She had been busy until two o’clock in the morning and was up again at eight, exuding an air of fatigue.
Just as she descended the stairs,
she saw soone who looked even more tired than she did—Bobby Clark appeared as if he hadn’t slept all night, with faint traces of sleeplessness beneath his dark, large eyes, slightly puffy.
But it didn’t detract from his pretty little face; on the contrary, the slight puffiness made his eyes seem less sharp, giving him a round and adorable appearance.
When Bobby first saw Enna coming downstairs, he seed slightly uneasy, pursing his lips and turning his face away.
Then, after not even two seconds, he turned back around, as if it took him a long ti to make this decision. Taking a deep breath, he said to Enna, “Woman, I’m going to go to school with Uncle Harris today. I’ve already talked it over with him.”
“You’re going to school?” Enna hadn’t expected him to give in so quickly; she thought he would resist until she had to forcibly take him.
Bobby’s pink lips pursed imperceptibly, suppressing his displeasure, “Aren’t you the one who wants to go to school? I thought about it all night, and I’ve agreed to go and study.”
With that, he jumped up from the dining table chair, grabbed his backpack that was prepared on the side, slung it on his back, and without so much as a glance at Enna, he said, “Uncle Harris is waiting for outside. I’ve already had breakfast, and I’ll be late if I don’t leave now. I’m off.”
Enna watched his desolate small figure but couldn’t bear it and called out to him, “Wait a second.”
Bobby turned around abruptly, his large eyes filled with hope. Though he thought he had concealed it well, Enna saw it.
It was a feint of injury…
Enna struggled to suppress her urge to laugh and returned the iPad she had confiscated from him, “Take it. You can only play for two hours a day, and I’ve only charged it for two hours. You manage your ti.”
Bobby thought she had finally softened, that she had called him back to change her mind, not to force him to go to school. Instead… she just returned his iPad to him and, adding insult to injury, had only charged it for two hours of use. His strategy had failed, and he reluctantly took the iPad from Enna, with eyes just like another’s, he muttered dejectedly, “Enna, I’m leaving now.”
“Yeah.”
“I’m going to school.”
“Yeah.”
“I won’t be back until the afternoon.”
“Yeah.”
“If Gigi wakes up and doesn’t see , I wonder if she’ll cry. Otherwise, let Gigi and I be in the sa class?”
Enna flatly refused, “She’s just over a year old, she can’t go to school yet. Don’t worry, Mr. Harris and Uncle will take good care of her. She’ll stop crying once she knows you’ve gone to school.”
Bobby’s last trump card was ruthlessly rejected, and he had no more moves left, his fair, cool little face turning red, his brows furrowed as he looked at Enna, “Woman, I’m going to school!”
The eight words were pronounced with emphasis.
Enna deftly handled the situation and even helped him pack the iPad into his backpack and zip it up. She patted his backpack and calmly said, “Go on, then.”

Enna was completely unswayed by his sly scheming; Bobby resigned himself to his fate, looking back three tis with each step he took as he walked away.
