see ?”
This was the first ti Lyle Westbrook had called him, and Willie knew Lyle’s character well enough to understand that he would never call him back without good reason.
Lyle Westbrook had no intention of covering up for Scarlett since bringing her back and laid out the entire story of what Scarlett had done in front of Prince Willie.
Prince Willie at first didn’t believe his own ears, but his sense of judgent was still intact, and it was highly unlikely that Lyle Westbrook was lying to him. His face filled with rage, he slamd the table forcefully and roared, “Bring the Princess down to !”
