Chapter 1371: Chapter 1371: Where Is She? Chapter 1371: Chapter 1371: Where Is She? He suddenly stood up, and the person delivering the report on stage got so scared that his legs went weak, nearly collapsing to the floor, stuttering as he spoke, “On, on… on the 22nd floor.”
“I’m going out for a bit!”
With that, he left the conference room without looking back.
The eting room was left with people looking at each other in confusion, none knowing what had just happened.
…
The tea room downstairs.
Several won were still worried that Enna Clark might report them for gossiping. As they spoke, suddenly a figure whipped into the room like a whirlwind.
His gaze, cold as the Siberian air, quickly swept over the tea room and then his brow furrowed as he looked at one of the won, “Where is she?”
The coffee machine was still running.
The mug was still here.
But Enna Clark was nowhere to be seen.
Where did she run off to?
The won in the tea room suddenly saw a man barge in, and upon closer inspection, his facial features and imposing air looked more and more like…
“President… President Lawrence?”
Seeing the infatuated look on the woman’s face, Baron Lawrence’s dark eyes flashed with disgust. His brow furrowed as if ready to crush a fly, and he repeated icily, “I’m asking you about the people here in the tea room?”
“Who… who… which person?” Overwheld by his proximity, the woman was so excited she completely lost her bearings, her mind going blank as she asked in a daze.
“I’m asking about the won here in the tea room. Where did they go?” Baron’s tone was as cold as ice, his piercing eagle-eyed gaze bearing down on her, razor-sharp!
The woman finally snapped out of it, “Is President Lawrence asking about… the previous secretary?”
“Where did she go?”
“Just now a staff mber ca and told the secretary that you needed… needed the financial statents from the Finance Departnt and instructed the secretary to get them. Your secretary asked us to keep an eye on her coffee here and then left.”
Baron’s obsidian eyes suddenly darkened to their utmost extent!
He slamd his fist against the wall, “Damn it!”
His instincts had not been wrong.
He had not sent any staff mber to fetch Enna for the financial statents. Why then had a staff mber suddenly appeared?
His heart felt as though it was hanging off a cliff, that uneasy feeling expanding once more.
He grabbed the woman by the collar and asked through gritted teeth, “How long has she been out? Where is the Finance Departnt? What exactly did that staff mber say to her?”
With his strikingly handso face so close, the female employee lost any mood to admire a handso guy and said with a trembling voice, “She seems to have been out for almost 3 minutes, the Finance Departnt is on the 18th floor. That person said… said… said that President Lawrence, you were having a eting upstairs and needed the financial statents. You didn’t trust anyone else to fetch them, so had the secretary go get them. Also ntioned…”
“Also ntioned the Finance Departnt was on the 18th floor, telling her that once she got out of the elevator and walked to the end of the corridor, she’d find the Manager’s office. The statents were in the drawer in the Manager’s office.”
She tried hard to recall, but couldn’t rember anything else, “I think that’s all that was said.”
Baron abruptly let go of her and headed for the stairwell at a run.
Enna Clark…
Damn it!
She mustn’t co to any harm!
She absolutely mustn’t!
Baron didn’t even bother with the elevator, racing down the stairs and barging into the Finance Departnt. Disregarding the astonished stares of everyone, he charged toward the office at the end of the corridor.
The door to the office was ajar, and without a thought for anything else, he kicked the office door open—
“Enna Clark!”
