Chapter 1459: Chapter 1459: The Feeling of Irritation Was Soothed Chapter 1459: Chapter 1459: The Feeling of Irritation Was Soothed Who wouldn’t feel irritated being woken up in the middle of the night, dragged out of bed to cook, and incessantly directed, their throat becoming uncomfortable.
Now, Enna Clark’s throat was not just uncomfortable; her head was about to explode with annoyance.
If she had let him stay any longer, she feared the Tomato and Egg Noodles wouldn’t have been made before she had a ltdown.
Without the domineering presence of soone pointing and ordering her around, Enna Clark clearly felt the air was much fresher.
She opened the lid of the pot to check on the Tomato and Egg Soup and noticed it had started to bubble. She quickly covered it again, prepared the tomatoes to be added, and found the noodles.
Tomato and Egg Noodles were a simple, everyday dish, really just a matter of making Tomato and Egg Soup and throwing in so noodles.
Enna Clark made a large bowlful in no ti and, after sprinkling so pre-prepared green onions on top, she carried it out of the kitchen.
“It’s ready.”
Baron Lawrence was already waiting at the dining table in the living room. Enna Clark placed the finished Tomato and Egg Noodles in front of him, “Here, give it a try.”
She handed over the chopsticks as well, pulled out a chair, and sat down beside Baron.
The man with the icy expression might have been upset because she had sent him out earlier, as his face still didn’t look too good, but without speaking, he pushed a cup of water toward her.
He said nothing throughout the process.
Enna Clark accepted the water cup and belatedly rembered that this was the water she had asked Baron Lawrence to get for her.
“Is it honey water?”
“Can’t you taste it yourself?” His attitude was utterly atrocious!
What did she an?
Could it be that he would give her plain water to drink?
Enna Clark didn’t argue with him, took a sip from the cup, and instantly tasted the sweetness. The temperature was just right, obviously made with care. Her parched throat was soothed, and she imdiately felt more comfortable. Her eyes softened as she looked toward the man beside her and said gently, “Thank you, it’s very sweet.”
Baron Lawrence, who had been feeling quite unpleasant and was mainly bothered by not being able to rember sothing, suddenly didn’t feel as irritable when he saw the smile on her face. It was as though an invisible hand had swept away all the heaviness on his chest, leaving his troubled heart suddenly at peace.
He knitted his brows, picked up the chopsticks, and looked at the Tomato and Egg Noodles in front of him.
Such an ordinary food held no appeal for him; he truly could not understand why he used to like it.
What was so good about such food that he would often ask this woman to make it?
And the Old Man, why would he also like such simple fare?
Baron Lawrence’s mind was filled with doubt, but his noble and handso features remained composed as he elegantly took a bite of the noodles.
Enna Clark reminded him from the side, “The noodles are just cooked and might be hot, be careful.”
Baron Lawrence was about to tell her she was being noisy when he scalded his mouth. He frowned, slowed down, and continued to eat.
The taste was as average as he had expected, with no highlights whatsoever.
Moreover, it seed like not enough salt had been added; the noodles tasted bland, almost like eating noodles boiled in plain water.
Normally, he would have thrown away sothing tasting like this after one bite, but for so reason, he patiently continued eating this ti.
The warm noodles soothed his stomach. The subtle discomfort he had been feeling disappeared, and he felt much more relaxed than after a busy mont.
Baron Lawrence narrowed his eyes slightly, his thin lips curving imperceptibly.
This woman’s cooking might be awful, but at least it wasn’t entirely useless; there was, at least, sothing redeeming about it.
