Chapter 1522: Chapter 1522: Bobby’s Tiff
In the cafe.
Enna Clark was still engaging in a stare-down with Bobby when the phone in her bag rang.
“Woman, your phone is ringing,” Bobby taunted her. “Aren’t you going to check it? What if it’s Dubious Man calling?”
Enna opened her bag, grabbed the phone, and quickly answered the call as soon as she saw the Caller ID. “Hello, Olivia? You’re going ho first? What do you an? Aren’t you with Young Master Sinclair? Hmm? Alright, I’ll co find you when I get back.”
Tobias Clark heard the na Olivia Lewis and pretended to be nonchalant, but his ears were perked up, eavesdropping. But he didn’t hear anything concrete, and once Enna put down her phone, he imdiately asked, “Was that Auntie Olivia on the phone? What’s wrong with her?”
“Nothing’s wrong. She just called to let us know that she won’t be going back with us and wants to rest up a bit first.”
Enna wasn’t foolish enough to truly believe Olivia’s claim that nothing was wrong.
But in front of Bobby, she could only offer that as comfort.
A flicker of concern crossed her eyes. Olivia had left Adam Sinclair so quickly, they must have argued.
Or…
She quietly clenched her fist, inexplicably recalling the question Olivia had asked her before—’Enna, what do you think about and Adam Sinclair breaking up?’
It shouldn’t be, given Adam Sinclair’s personality; he didn’t seem like soone who would let go easily.
Perhaps they just had an argunt.
“Rest up a bit? Is she feeling unwell?” asked Tobias, who was the kind of person whose emotional intelligence at the age of five was already high enough to handle everyone around him. He imdiately picked up on the flaw in Enna’s statent and asked sharply.
He furrowed his little brow, his deanor resembling soone else’s as his eyes darkened, and he said in an unhappy tone, “Did Uncle Adam bully her?”
Upon hearing his protective tone, Enna pinched his fair and tender little face right away and said, “No, you’re thinking too much. She’s just going to rest, how did you jump to bullying?”
Tobias’s cool little face tensed, his body stiffened at first, but he didn’t reject Enna’s pinch. Then, as if he rembered sothing, he quickly turned his head away, dodging her hand, and stood up with a stern face, “It’s about ti, I need to go!”
“Gigi.”
The little girl, who was joyfully playing with the coffee cup on the table, imdiately turned her head like a called fold-ear cat, her big eyes shining as she called out in a baby voice, “Brubby.”
Then, without waiting for Bobby to tell her, she reached out her hand and grabbed his, “Brubby, I’ve been good~”
Tobias’s cool little face lted like an iceberg, revealing an extrely beautiful smile, and he humd softly, praising her, “Mm, good, you’ve behaved well today. I’ll reward you with an extra lollipop when we get back.”
The little girl’s eyes lit up instantly, akin to a cat that slled fish, filled with excited anticipation. But she didn’t forget to sweet-talk the ‘leader’ who had the power over lollipops, holding the young boy’s hand, looking up at him, her eyes sweetly curved as she chirped, “Thank you, Brubby.”
Her expression couldn’t have been any more adorable.
“Alright, let’s go,” Tobias said as he took her by the hand to leave.
Gigi, excited about her lollipop reward, almost started spinning around in joy, imdiately hopped off the couch and was ready to follow.
After just a couple of steps, she sensed sothing was amiss, tugging at Bobby’s hand, unwilling to move, “Brubby, the kitty…”
