Chapter 1589: Chapter 1588: Never Intended to Do That!
At one end, Enna Clark was on the phone in the break room.
At the other end, the situation in the President’s office was not as she had imagined—Baron Lawrence was not busy.
In fact, apart from Baron Lawrence, there was another person in the office.
Baron Lawrence frowned deeply, his voice dripping with impatience, “What do you want? Spit it out and get lost!” He hoped she would leave imdiately to avoid any misunderstandings with that woman when she returned.
This was the first ti Kendall Lynch had been treated so rudely. She was after all not used to such treatnt. Her pretty face flushed with embarrassnt. Biting her lower lip uncomfortably, she said, “My Brother said that our families would be entering into a marriage alliance.”
Baron Lawrence’s brows furrowed fiercely!
Kendall saw his displeasure and took a deep breath before continuing, “I heard that you have soone you like. I also saw the video of the piano performance online. She seems like she has a good personality.”
Nonsense, of course Enna Clark is wonderful!
In his eyes, no one could be better than Enna Clark!
“I ca here today to tell you that I really like you. I won’t mind her presence. After our marriage, you can still see her.” Kendall mustered the courage to say what she intended.
This was the result she had contemplated deeply about.
She liked the man before her, right from the first glance during their last eting. Although it wasn’t love, she had a favourable impression of him.
Ultimately, she would have to marry, and her marriage wouldn’t be just for the sake of it—family interests were involved.
Compared to possibly dealing with an unlikable man and maintaining a facade of a relationship later on, she preferred an alliance with the Lawrence Family.
As for Baron Lawrence having soone he loved on the side… Kendall didn’t dwell on it.
To her, that wasn’t a big deal; after all, marriages within large families often involved such matters. She wasn’t bothered by the number of won Baron Lawrence had behind her back, as long as it didn’t affect her marriage.
So she had co today to communicate her thoughts to Baron Lawrence.
She had laid out her thoughts clearly from the start to alleviate any concerns the other party might have, which would be conducive to a successful alliance.
“Are you saying that you’d allow her to be my mistress?” Baron Lawrence’s dark hawk-like eyes were filled with cold indifference.
Kendall failed to recognize his coldness and thought her approach was correct, “Yes, I am willing. After we marry, you can continue to see her, and I can coexist peacefully with her.”
“I am not willing!” Baron Lawrence’s handso face beca overbearingly cold and stern as he stood up, his height giving him an absolute advantage, his presence even more forcefully chilling, “I don’t know what you’ve heard from your Brother, but I can clearly tell you that I will not enter into a marriage alliance with you. I have no interest in you, not now, not ever! As for my marriage, I never once thought about sacrificing it for the sake of business! So, you can leave now!”
Leave!
Kendall’s deep blue eyes widened in disbelief, and she couldn’t help saying, “The Lawrence Family can only get past this crisis by forming an alliance with Oscar. Don’t you want to see the Lawrence Family continue like this?”
“That’s just your wishful thinking!” Baron Lawrence couldn’t be bothered to explain further and simply ordered her out, “Get out.”
Dammit, he just knew this woman would be a waste of his ti.
But if he didn’t see her, who knew what trouble she might stir up. Better to let her finish her nonsense and be done with it.
Done talking? Now leave!
“You—” This was the second ti today Kendall had been told to leave. After all, she was a pampered socialite from a prominent family, her pretty face now turning crimson with anger. She stamped her foot and, with a fling of her hands, exclaid, “Fine, I’ll go! But don’t you regret this!”
After speaking, she stord out like the wind—
Baron Lawrence didn’t even spare her a glance, let alone consider regret.
