He pressed down on his chest vehently, trying to suppress the inexplicable restlessness surging within, but it was utterly useless.
Far from calming the restlessness in his chest, it only made him feel more agitated, more irritable!
Baron Lawrence’s thin lips tightened into a straight line, his sharp features taut with tension. He stood up, striding with long legs, and sat at his massive six-ter office desk to calm his mind.
He casually picked up the contracts, docunts, and project materials that his secretary had organized on his desk this morning, thinking he might need them.
All he saw were black and white characters, in various languages.
Baron Lawrence had thought that work might soothe his mood, but after randomly going through a few docunts, he realized he hadn’t absorbed a single word.
Far from feeling calr, his mood only beca more agitated.
The agitated man felt like flipping the office desk over!
Dammit, what exactly was bothering him?
Ever since he unintentionally saw that woman with her ‘boyfriend’ last night, his mood seed to be in a state of constant rage and anxiety.
Adam Sinclair had prescribed so dicine for him, and he had taken it, but it hadn’t helped at all.
After a sleepless night, he encountered that child this morning… Baron Lawrence felt that if this continued, his heart might just explode!
But why?
What was the reason for his heart feeling like it might explode!
Was it simply because he had seen that woman he had accidentally glanced at in the airport with her ‘boyfriend’?
That was absurd!
With his status, how could he possibly be affected by such a trivial matter?
What woman couldn’t he have if he wanted?
Even if in the past he had foolishly chased after a calculating gold-digger, as Scott Harris had said, that was in the past. After all, that woman had invested effort in entangling him.
This ti, however, he had rely caught a glimpse of her at the airport; how could such a woman cause him to be so unsettled?
Baron Lawrence took a deep breath, his authoritative and profound face tightened as he forced himself to pick up the docunts from the table again, feigning concentration as if he was actually reading them…
However, five minutes passed.
A loud bang was heard.
The docunts on the desk were swept fiercely to the floor.
Papers flew chaotically through the air.
The man causing the ss appeared to be at the apex of irritability, the veins on his forehead pulsating as if through gritted teeth, he squeezed out three words, “Dammit all!”
He admitted, it was both ludicrous and laughable that his mood was affected by a woman he had only seen by chance at the airport!
Amidst the fluttering papers, the tall and handso man was preparing to call soone to pull up the airport’s surveillance footage, to find out the identity of the little woman who had disturbed his peace of mind.
Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of one fluttering piece of paper among the docunts, unlike the others. This A4 Paper was a bit larger and had a photo attached to it. It looked like it should have been placed at the very bottom.
The size of the paper alone was not enough to catch his attention, but the photo attached to it did—
There on the paper was a woman, and that face, Baron Lawrence simply couldn’t forget. It was the one he had unwittingly seen once, the one that had haunted and tornted him for days!
