Chapter 1626: Chapter 1626: A Small Interlude in the Conference Room
Enna Clark saw the text ssage sent by Olivia Lewis three hours later.
The two-hour-long eting finally ca to an end. Under Baron Lawrence’s arrangent, the Lawrence Family formulated a new strategic plan, and this ti, Baron Lawrence took care of the people belonging to Skye Lawrence’s group.
Those who needed to be demoted were demoted, and those who needed to be dismissed were dismissed.
Including those who had been making small moves during this ti, they were all taken care of.
Since the eting was nearing its end, Enna Clark took out her phone and turned it on under the table.
She was absorbed in reading Olivia’s text ssage, not noticing that at the mont her eyes moved away, the domineering man’s gaze had been fixed on her.
Damnit!
What could be more attractive than him?
She didn’t even look at him, only at her phone!
Basically, everything that needed to be explained had been explained, and Baron Lawrence imdiately stood up. His stern and handso face seed as sculpted and handso as a statue. His sharp thin lips parted and coldly spat out two words, “eting adjourned!”
“Wow—” The quiet conference room, where even falling needles could be heard, erupted with the sound of shutting laptops.
But no one dared to leave.
After Enna responded to Olivia’s ssage, she placed her phone on the table and began to pack up her things.
At this mont.
A figure in sky blue appeared in front of her, “Secretary Clark, could you spare a few minutes?”
Who is this voice?
Enna looked up, startled to see Kingston Howard’s face.
Kingston’s face carried a smile, seemingly oblivious to the fierce gaze aid at his back as he issued the invitation to Enna,
“It’ll only take a few minutes, I won’t take up too much of your ti.”
Given that he had said this much, Enna found it hard to publicly refuse him. She hesitated a mont and then said, “Of course.”
“Really? That’s great.” Kingston’s bright eyes lit up and he flashed a hearty grin.
Baron Lawrence wasn’t deaf; he heard Enna agreeing.
It felt as if an invisible hand had tightened around his chest.
If the conference room hadn’t been filled with people still present, he would’ve pulled the damned little woman away.
But now, with everyone still here, if he were to directly drag Enna away, it would hurt her dignity.
He watched as the heartless woman followed Kingston Howard out of the conference room.
Everybody in the conference room was rendered utterly stunned by this little episode. They hadn’t even recovered when a loud crash echoed.
The trash can had been flung out.
“Shit!”
At this, no one dared to speak. Everyone bowed their heads, trying to minimize their presence.
…
At the corner of the staircase.
Kingston Howard stopped, focusing intently on the serene face of the petite woman in front of him.
Honestly, no matter how he looked. Enna Clark wasn’t the type of stunningly beautiful woman that would take your breath away at a glance, but for so reason, he had fallen in love with this not particularly spectacular woman at first sight.
Perhaps her aura makes people feel very comfortable.
There are plenty of pretty won, but very few that make you feel comfortable at first glance.
Besides, this woman was the President’s woman.
Kingston Howard smiled wryly and said, “Enna, I apologize for calling you out in front of so many people. I know you ca out because you didn’t want to embarrass publicly, but thank you all the sa.”
Enna hadn’t expected him to be so straightforward. Stunned for a mont, her bright eyes in surprise, “…it’s really nothing.”
Kingston took a deep breath, though not as handso as Baron Lawrence, he was quite good-looking, and a slight blush appeared on his face. His bright eyes looked directly at Enna, unexpectedly saying, “I like you.”
