Lincoln stopped in front of the castle-like, resplendent building; he got out of the car, greeted respectfully by the servants all the way.
“Young Master.”
“Good evening, Young Master.”
“Young Master.”
The stern man passed through the crowd and went straight back to the spacious suite on the second floor.
Upon entering the room, he imdiately started pulling at the tie around his neck in irritation, throwing it onto the couch, his handso face betraying a hint of exhaustion.
Scott Harris followed him in.
Seeing him sitting on the couch rubbing the bridge of his nose.
With keen eyesight, he poured him a cup of hot water and placed it before him, “Lord Baron, have so water.”
“Hmm.”
Baron Lawrence picked up the cup of water; whether it was the magnitude of his movent, but he strained the wound on his shoulder, paused abruptly, and let out a stifled grunt, his thin lips slightly pale as if starved for air.
Scott imdiately stepped forward, his expression anxious, “Lord Baron, did you touch the wound?”
Baron Lawrence did not take the slight injury to heart. After the sharp pain that mont, he avoided Scott’s hand, his sharp lips pressed into a line, “It’s nothing.”
With that, he lowered his head and took a sip of water.
He had flown back with his injury, and other than sitting down for a while to et Skye Lawrence, he had been busy working like a top spinning at high speed. He didn’t even have ti to eat; and currently, not only was his physical strength utterly drained, but he was also beginning to feel a slight discomfort in his stomach, causing Baron Lawrence to frown involuntarily.
Scott, with his sharp eyesight, noticed the subtle frown and said with concern, “Lord Baron, let help you change the dressing on your shoulder.”
“The doctor said it needs to be changed every two days, and today is the second day.”
Baron Lawrence’s shoulder was indeed strained. His cold lips ford a line, which was taken as an agreent.
Scott quickly found the dicine box, helped him open the collar of his shirt, and when he saw the deep red staining his left shoulder, his heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
“Lord Baron, it might hurt quite a bit, please bear with it.”
Though he said this, his hands were sure and quick as he helped the man untie the bandage. Because the wound had been torn and had been bleeding for a while, the dried blood had glued the bandage to the wound, making it not only troubleso to remove but also likely to tear the wound open again.
Scott steeled himself and ripped off the blood-soaked bandage.
Baron Lawrence felt a stabbing pain on his shoulder and winced severely, and whether to divert his focus or for so other reason, he suddenly asked, “The woman you previously told about, whom I have forgotten, what is her na?”
Scott, who was intently occupied with the task at hand, was startled by his question but quickly responded, “Lord Baron, are you asking about Ms. Clark?”

A sense of aversion surged inexplicably in Baron Lawrence’s heart!
He didn’t believe he could fall in love with a woman, much less to the degree Scott had described, loving a woman to the point of abandoning his own life!
So when he heard Scott recounting the love story between him and that woman, he only felt it was incredibly naive and idiotic!
How could he possibly retreat to a dilapidated resettlent neighborhood for a woman? What was even more infuriating was that, according to Scott, it was the woman he had persistently pursued! But what was utterly unacceptable to him was that even though he pursued her, that damned woman had initially rejected him!
