Chapter 1437: Chapter 1437: Anyway, her backer can straighten things out Chapter 1437: Chapter 1437: Anyway, her backer can straighten things out “You’re right, I do know exactly who you are, and so Miranda, I know crystal clear when you’re lying,” Enna Clark said coldly as she looked at her.
That gaze made Miranda unable to hold eye contact, her eyes guiltily shifting away before she said with a sense of wronged innocence, “Enna, don’t you trust ?”
“I’ll have Elysion blacklist you,” Enna spoke indifferently, “Take so ti to reflect on yourself. When you’ve thought it through, then we can talk about sothing else.”
“You want to have blacklisted?” Miranda couldn’t believe it and shrieked, her voice, so sharp from the excitent, was like shredded silk, utterly unpleasant to hear. Miranda couldn’t care less at this point, blurting out in agitation, “Enna Clark, I already said it wasn’t on purpose, it was just a photo shared with friends and now you want to blacklist . Even if, for the sake of argunt, it was intentional, what relation do you have with her, and what with ? Don’t you know your own priorities?”
“She, Olivia Lewis, is just a stranger, and I am your cousin! Are you really going to blacklist for a stranger? How can you think of such a thing? If word gets out, aren’t you afraid of becoming a laughingstock?”
“I’ve thought it through very well. You’re right, she is a stranger, but this stranger did everything she could to help find a job when I had nothing, to take care of my child, to lend money without expecting anything in return, and to support with all her effort. And what did you and your mom do at that ti? Do you want to list it out for you?”
Knowing full well what Michelle Lewis had done, Miranda didn’t have the audacity to confront Enna Clark in front of everyone, but she wasn’t willing to just let herself be blacklisted. Her face beca flushed with red, and after struggling for a while, she finally managed to say, “So what if she did all that? That doesn’t change the fact that I am your cousin, and she is the outsider. Who ever sides with an outsider against their own cousin? No matter what, you can’t just say you’ll blacklist and do it. Do you know how long I’ve worked for what I have now, how much I’ve put in?”
“And do you have any idea how hard Olivia has worked, how much she has put in?” Enna didn’t even pause before she countered, “Have you ever thought about the consequences for Olivia if the picture you sent to the reporters gets out?”
Miranda was left speechless for a mont, her unwillingness apparent, “Doesn’t she have a sugar daddy to back her up? Even if the photos get out, her sugar daddy will help her sort it out.”
“You have a sugar daddy supporting you as well. Shall I release your scandals? After all, you’ve got soone to clean up your ss too.”
Director Liu, caught in the middle, was sweating profusely.
Now that he knew Enna Clark’s identity, he wouldn’t dare offend the future President’s wife for the sake of Miranda. He quickly distanced himself from Miranda, “Secretary Clark, you misunderstood. I was just accompanying Lillian to shop a bit today. We are rely friends, not what you imagined.”
Director Liu’s action was undoubtedly another slap to Miranda’s face in the presence of the salespeople, making her feel utterly exposed.
But she didn’t dare offend Director Liu, even if she was inwardly furious at the man for pretending not to recognize her once he had changed his clothes. She could only force out a strained comnt, “Yeah, you misunderstood. I was just out to help Director Liu pick a piece of clothing; he asked for my help in choosing. I’m not like Olivia Lewis; I don’t have anyone backing up. And, what scandals are you talking about? That thing with her can’t be considered a scandal, at most it’s just an injury from filming.”
